Abstract:Traditional HLA implementations have many shortcomings including lack of unified data type definitions,static allocation of simulation resources,inability to support whole simulation life cycles,insufficient security,and poor fault tolerance.A grid-based simulation architecture was developed to address these issues.The system implements the HLA functions with grid technologies that enable the features of resources sharing,dynamic allocation of resources,strong security,and good fault tolerance.A prototype was developed.Real simulation routines which have run on the prototype show that the grid-based simulation system is effective and practical.
