Abstract:Oil monitoring constitutes an important and essential component of condition monitoring technologies and has distinguished advantages in revealing wear, lubrication and friction conditions of tribo-pairs. Newly developed on-line/in-line oil monitoring technologies extend the merits into real-time applications and demonstrate significant benefits in maintenance and management of equipment. This paper comprehensively reviews the progress of on-line/in-line oil monitoring techniques including sensor technologies, their scopes and industrial applications. Based on the existing developments and applications of the sensors for oil quality and wear debris measurements, the trends for future sensor developments are discussed with focuses on accurate, integrated and intelligent features along with exploring a fundamental issue, that is, acquiring the knowledge on degradation mechanisms which has not received sufficient attention until now. Current status of applications of on-line oil monitoring is also reviewed. Although limited reports have been found on this topic, increasing awareness and encouraging progress in on-line monitoring techniques are recognized in applications such as aircraft, shipping, railway, mining, etc. Key fundamental issues for further extending the on-line oil monitoring techniques in industries are proposed and they include long-term reliability of sensors in harsh conditions, and agreement with fault or maintenance determination.

Abstract:Potential faults can be timely detected through online monitoring to the dissolved gases in the transformer oil so as to improve the safety of the electric power system. Firstly, the online monitoring technology of dissolved gases in the transformer oil is discussed in detail. Then, a low cost monitoring method to the characteristics gas dissolved in the transformer oil by using the semiconductor sensor array is put forward in this paper. In order to solve the cross sensitivity problem of a single gas sensor to the gaseous mixture, a signal-purifying method of gas sensor array based on neural network is introduced and used to settle the cross sensitivity problems among the characteristic gases when different sensors are used to monitor the gases concentration in the system. On this basis, a wireless monitoring system to the dissolved gases in the transformer oil is developed. The development system can realize to on-tine monitor the characteristic gases dissolved in the transformer oil such as hydrogen, methane, ethane, ethene, acetylene, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide. And, the transformer condition information can also be transmitted in a wireless, long-distance, rapid and low-cost way for the system.

Abstract:Aiming at shooting the shortage of real-time and continuous coral reef ecological environment monitoring technology,this study put forward a solution of coral reef online monitoring system.It connects the seabed system by submarine cable and transfers the data to shore base stations,then shore based control system transmits the monitoring data to the control center through ground networks,It realizes the long-term,real-time,in situ and on-line observation of the factors such as temperature,salinity,depth,chlorophyll,dissolved oxygen,pH,turbidity,velocity profile and underwater HD video.Through deploying the system in the target site and business operation demonstration,we have got a lot of first-hand ecological environment data.It has important scientific significance for further assessing the actual situation and analyzing the evolution of coral reef community.

Abstract:A new on-line information monitoring system, which is aimed at working condition and faults diagnosis of oilfield centrifugal waterflooding pumps, is developed. The maximum entropy method is used firstly in the system, and an accurate model is set to stand for the machine's operating condition. The system solves the problems of the traditional on-line analysis method, such as the window function and energy leak, and promote fault recognition rate. The on-site monitoring in Shengli Oilfield shows that, the system can locate precisely the latent faults of the centrifugal waterflooding pumps, providing basis for maintenance.

Abstract:The latest technical developments all over the world of on-line monitoring of dissolved gas in transformer oil are introduced. Combined with on-line monitoring principle, its monitoring processes are described. The gas-oil separation technique and the gas separation and detection technique are emphasized. The technical features and application prospets of different methods are discussed. Performance comparison of several gas-oil separation methods shows that the polymer gas separation membrane method is the fittest one for on-line monitoring of dissolved gas in transformer oil. Some transformer fault diagnosis methods based on DGA(Dissolved Gas Analysis) are reviewed. Since the data acquisition conditions of on-line monitoring and off-line monitoring are different, the corresponding processing methods are different.

Abstract:To solve the problems that system runs unstable,more manual intervention,easy sticky material,easily influenced by temperature or humidity,and lack of efficient non configuration management software,a new system,which composed of oil-wa-ter monitoring instrument upon electromagnetic ware,GPRS wireless communication technology,lower system of data acquisition module and upper system of non-configuration management software,measured and managed the oil-water level in crude oil tank. By simulation data,testing in laboratory virtual environment and implicating in an oil extraction station of Northern Shaanxi,the system is demonstrated running stable, measuring accuracy, operating easily and can provide the help for efficient monitor and management of the oil-water level of crude oil tank.

Abstract:Emissions from mobile sources and stationary sources contribute to atmospheric pollution in China, and its components, which include ultrafine particles (UFPs), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other reactive gases, such as NH<sub>3</sub> and NO<sub>x</sub>, are the most harmful to human health. China has released various regulations and standards to address pollution from mobile and stationary sources. Thus, it is urgent to develop online monitoring technology for atmospheric pollution source emissions. This study provides an overview of the main progress in mobile and stationary source monitoring technology in China and describes the comprehensive application of some typical instruments in vital areas in recent years. These instruments have been applied to monitor emissions from motor vehicles, ships, airports, the chemical industry, and electric power generation. Not only has the level of atmospheric environment monitoring technology and equipment been improving, but relevant regulations and standards have also been constantly updated. Meanwhile, the developed instruments can provide scientific assistance for the successful implementation of regulations. According to the potential problem areas in atmospheric pollution in China, some research hotspots and future trends of atmospheric online monitoring technology are summarized. Furthermore, more advanced atmospheric online monitoring technology will contribute to a comprehensive understanding of atmospheric pollution and improve environmental monitoring capacity.

