Abstract:Liu Tongfang 1 Human nature is the starting point and foundation of all philosophical problems.From the dialectical unified theory of universality and particularity perspective,Marx investigated the human nature,mainly based on factual judgment while giving attention to value judgment,to elucidate different forms of displaying humanity in human property,and his thought is a scientific thought of human nature.The result of modernity,globalization process,social structure institutionalization,and its operational mode which was created by realistic human aggregate,is a challenge to the bottom line of human as well.The problem of alienation runs through it.From the height and depth of human liberation,we should seek converging interests of all mankind,clarify the relationship between system criterion and humanity freedom,for the spiritual alienation tendency can be got rid of by the elasticity of system criterion and the guide of the humanity to system.All this is a successful road to human liberation.

Abstract:Human form is the premise to define human beings. Amongst the relationships of man, human naturality and human nature, man is the carrier of the other two; and human naturality refers to the corporal property of human beings, which is man's biological feature; and human nature is the spiritual attribute of human beings, which is man's ethical and moral feature. Human naturality is the counterpart of human nature. Mankind is born with human naturality. It is not exclusive to man, but shared by other creatures. However, human nature is man's moral property, which is an ethical term. Human nature is only used to define human beings. Other creatures cannot have it. Moreover, human nature is acquired rather than innate. Human naturality can be inherited, but human nature has to be formed in a certain ethical environment, and perfected via moral teachings. The existing discussions on the issues of whether man is born good or evil show more or. Jess misreading and misunderstanding of the definition of human nature. It is not until we clearly define the concepts of man, instinct, natuality, human naturality and human nature that we are able to completely understand what human nature is.

Abstract:Human nature is a contested concept and notions of it vary across disciplines. Despite this diversity, three basic notions of human nature emerge. One identifies human nature with properties that are innate, hardwired or products of some kind of necessary essence. Another understands it as consisting of properties that make human unique or distinct from non-human animals. Finally, some seek human nature by attempting to identify universal or near-universal properties of humans. While the sciences might not give us a robust form of innate or hardwired human nature, “human nature” as a concept might still serve other, non-scientific, goals.

Abstract:Humanity as a moral principle has the broad and the narrow sense. Humanity in its broad sense is the love for all humanity as human being represents the ultimate value. It requires kind treatment and love of all men out of the belief that man himself is the ultimate value. It is the behavior of regarding man as man. 'Regarding man as man' is the broad, primary and basic principle to judge if a behavior is humane. In its narrow sense, humanity means the behavior to turn man into his possible perfection out of the belief that the perfection of man is of the ultimate value. It is turning man into man. 'Turning man into man' is the strict, deep-level and advanced principle to judge if a behavior is humane or not. Although humanity is the uppermost moral principle of kind treatment of man in general, in essence it is the utmost principle for the ruling in dealing with the ruled. It is the uppermost principle for governing the society. Correspondingly, humanity is an ideal theory for ruling the society and turning the society into a humane one, where humanism becomes the utmost ruling principle.

Abstract:Han Feizi’s understanding of human nature is far more complicated than the doctrine of evil human nature. He acknowledges that there is goodness in human nature, and it could render people to live peacefully in affluence. But in scarcity, the goodness in human nature becomes ineffective, and the pursuit of material profit becomes the main driver of human actions. While the majority can only calculate short-term material interests, the minority can do long-term planning. Besides, vanity, a unique quality of human, is a secondary driving force of human actions. Han Feizi acknowledges that only a handful of people can transcend the pursuit of material profit and vanity, and hold onto virtues instead. However, these people are the disruptors of a political regime, and should not be encouraged. Han Feizi argues that the avoidance of harm is a more powerful driving force, compared with the pursuit of profit, in which he emphasizes punishment rather than reward in regulating people’s behaviors.

