Abstract:The bounds of concurrence in [F. Mintert, A. Buchleitner, Phys. Rev. Lett. 98 (2007) 140505] and [C. Zhang, et al., Phys. Rev. A 78 (2008) 042308] are proved by using two properties of the fidelity. In two-qubit systems, for a given value of concurrence, the states achieving the maximal upper bound, the minimal lower bound or the maximal difference upper–lower bound are determined analytically.

Abstract:In this Brief Report, we prove that an analytically solvable two-qubit entanglement monotone introduced by Zhang et al. [Phys. Rev. A 76, 032306 (2007)] is no greater than the square of concurrence. This proof is based on the equivalence between Zhang et al.'s monotone and an observable entanglement measure for mixed states suggested by Mintert and Buchleitner [Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 140505 (2007)]. Our result may clarify the connections between several recently defined entanglement measures and help understand their possible applications in quantum-information theory.

Abstract:We study the entanglement of a multipartite quantum state. An inequality between the bipartite concurrence and the multipartite concurrence is obtained. More effective lower and upper bounds of the multipartite concurrence are obtained. By using the lower bound, the entanglement of more multipartite states are detected.

Abstract:The dynamics of the quantum entanglement is a fundamental characteristic for various quantum systems. Since the computable entanglement measure for higher dimensional quantum states itself is absent, the dynamics of the entanglement expressed in an operational method will be of interest. We study the dynamics of tau, an analytical lower bound of squared concurrence, of a bipartite d circle times d quantum state when one party goes through an arbitrary noisy channel. For a pure input state, the range of tau is obtained explicitly. For a mixed input state, an upper bound of tau is found. Interestingly, the tangle tau('), as an upper bound of squared concurrence, also has a similar dynamical property. Our results are similar to that of Konrad and can help the estimation of high-dimension bipartite entanglement in experiments.

Abstract:A fundamental task in any physical theory is to quantify a certain physical quantity in a meaningful way. In this paper, we show that both fidelity distance and affinity distance satisfy the strong contractibility, and the corresponding resource quantifiers can be used to characterize a large class of resource theories. Under two assumptions, namely, convexity of "free states" and closure of free states under "selective free operations," our general framework of resource theory includes quantum resource theories of entanglement, coherence, partial coherence, and superposition. In partial coherence theory, we show that fidelity of partial coherence of a bipartite state is equal to the minimal error probability of a mixed quantum state discrimination task and vice versa, which complements the main result in Xiong and Wu [J. Phys. A: Math. Theor. 51, 414005 (2018)]. We also compute the analytic expression of fidelity of partial coherence for (2, n) bipartite X states. At last, we study the correlated coherence in the framework of partial coherence theory. We show that partial coherence of a bipartite state, with respect to the eigenbasis of a subsystem, is actually a measure of discord-type quantum correlation.

Abstract:We study the entanglement of multipartite quantum states. Some lower bounds of the multipartite concurrence are reviewed. We further present more effective lower bounds for detecting and qualifying entanglement, by establishing functional relations between the concurrence and the generalized partial transpositions of the multipartite systems.

Abstract:Quantum discord is viewed as the measure of quantum correlation which can be nonzero even when entanglement in the system is zero. We study two properties of quantum discord: the upper bound and the continuity. We prove the upper bound of quantum discord in terms of the coherent information for any quantum state and discuss the condition for the reachable upper bound. If two states are close to each other, then we find that quantum discord has little change and provides a bound with respect to this small change.

Abstract:We present observable upper bounds for the squared concurrence, which are the dual inequalities of the observable lower bounds introduced by Mintert and Buchleitner [Phys. Rev. Lett. 98, 140505 (2007)] and Aolita [Phys. Rev. A 78, 022308 (2008)]. These bounds can be used to estimate entanglement for arbitrary experimental unknown finite-dimensional states by a few experimental measurements on a twofold copy rho circle times rho of the mixed states. Furthermore, the degree of mixing for a mixed state and some properties of the linear entropy also have certain relations with the upper and lower bounds of its squared concurrence.

We introduce some estimations of the lower bounds for the entanglement of formation in bipartite mixed states, and of lower bounds for the concurrence in bipartite and tripartite systems. Abstract:We experimentally measure the lower and upper bounds of concurrence for a set of two-qubit mixed quantum states using photonic systems. The measured concurrence bounds are in agreement with the results evaluated from the density matrices reconstructed through quantum state tomography. In our experiment, we propose and demonstrate a simple method for providing two faithful copies of a two-photon mixed state required for parity measurements: two photon pairs generated by two neighboring pump-laser pulses through optical parametric down-conversion processes represent two identical copies. This method can be conveniently generalized for entanglement estimation of multiphoton mixed states.

Abstract:We derive an analytical lower bound for the concurrence of a bipartite quantum state in arbitrary dimension. A functional relation is established relating concurrence, the Peres-Horodecki criterion, and the realignment criterion. We demonstrate that our bound is exact for some mixed quantum states. The significance of our method is illustrated by giving a quantitative evaluation of entanglement for many bound entangled states, some of which fail to be identified by the usual concurrence estimation method.

Abstract:In this paper we investigate two different entanglement measures in the case of mixed states of two qubits. We prove that the negativity of a state can never exceed its concurrence and is always larger than √[(1 − C)2 + C2] − (1 − C), where C is the concurrence of the state. Furthermore, we derive an explicit expression for the states for which the upper or lower bound is satisfied. Finally we show that similar results hold if the relative entropy of entanglement and the entanglement of formation are compared.

Abstract:Quantum speed limit is a fundamental speed limit for the evolution of quantum states. It is the single-most important interpretation of the time energy uncertainty relation. Recently the speed limit of quantum correlations have been proposed like the concurrence for pure quantum states. In this direction, we derive a speed limit bound for a quantum correlation named the concurrence for the generally mixed quantum states of two qubits. By this we mean that we find an expression for the minimum time required to reach a given value of entanglement starting from an arbitrary initial generally mixed state. We discuss the connection of the findings of this article in the interdisciplinary area of the condensed matter physics or the many body physics and quantum information science such as on the topic of Lieb-Robinson bound in a quantitative manner.