A New Health Monitoring Technique On Submarine Pipeline

Abstract:Submarine pipeline system is a main pattern in collection and transmission of offshore oil and gas, which sends oil and gas from offshore to onshore terminal, and it plays an important role in offshore oil and gas development. Because of the complicated and harsh working condition in which pipeline system works, such as impulsion, corrosion and free-spanning vibration, failure of submarine pipeline system occurs occasionally, it causes oil leakage, environment pollution and economic losses. Health monitoring is a feasible and effective manner to ensure submarine pipeline safety and reliability during service life, especially when all factors affecting pipeline failure are not still entirely realized or controlled. The practical strategy of a new real-time monitoring system for long distance submarine pipeline is introduced in this paper, which has the function of diagnosis and auto-alarm. In this system, a new distributed optical fiber sensor ( DOFS), which uses optical time domain reflectometry theory based on Brillouin backscatter, is applied to monitor the strain and temperature along the pipeline. In addition to, Wavelength Division Multiplex (WDM) technology and series DOFS are also applied to extend the measure scope for long distance submarine pipeline By using signal processing system to analyze the outcome data of sensor, the strain along the pipeline can be obtained. If the strain reaches the alarm setting, the system will send out caution and meanwhile accurately give the dangerous position, The system can also analyses vibration frequency of pipeline, if free-spanning vibration occurs, caution will also be,given, so that the operator can take some measures in time to avoid the failure of pipeline. In this paper, the makeup and development principle of distributed optical fiber sensor are specified, the development, application and assembly of system in engineering are introduced as well. The brand new practical system can not only be used for submarine oil and gas pipeline but also for oil and gas transfer system in land, city coal gas transfer system, electricity-transmission cable, great span bridge, and so on. This system can also be widely used in many prospects of other industries.

Abstract:Pipeline is the most economical and efficient way of oil transportation, pipeline integrity management is an effective means to prevent pipeline accidents and ensure the safe operation of pipelines economically and reasonably, timely and accurate pipeline leakage monitoring can greatly reduce the consequences of accidents, which is a crucial part of pipeline integrity management. Pipeline leakage monitoring in China has a long history, but there is no systematic . The monitoring methods for oil pipeline in China are reviewed and analyzed from the levels of national and industrial, by surveying the mileage of oil pipelines, leakage accidents, laws and regulations, and pipeline working conditions in recent years. The principles and research status of oil pipeline leakage monitoring methods are introduced in detail, and various methods are divided into hardware and software by the different acquisition and processing methods of leakage signals. Finally, the development trend of pipeline leakage monitoring method in the future is summarized and predicted: the combination of software and hardware, the efficient collection and processing of data, the intelligent analysis and diagnosis of working conditions, and the integration of information systems.

Abstract:As a means of detecting and assisting maintenance of power equipment, on-line condition monitoring(CM) has been widely used in power generation, transmission, substation, distribution, consumption and other fields in the past few decades. This paper reviews current on-line condition monitoring techniques and development trends of condition monitoring. In the context of ‘Ubiquitous Internet of things’, on-line condition monitoring is surely a promising way towards reliable protection of electrical equipment. However, in spite of obvious progress and undoubted benefits, the on-line condition monitoring system has also experienced a large number of practical problems in the application process such as generally low data availability and reliability. Furthermore, statistics on relative standards show a dramatic blank in international standards of on-line condition monitoring. Therefore, there is an urgent need that the international standards for condition monitoring should be set up as soon as possible. Corresponding areas for further research are also presented such as uncertainty evaluation, error modeling and evaluation system based on sequential control. It is intended that this review will provide the basis for future developments of safe and reliable on-line condition monitoring system.

Abstract:An on-line wear condition monitoring system is introduced for marine diesel engine. The system is capable of detecting particle, lubricant quality, shaft torque moment and transient rotation velocity. It detects the wear particles in lubricant with on-line ferrograph so as to show the wear condition of the tribo-pairs. The variation of the dielectric constant of lubricant by pollutant (such as water and metal particles) is measured by grid capacitance sensors, while the shaft torque moment and transient rotation velocity are measured by photoelectric sensors.

Abstract:Oil spills cause serious harm to aquatic ecosystems, so rapid and accurate monitoring is needed to take timely action. Traditional methods usually use satellite remote sensing, buoy sensors, or unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Satellite remote sensing is affected by resolution, transit time, and weather conditions, so it is impossible to monitor oil spills in small-scale and inclement weather conditions continuously and accurately. Buoy monitoring is a point-based measurement, unable to obtain the oil spill distribution, UAVs are limited by endurance time, and cannot conduct long-term monitoring. Here shore-based hyperspectral scanning image technology is proposed, which combines hyperspectral image and remote sensing technology with high resolution and spectral extraction capabilities. This method provides long-term, high-frequency, and real-time monitoring, forecasting, and early warning. A shore-based hyperspectral imaging device was developed to complete the actual field data acquisition and model verification in Three Gorges of China. The results show the precision of oil spill recognition is 84%, and the oil spill recall rate is 89% using the developed weighted CatBoost oil spill classification. The water recognition is close to 100%. The recall rate is also near 100%. The average relative error of oil spill thickness based on the multi-scale continuous wavelet transform model is 23.1%, which shows that the method is effective and can be extended in the oil-spill monitoring for ports, factories, and pipelines.
