Abstract:Transcendental holomorphic Morse inequalities aim at characterizing the positivity of transcendental cohomology classes of type $(1,1)$. In this paper, we prove a weak version of Demailly's conjecture on transcendental Morse inequalities on compact Kähler manifolds. And as a consequence, we partially improve a result of Boucksom-Demailly-Paun-Peternell.

Abstract:We extend our earlier work in [TZ1], where an analytic approach to the Guillemin-Sternberg conjecture [GS] was developed, to cases where the Spin^c-complex under consideration is allowed to be further twisted by certain exterior power bundles of the cotangent bundle. The main result is a weighted quantization formula in the presence of commuting Hamiltonian actions. The corresponding Morse-type inequalities in holomorphic situations are also established.

Abstract:In this paper, we establish strong holomorphic Morse inequalities on non-compact manifolds under the condition of optimal fundamental estimates. We show that optimal fundamental estimates are satisfied and then strong holomorphic Morse inequalities hold true in various settings.

Abstract:On symplectic manifolds, we introduce a Morse-type complex with elements generated by pairs of critical points of a Morse function. The differential of the complex consists of gradient flows and an integration of the symplectic structure over spaces of gradient flow lines. Using the Witten deformation method, we prove that the cohomology of this complex is independent of both the Riemannian metric and the Morse function used to define the complex and is in fact isomorphic to the cohomology of differential forms of Tsai, Tseng and Yau (TTY). We also obtain Morse-type inequalities that bound the dimensions of the TTY cohomologies by the number of Morse critical points and the interaction of symplectic structure with the critical points.

Abstract:We establish Morse inequalities for a noncompact manifold with a cocompact and properly discontinuous action of a discrete group, where Morse functions are not necessarily invariant under the group action. The inequalities are given in terms of the $L^2$-Betti numbers and functions on the acting group which describe rough configurations of critical points of a Morse function.

Abstract:In this note, we will prove an inequality for almost plurisubharmonic functions on any Kahler-Einstein manifolds with positive scalar curvature. This inequality generalizes the stronger version of the so called Moser-Trudinger-Onofri inequality on S-2, which was proved in [Au], and also refines a weaker inequality found by the first author in [T2].

Abstract:Let $(X,\omega)$ be an $n$-dimensional compact Hermitian manifold with $\omega$ a pluriclosed Hermitian metric, i.e. $dd^c\omega=0$. Let $\{\alpha\},\{\beta \}\in H^{1,1}_{BC}(X,\mathbb R)$ be two nef classes, such that $\alpha^n-n\alpha^{n-1}\cdot\beta>0$. In this short note, we prove that if there is a bounded quasi-plurisubharmonic potential $\rho$, such that $\alpha+dd^c\rho\geq 0$ in the weak sense of currents, then the class $\{\alpha-\beta\}$ contains a Kähler current. This gives a partial solution of Demailly's transcendental Morse inequalities conjecture.

For a class of Morse forms, converges to some as , uniformly on . We describe in terms of the instantons of an auxiliary Smale gradient-like vector field X and the Mathai–Quillen current on defined by g. Any real 1-cohomology class has a representative satisfying the hypothesis. If n is even, we can prescribe any real value for by perturbing g, and X and achieve the same limit as . This is used to define and describe certain tempered distributions induced by g and . These distributions appear in another publication as contributions from the preserved leaves in a trace formula for simple foliated flows, giving a solution to a problem stated by C. Deninger.

Abstract:In this paper, we compute the Morse index of rotationally symmetric minimal Y-singular surfaces under assumption that the Y-singularities form a single circle. This computation is carried out by utilizing information from two simpler problems: the first deals with the fixed boundary problem on singularities, and the second focuses on the Dirichlet-to-Neumann map associated with the stability operator. Notably, our findings reveal that the index of the Y -catenoid is one.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose an inequality conjecture for the dimensions of derivation Lie algebras associated to isolated complete intersection singularities. We verify this conjecture for simple and unimodal isolated complete intersection singularities. We also construct several new one-parameter families of solvable Lie algebras from T-10, R-9, U11, V-10, Y-11, and M-11 singularities and show that the weak Torelli-type theorem holds. Holomorphic Witten instanton complexes on stratified pseudomanifolds with Kähler wedge metrics

