Abstract:Refractive surgery has become one of the hotspots of ophthalmology in our country. After analyzing refractive surgery related papers, the author put forward the idea that enhancement shall be done through strengthen innovation consciousness, deepen and refining the target of academic papers, uniform of operation program and material collection, strengthen the combination of basic research and clinical research and strengthen study on binocular vision in research of refractive surgery.

Abstract:Background: this study aims to further understand the scientific research ability and level of general practitioners in hospitals at all levels through investigating the general scientific research situation and scientific research intention of general practitioners on duty, so as to provide a basis for formulating scientific research training and scientific research objectives related to general practitioners.Methods: general practitioners working in general medicine departments of hospitals at all levels were selected as the subjects of the survey. Self-filled questionnaires and interviews were used. R software was used for statistical analysis.Results: with the improvement of professional title, the longer time spent in general medicine, the greater interest in scientific research, the more articles published, and the more project funding received.Hospital grade, general practice time, master and doctor degree were independent influencing factors. The higher the hospital grade, the greater the demand for articles, while the longer the general practice, the lower the demand for articles. And the hospital of different rank, promotion needs the requirement of the article to differ. General practitioners who work in tertiary hospitals, have the title of chief physician, master's degree or doctor's degree, are interested in scientific research, have the interest in scientific research training, have the requirement of articles for promotion, have joined the scientific research team and are more inclined to devote their spare time to scientific research. The number of articles published by general practitioners was positively correlated with age, hospital grade, professional title and whether they joined the research team. The number of gp grants was positively correlated with age, hospital grade, professional title and whether or not they joined the research team.Conclusion: hospital grade, general practice time, master's degree and doctor's degree are the correlative factors that affect the requirement of scientific research. Hospital grade, professional title and age are the influencing factors for the scientific research achievements of general medicine, which are positively correlated with the number of articles published and the number of project grants received.

Abstract:Objective To improve the teaching effects of medical image processing.Methods Teaching content was reformed considering the problems encountered during clinical practice and research. Modern teaching methods such as problem-based learning and flipped classroom were adopted. In addition, professors from world famous Universities were invited to teach lessons.A website was also built for this course.Moreover,the students were encouraged to participate in after-class research.Finally,a new practice-based teaching mode with characteristic content and modern methods was developed.By adopting information technology,all-round students could be gifted with international vision.Results The students'interest was stimulated and their problem solving skills were improved.Conclusion The teaching effects of medical image processing can be largely improved by research,so that the students can not only master the course content well but also develop skills to solve practical problems.

Abstract:How to improve doctor-patient communication skills of refresher physicians of laser cos-metic dermatology during practice is an important research subject.This paper introduces the status quo of doctor-patient communication in laser cosmetic dermatology and its unique features so that refreshers can realize the importance and necessity of doctor-patient communication.We conducted a questionnaire-based survey and adopted flipped classroom to set learning goals and physician-patient role exchange so that refreshers can learn self-communication,self-understanding and self-dialogue,and get rid of negative mood,which leads to ultimate goals of achieving self-perfection and self-surpassing and improvement of the refreshers'doctor-patient communication skills in laser cosmetic dermatology practice.

Abstract:The prevalence of myopia in China is increasing. The early onset and rapid progression of myopia in younger children have attracted more attention. The establishment of standardized children's refractive development records is the basis of myopic prevention and control. It would be helpful to follow the refractive status and pay more attention to the refractive development of potential myopic children, so as to reduce the prevalence of myopia. Quantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery

Abstract:Following tremendous economic progress, society in China is also undergoing fundamental changes, as is the healthcare system. Currently the training of Chinese young doctors and their future work placement are all undergoing re-structuring. We compiled some thoughts and opinions on the topic of 'should clinicians in China engage in research?', and publish them as a special report in this issue of Quantitative Imaging in Medicine and Surgery (QIMS). The contributors included some editorial members of this journal, and a few personal friends. Besides a few minor linguistic corrections, opinions from the contributors have not been edited, as we want authors' to write their own independent views. However, it is possible there is a selection bias of the contributors of this paper; more likely those who are interested in the medical research are selected and therefore the views of the contributors may not be generalizable. To compare the structure and funding of China with other countries, authors from UK, The Netherlands, France, and USA are also invited.
Primary analysis on the safety and efficacy study of refractive surgery through multi-centers cooperative investigation

