Status Quo of Family Function and Its Influential Factors of Hospitalized Patients with Coronary Heart Disease

Abstract:Objective To explore the status quo of family function and its influential factors of patients with coronary heart disease(CHD).Methods A questionnaire survey including the general data questionnaire and APGAR scale developed by Smikstein was conducted in 182 hospitalized patients with CHD in a Grade-III Level-A hospital in Henan province from August 2009 to January 2010.Results The total average score of APGAR was 6.115±2.461 in 182 hospitalized patients,of which 96 cases(52.8%) of the surveyed family were observed with good function,53(29.1%) with moderate dysfunction and 33(47.2%) with severe dysfunction.The patients' age and patients' family functioning score were positively correlated(r=0.20,P0.05).The family function score showed significant differences among patients of different incomes,marital status,residences,heart function,heart functions(P0.05).The binary logistic regression revealed that age,monthly income,heart function had influence on the family function level,of which age and monthly income were the protective factors of the family functions,and cardiac function was a risk factor of family function,and their OR values were 0.924,0.246,2.044,respectively.Conclusion The rural widowed or divorced CHD inpatients with low income and poor heart function is the high risk group of family dysfunction and the focused group of family health care.