Abstract:We construct Witten instanton complexes for Kähler Hamiltonian Morse functions on stratified pseudomanifolds with wedge Kähler metrics satisfying a local conformally totally geodesic condition. We use this to extend Witten's holomorphic Morse inequalities for the $L^2$ cohomology of Dolbeault complexes, deriving versions for Poincaré Hodge polynomials, the spin Dirac and signature complexes for which we prove rigidity results, in particular establishing the rigidity of $L^2$ de Rham cohomology for these circle actions. We study formulas for Rarita Schwinger operators, generalize formulas studied by Witten and Gibbons-Hawking for the equivariant signature and extend formulas used to compute NUT charges of gravitational instantons. We discuss conjectural inequalities extending known Lefschetz-Riemann-Roch formulas for other cohomology theories including those of Baum-Fulton-Quart. This article contains the first extension of Witten's holomorphic Morse inequalities and instanton complexes to singular spaces.

Almost Hermitian structures on moduli spaces of non-Abelian monopoles and applications to the topology of symplectic four-manifolds

Abstract:This work is a sequel to our previous monograph <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2010.15789" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2010.15789">arXiv:2010.15789</a> (to appear in AMS Memoirs), where we initiated our program to prove that the Bogomolov-Miyaoka-Yau inequality holds for closed, symplectic four-manifolds and, more generally, for closed, smooth four-manifolds with a Seiberg-Witten basic class. This inequality was first proved for compact, complex surfaces of general type by Miyaoka (1977) and Yau (1978). Our approach uses a version of Morse theory for a natural Hamiltonian, the square of the $L^2$ norm of the coupled spinors, for the circle action on the moduli space of non-Abelian monopoles over a closed four-manifold. It has the aim of proving the existence of a projectively anti-self-dual connection on a rank-two Hermitian vector bundle over a blow-up of the four-manifold, where the first Pontrjagin number of the vector bundle is negative and greater than or equal to minus the Euler characteristic of the blown-up four-manifold. Our Morse theory argument relies on positivity of virtual Morse-Bott indices for critical points of Hamiltonians for circle actions on complex analytic spaces (or real analytic spaces that, locally, are sufficiently well-approximated by complex analytic model spaces), as developed by the first author in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2206.14710" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2206.14710">arXiv:2206.14710</a>. In our application to the moduli space of non-Abelian monopoles, the critical points are fixed points of the circle action and thus represented by Seiberg-Witten monopoles.

Abstract:The number of Morse points in a Morsification determines the topology of the Milnor fibre of a holomorphic function germ $f$ with isolated singularity. If $f$ has an arbitrary singular locus, then this nice relation to the Milnor fibre disappears. We show that despite this loss, the numbers of stratified Morse singularities of a general linear Morsification are effectively computable in terms of topological invariants of $f$.

Abstract:Comparing invariants from both topological and geometric perspectives is a key focus in index theorem. This paper compares higher analytic and topological torsions and establishes a version of the higher Cheeger-Müller/Bismut-Zhang theorem. In fact, Bismut-Goette achieved this comparison assuming the existence of fiberwise Morse functions satisfying the fiberwise Thom-Smale transversality condition (TS condition). To fully generalize the theorem, we should remove this assumption. Notably, unlike fiberwise Morse functions, fiberwise generalized Morse functions (GMFs) always exist, we extend Bismut-Goette's setup by considering a fibration $ M \to S $ with a unitarily flat complex bundle $ F \to M $ and a fiberwise GMF $ f $, while retaining the TS condition. Compared to Bismut-Goette's work, handling birth-death points for a generalized Morse function poses a key difficulty. To address this, first, by the work of the author M.P., joint with Zhang and Zhu, we focus on a relative version of the theorem. Here, analytic and topological torsions are normalized by subtracting their corresponding torsions for trivial bundles. Next, using new techniques from by the author J.Y., we excise a small neighborhood around the locus where $f$ has birth-death points. This reduces the problem to Bismut-Goette's settings (or its version with boundaries) via a Witten-type deformation. However, new difficulties arise from very singular critical points during this <a class="link-external link-http" href="http://deformation.To" rel="external noopener nofollow">this http URL</a> address these, we extend methods from Bismut-Lebeau, using Agmon estimates for noncompact manifolds developed by Dai and J.Y.
