Abstract:China has achieved great progress in building paint,including the development of paint construction tools such as the increase of roller variety,development of spraying machine,application of auxiliary construction equipment,the development of painting construction technologies such as those of Aluminum plastics decorative film and multi-coat metal-glossy paint,renovation and re-painting of old exterior wall as well as construction of functional building paint etc.Analysis is made on the existing problems in the construction of building paint which have affected the application of building paint,in particular,exterior wall paint in China,and restrained its development.

Abstract:The influences of the chemical agents,oxidative modification and coupling treatment for carbon fiber dispersion and binding properties were investigated.The fiber suface morphology was analyzed by the image of fiber analyzer,and the fiber dispersion was reflected by the Zeta potential of slurry,absorbency and digital pictures.The functional paper were prepared with a different ratio of carbon fiber and pulp,and the physical strength and volume resistivity of the paper were tested.The results showed that: the effect of tween-80 was the best in four kinds of chemial agents,coupling modification significantly improved the dispersion performance of carbon fiber,superior than oxidative modification,the increase of the dispersion would enhance the conductivity and physical strength of functional paper,and 30% content of carbon fiber achieved the "percolation threshold" of conductive material.

Abstract:Starting from the decorative effect,applications range,construction and production costs of the coatings etc.,the performance characteristics of sand wall-like architectural coatings were introduced.The advancement of the coatings in recent years was described from the coating performance improvement and enhancement,development of new varieties,expansion of paint application range and progress of construction methods etc..The construction technology of imitation exterior wall brick was the important progress among these coating application.The coating film possessed excellent decorative effect using this construction method,which was featured with process simple,easy operation and implement,and had application value.

Abstract:EFA new type of environment friendship powdered adhesive for wall putty is a new type of necessary accessory material of coating,it is used to prepare putty for interior,exterior wall substituting for inferior building adhesiveand it can also be used to prepare porcelain-like coating and tempered coating.The research train of thought,raw materials,formula and property of powdered adhesive to be used as well as some factors influencing the property of powdered adhesive and putty are introduced such as influence of cellulose content on knife coating of putty and drying time of the putty film,influence of latex powder content on stretch adhesive strength and influence of disperser on blending of putty etc.The method of application and service performance of EFA putty powdered adhesive are introduced.

Abstract:There has been great interest in the research and development of different anti-skid and highly wear-resistant materials that can effectively reduce energy losses and improve efficiency in numerous applications. This article reviews the design, performance, and application of anti-skid and highly wear-resistant coating materials at home and abroad. First, it introduces the structure and mechanism of anti-skid and wear-resistant coatings. The preparation of different anti-slip coatings is mainly accomplished by changing the base material and anti-slip granules as well as the coating method, and the anti-slip performance is determined with the coefficient of friction test. The application mostly encompasses airplane and ocean decks, as well as pedestrian spaces. This review introduces the development status and research progress of metal-based anti-skid coatings and polymer-based anti-skid coatings, which are two groups of pavement. Finally, the challenges and future development directions of this key field are summarized and considered.

Abstract:Coatings provide underlying item surfaces or bulk materials with protection, enhancement, and/or additional usefulness and attributes. Since materials can be modified or enhanced to possess different properties such as mechanical, thermal, or chemical to improve urban built environment functions, nanotechnologies have been widely included in functional coatings in recent years. Recent studies on functional coatings for green and smart buildings are summarized in this review paper. These comprised phase change materials, photocatalytic, hydrophilic, hydrophobic, solar reduction, and solar utilization coatings. This study offers a thorough overview of functional coating methods, from the production of raw materials through their application to building components.