Abstract:Objective Based on the completion of the refractive surgery research project from the Chinese National Key Technologies R&D Program, the outcome contribute to the safety and efficacy of refractive surgery was analyzed, and the way for making its success was explored. Methods The Hospital of Optometry and Oph- thamology, at Wenzhou Medical College, along with 19 refractive surgery centers, conducted clinical study of refractive surgery of laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK), photorefractive keratomileusis (PRK) and phakic intraocular lens (PIOL). Under the established standards and procedures, multi-centers refractive surgery investiga- tion and data collection were made in three parts studies conse- quently: ① Clinical basic study on visual function after refractive surgery was done at Wenzhou. ② General data about refractive surgery were collected among 12 units. ③Longitudinal clinical in- vestigation on safety and efficacy in multi -center was conducted. Results ①The critical visual functional related parameters for fine outcome of refractive surgery were summarized in the part I. And they were visual acuity, contrast sensitivity function, accommodation and vergence, ocular optical aberration and corneal topography. ② From the general data collection, the volume of refractive surgery was in the development curve from sharp up to flat up trend, LASIK was the domain one. Myopes took account of the majority. Faculty and facility were well equipped. ③Two thousand one hun- dred and eighty-eight cases were enrolled and kept for scheduled followe up. Among which, there were 1754 LASIK cases. Among the LASIK cases at the 6th month follow up, the safety and effica- cy factors were 1.007 and 1.003 respectively. Conclusion The safety and efficacy factors of refractive surgery reflected the expect- ed comprehensive outcome which has clinical significance and ap- plication. The success of multi -centers research investigation de- pends on the project design, friendly cooperation and good manage-ment. China current has the refractive surgery trend in the healthy track.
Clinical Study on Improving the Quality of Vision of Excimer Laser Refrative Surgery

Abstract:Purpose To investigate the clinical effective methods of improving the quality of vision of excimer laser refractive surgery. Methods The clinical outcome of excirner laser refractive surgery by comparing different refraction methods,different laser machines and different operative methods was studied. Results The incidence of postoperative glare in group with small optical zone linear ablation and group using flying-spot large optical zone ablation were 33.64% and 15.89% . respectively(P0.05) .The incidence of postoperative ocular fatigue in group using medical refraction was fewer than that using ordinary refraction ( P 0.05). Significant decentration was found in 6 eyes of 5 patients after LASIK. After topography-supported customized ablation (TOSCA) treatment, all patients had a significant reduction in the perception of ghost image and glare. Uncorrected visual acuity ( UCVA) and best spectacle-corrected visual acuity (BSCVA) were both increased significantly.Comparing the effect of LASIK with LASEK on contrast sensitivity and wavefront aberration, the decrease of contrast sensitivity in post-LASEK group was smaller than that of post-LASIK group.The increase of higher-order aberrations was significantly larger in LASIK group than that in LASEK group 3 months after surgery. Conclusion Employing medical refraction, Choosing flying-spot system ablation with large optical zone, using TOSCA for irregular comeal surface and following LASEK procedure are the useful methods for improving the quality of vision of excimer laser refractive surgery.

Abstract:Corneal refractive surgery has been the major solution for the correction of ametropia.With the standardization of preoperative examination,intraoperative procedure and perioperative drugs,corneal refractive surgery has become much safer.Meanwhile,patients can get not only good visual acuity,but also favorable visual quality.However,the patient satisfaction has not been improved dramatically with the enhance of effectiveness and safety after surgery.Increase of the satisfaction degree to corneal refractive surgery is related to multiple factors such as experienced and highly skilled operation,operative safety,lessening operative complication,good postoperative visual and life quality of patients.Comprehensively analyzing existing problems in corneal refractive surgery in China and further obtain satisfaction of patient will be of an important significance for the healthy development of laser corneal refractive surgery.

Abstract:Translational medicine emphasizes the application of the results of basic research to clinical practice and the solution of clinical issues through basic research. It is very important for the development direction of the medical field. Over the past decade, the translational medicine research in ocular surface disease has drawn international attention and developed rapidly. This field in China has made great progress, but overall there are still some gaps with the international advanced level. Abstract:Laser corneal refractive surgery is an effective way for the correction of myopia, and its long-term stability is a common concern of surgeons and patients. However, refractive regression is still one of the most common postoperative long-term complications, which has a great impact on postoperative refractive state and visual quality. Refractive regression may be related to many factors, such as the remodeling of corneal epithelium and stroma, and the imbalance between corneal biomechanics and intraocular pressure. Although enhancement surgery could be a useful way to correct refractive regression, there is a risk of corneal ectasia and other complications. Some intraocular pressure lowering medications can be used to rebuild the balance of intraocular pressure and corneal biomechanics, and to prevent postoperative refractive regression by affecting the thickness of corneal epithelium. To a certain extent, the type, the timing and the way of intraocular pressure lowering medications application may have an impact on the prevention and treatment effect of refractive regression.

Abstract:The current text reviewed the situation of the scientific research in the field of Optometry and visual sciences in the recent 5 to 6 years in our country. It showed the advancement and achievement in the myopic fundamental research and the application research of visual science. In addition, it also analyzed the guidance of research in solving the clinical visual issues and the significance of community service of research in eye care in public. This text indicated by the concrete current situation and the result data of research that the biology and optics, the double property of the eye endowed the distinguished feature to the research in Ophthalmology and Optometry, and that the cross cooperation of multidisciplinary promoted the innovation in the fields of Optometry and visual research. In future, the fields of Optometry and visual science in China will face up to more and more anticipations of the original and systematic research. The prophylaxis and treatment of myopia would be still a long-term and rough exploration theme in these fields.
