An Airborne Laser (ABL) Weapon Simulation System Based on HLA

Abstract:We,based on the characteristics of ABL weapon system and the principles of High Level Architecture(HLA),design the simulation system.Sections 1,2 and 3 of the full paper explain our design.Section 4 explains how we implemented our design,uses the implemented simulation system to perform anti-missile interception experiments,and then analyzes the simulation results.Section 1 analyzes the attack flow of ABL,and then designs the combat scenario of simulation and the structure of simulation system consisting of six federates.Section 2,based on analyzing the functions of federates,designs OMT,which includes FOM(federation object model) and SOM(simulation object model).Section 3 discusses the implementation of the laser federate of ABL,including function partition,mathematical model design and software structure.Section 4 presents simulation results in Table 5 and Figs.8 and 9,and then analyzes the main factors which affect damage from the viewpoints of both attacker side and defender side.The exploitation of our ABL simulation system is,in our opinion,useful in the analysis and evaluation of the ABL anti-missile efficiency.