Abstract:With the environmental regulations becoming more stringent and awareness of consumers increasing to protect environment, an urgent problem is to reduce the use of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Powder coating is a kind of solid powder coating without any solvent. Due to its excellent application performance and environment-friendly, it is widely used in the field of metal coating, especially appliances of offices and home. In recent years, the use of powder coatings has been developed very fast and the requirements of functional powder coatings are also gradually strengthened. According to resin of the film forming, powder coatings can be divided into two types: thermosetting powder coatings and thermoplastic powder coatings. Each kind of powder coatings has its own advantages and disadvantages, and they will be applied in different fields. In order to improve the properties of powder coatings, there are many reports and studies about them. The compositions of powder coatings were extruded, crushed and screened to gain powder of coating. The powder always was stored at room temperature. The powder coatings often operated by two kinds which were electrostatic spraying method and fluidized bed dipping method. After that, the powder was heated to melt and cure. Finally, a smooth bright permanent film on articles was formed to achieve the purpose of decoration and corrosion. The process flow preparation of powder coatings always separated into dry process production and wet process production. The development courses of powder coatings about resins, pigments and fillers are summarized. The future development trends of powder coatings are illustrated.

Abstract:Coating technology, as a part of surface engineering, has shown remarkable potential in future industrial applications. With the continuous development and improvement of coating technology, coatings have gradually become an indispensable part of industrial manufacturing, possessing various excellent properties and characteristics, such as superhydrophobicity and self-cleaning, enhanced biological antibacterial properties, and improved corrosion resistance. Intelligent coatings are not only rigid barriers between substrates and the environment but also coatings designed to respond to the environment and improve coating life or achieve certain special functions through this response. Biomimetics is a discipline that studies the structure, function, and behavior of living organisms and applies them to engineering design. Combining bionics with intelligent coating materials can not only improve the performance and functionality of intelligent coatings but also create more intelligent coating materials. This paper includes advanced superhydrophobic intelligent coatings, anticorrosion intelligent coatings, biological antibacterial intelligent coatings, and other intelligent coatings with specific functions. We also provide a detailed overview of the preparation methods and technologies of various representative intelligent coatings, as well as their properties and applications, which will offer some valuable references for the development direction of future intelligent coatings.

Abstract:Abstract In recent years, the requirements for high-quality development in the manufacturing industry and extreme application conditions have increasingly demanded higher equipment performance. The surface and interface condition of components is directly related to the stability, reliability and service life of equipment. The development of high-performance or multi-performance surface texturing is of great significance for the effective improvement of mechanical properties, optical properties, catalytic properties and biological properties of surfaces. This paper summarizes the application of textured surfaces in improving the physical, chemical and biological properties of surfaces; outlines the types of texturing patterns and the design methods; analyzes the main technical methods and their characteristics for the preparation of surface textures in additive manufacturing, subtractive manufacturing and equal material manufacturing; and makes outlooks on texturing surfaces from the aspects of performance enhancement, pattern design and manufacturing technology in combination with the development trend of textured surfaces’ intelligence and digitization.

Abstract:Due to the enhancement of people's environmental awareness, flame-retardant epoxy resin (EP) tends to be non-toxic, efficient, and multi-functional, and its development is systematic. At present, many new flame retardants or intrinsic modification methods reported in studies can effectively improve the flame retardability and thermal stability of EP. However, many aspects still need to be further improved. In this review, the flame-retardant mechanism and method of flame-retardant epoxy resins are briefly analyzed. The research progress of the flame-retardant modification of epoxy resin by physical addition and chemical reaction is summarized and discussed. Furthermore, the research trend of flame-retardant epoxy resin in the field of fire-protective coatings is discussed, and future problems in this field are put forward. This work may provide some new insights for the design of multi-functional integrated epoxy resin fireproof coatings.

Abstract:Coating materials serve the purposes to protect, enhance and/or confer additional functionalities and properties to the underlying object surface or bulk materials. In recent years, nanotechnologies have been extensively incorporated into the functional coatings as manipulation of materials at the nanoscale can impart some unique chemical, mechanical, thermal, surface and photophysical properties that can be exploited to enhance functions required in urban built environments. In this review paper, recent research progresses of several categories of functional coatings were summarized with emphasis on their applications for green and smart buildings. These included hydrophobic coatings, hydrophilic and photocatalytic coatings, coatings for reduction in surface solar radiation as well as phase change materials (PCM) coatings. This review aims to provide a general introduction and research progress on these selected functional coating technologies, starting from the material's fabrication to its application when used in different building components.