Abstract:The term “human nature” originates from the ancient Greek word ■, referring to the whole process of growth with connection to the ancient Greek cosmology in earlier period. However, since 17 th century, this term has acquired several new senses such as（1） the common features of all human being;（2） given rather than man-made;（3） non-changeable by human will. These senses are quite closed to the basic senses of the term renxing in ancient Chinese texts. Since Kant defined the term “human nature” on basis of the distinction between nature and freedom, between experience and transcendence as well as between phenomenon and essence, his conception of human nature has shaped the usage of this term in the West to a large degree after him. There are varieties of schools of human nature in the West, including the classic metaphysical theories, the theory about the state of nature, the Christian theories of human being, modern/contemporary philosophy, the theories of human nature in modern social/natural sciences（such as sociology, psychology, behavior science, linguistics, biology, etc.）. The major topics/disputes of human nature in the West might be the discussions about（1） empirical or transcendental dimensions;（2） if or not human nature exists;（3） if or not human nature is changeable;（4） if or not human nature is good;（5） the essential parts of human nature. While there are many similarities between Chinese and Western theories of human nature（for example, the human nature is empirical or transcendental）, the biggest differences might be seen by the following phenomena: the traditional Chinese theory of human nature takes the moral lives as its major topic and focuses on if human nature is good or not; however, the Western theories of human nature tend to take the objective knowledge of human nature as its major pursuit, the good-evil problem of human nature has not been the central topic in the West except in Christianity, theory of the state of nature as well as in Kant’s moral philosophy.

Abstract:To understand dehumanization, we must understand how humans are contrasted with nonhumans. Our work (Haslam, 2006) proposes two forms of dehumanization, in which people are denied uniquely human attributes and likened to animals, or denied human nature attributes and likened to robots. In the light of this model, we examined the mental capacities that are believed to differentiate humans from animals, robots, and supernatural beings in three cultures (Australia, China, Italy). Cross-culturally consistent patterns emerged, with humans differing from nonhumans; on two dimensions that Closely resembled our two proposed forms of humanness. Compared to humans, animals were seen as lacking higher cognitive powers and refined emotion, but also as having superior perceptual capacities. Robots chiefly lacked emotion- and desire-related capacities. Supernatural beings had superior cognitive and perceptual capacities. Implications for dehumanization are discussed.

Abstract:Objectives This study aims to explore the goodness of human nature, focusing on the empirical research of Bregman and Tomasello, to find the meaning of moral education and to suggest practical directions. Methods To this end, representative cases that seem to represent the wickedness of human nature were explored and objected based on Bregman's research. And through Tomasello's research, this study attempted to examine the experimental results that could prove the goodness of human nature and the human moral evolution scenario from a reasonable perspective. Based on this, an attempt was made to induce the formation of a positive perspective on humans in moral subject education and to suggest the direction of moral education. Results Bregman corrects errors by re-examining war and slaughter, psychology experiments, and media reports that seem to reveal the wickedness of human nature. In the process, he found that many participants showed good motivational behavior. Tomasello revealed the inherently moral aspect of modern humans through evolutionary psychology experiments. And he constructed the evolutionary process of morality leading to large apes, early humans, and modern humans through the interdependence hypothesis. As a result, an empirical and scientific basis was established for teachers to form a positive perspective on children in moral education. Conclusions The results of Bregman and Tomasello's research demonstrate the goodness of human nature empirically and scientifically. Considering this, participants in moral education, especially teachers, will be able to indirectly influence based on a positive perspective on humans in general, and will be able to conceive and practice direct educational activities.

Differences in the View of Human Nature between Eastern and Western Cultures and Its Influence on Moral Cognition

Abstract:The view of human nature-that is, whether human nature is good or evil-is not only the focus of philosophy but also a lay theory formed in daily life. Review of Chinese and Western cultures shows that Western culture is dominated by the theory of the original evil of human nature while Eastern culture is dominated by the theory of the original goodness of human nature. This study supported its conclusion through empirical data and found that Chinese participants subjective evaluations of human nature was more inclined toward goodness than American participants (Study 1). This difference in the view of human nature led to higher requirements for Chinese people in terms of morality, especially normative morality (good deeds) (Study 1), and this causal relationship was supported by a priming experiment (Study 2). These findings help us to better understand how culture shapes people's perceptions of human nature and morality.

Abstract:Being a humanistic system, constitutionalism contains a high humanistic spirit. Three lines can be taken while we are analyzing humanism in the context of constitutionalism. Firstly, toward the essence of humanism, constitutionalism tends to adopt a pessimistic attitude, namely, it is ready to assume that humanism is inherently evil.
