Abstract:Background: This study aimed to empirically examine the influence of China’s macroeconomic development on the height of Chinese youth in the past 30 years, using provincial panel data collected from more than one million children. Methods: Panel data from seven longitudinal surveys (1985, 1991, 1995, 2000, 2005, 2010, and 2014) of the Chinese National Surveys on Students’ Constitution and Health, including students aged 7–22 years from 27 provinces, were utilized for data analysis. Fixed-effects models were used to estimate the association between economic growth and height. Results: For every 1% increase in per capita disposable income (PCDI), the average height of students significantly increased by approximately 0.009%. Stated another way, this implies that a doubling of income is associated with 0.9% increase in height, which is significant for height. The coefficient of PCDI in the last decade is higher than that of in the early two decades. The average height of boys was approximately 3.9% higher than that of girls. The average height difference between high and low ages in the sample was 1.9%. The impact of policies on students' height was extremely small and may have little practical significance. Conclusion: China’s economic growth has a significant positive effect on the height of urban Chinese students without stagnation.
Condition of Physical Constitution Development of Li Nationality Pupils in Hainan Province

Abstract:Objective To study the condition of physical constitution development of Li nationality pupils in Hainan, so as to provide evidence for implementing school health care. Methods According to "Investigation Handbook for Students’ Physical Constitution and Health of China in 2005",body height,body weight, chest circumference and Ververck index of Li nationality pupils(aged 7-12) were measured.Data were compared with those of Hainan and the whole nation in 2000, respectively. Results The average increment of body height was 4.4 cm and 4.7 cm and that of body weight was 2.5 kg and 3.0 kg for boys and girls respectively; the average increment of chest circumference was 1.2 cm and 1.8 cm and that of Ververck index was 1.2 and 1.4 for boys and girls respectively. Comparing data of 2006 with data of 2000 in Hainan, their increments were all higher than before, however, their increments were all lower than the national levels in 2000. Conclusion Interventions on nutrition and physical exercise should be implemented so as to improve pupils’ health according to the characteristics of physical constitution growth of Li nationality pupils.

Abstract:Objective To know the health condition changes on growth and development of Dai students in Xishuangbana in recent 20 years,and to supply the evidence of youth growth and development research.Methods Using the data from National Survey on Students' Health Condition from 1985 to 2005,the changes of growth and development and sport constitution were analyzed by using epidemiological description.Results The shape indicators were increasing,such as body height,weight,chest measurement,shoulder and pelvises with the student age increasing from 1985 to 2005.The speed of growth and weight increasing every year were the same with Han,Naxi,Hani,and Wa people in Yunnan in 1985.The increasing level in every 10 years is lower than China countryside level.In the sport constitution,the power,flexibility and female students' endurance were increasing,the other indicators were stop or down trend.Conclusion The shape growth is growing continually;The sport quality has presented the overall stagnation drop condition since 1991.

Abstract:Objective To study the development and growth status among students in Beijing in 2010,and to analyze the urban-rural differences and gender differences,and to provide appropriate information for the related research.Methods According to the 2010 Beijing student physical constitution survey data,the indices of the survey were compared between boys and girls or urban and rural areas.Results There were differences between urban and rural areas in the height and weight,the rural-urban difference of weight for girls eliminated earlier than that for boys.There was significant gender differences for dynamic change of growth process and final height.For the detection rate of overweight/obesity,boys' was higher than girls',the urban was higher than the rural.For the detection rate of malnutrition,girls' was higher than boys',the urban was higher than the rural.Conclusion The urban-rural gap of growth and development is still significant among children and adolescents in Beijing.In order to eliminate differences between urban and rural children,some comprehensive measurement should be taken.

Abstract:Objective This paper analyzed the changes of the physical development of students in rural area of Chang'an District during the ten years from 1990 through 1999.Methods Stratified and cluster sampling method were applied to collect two parameters (body height and weight)of students of every primary school and high school in Chang'an District.Results The physical development of rural students in Chang'an District improved significantly during the ten years.In the decade,the mean height of male and female of rural students aged 7_18 years old increased 2^23cm and 1^93cm respectively while the average of their weight increased 1^74kg and 1^21kg respectively.But these values increased were lower than that of rural students in the national investigation of China.The maximum annual increment and the maximum annual incremental rate in 1999 were lower than those in 1990.The peak height velocity and the peak weight velocity of female students in 1999 appeared 0^77 and 0^32 year earlier than in 1990 while that of the male student were 0^52 and 0^6 year later respectively. Couclusions The physical cevelopment of rural students in the area was still progresing as that shown in secular growth trend,but the velocity became slower.The growth potential of the students remained to be brought into full play.

Abstract:Objective: Using the Chinese National Survey on Students' Constitution and Health data from 1985 to 2014 to analyze the trend of excellent and good physical fitness and health status among Chinese Han students aged 13 to 18 years and the related influencing factors. Methods: 738 523 students aged 13 to 18 years with completed data of gender, age, urban and rural, physical form, vital capacity and physical fitness were selected from the six Chinese National Surveys on Students' Constitution and Health. According to National Standards for Students' Physical Health (2014 revision), the comprehensive scores and the prevalence of excellent and good physical fitness and health status were calculated (90.0-120.0 was classified as excellent, and 80.0-89.9 was classified as good). The trend of prevalence of excellent and good physical fitness and health status in different years and the corresponding differences among students with different characteristics were analyzed and compared. The log-binomial regression model was used to analyze related factors of physical fitness and health status. Results: From 1985 to 2014, the overall prevalence of excellent and good physical fitness and health status increased from 27.6% in 1985 to 35.6% in 1995, and then declined to 13.9% in 2005. In the 2010 and 2014 cycles, the prevalence increased steadily, at 16.5% and 19.1% respectively. Except for 1995 and 2014, the prevalence of boys was higher than that of girls (P<0.001). The prevalence of students aged 13 to 15 was higher than that of students aged 16 to 18 (P<0.001). Log-binomial regression model analysis showed that girls ［PR（95%CI）=1.03（1.00-1.05）, P=0.021］, rural area ［PR（95%CI）=1.09（1.07-1.12）, P<0.001］, 13-15 years old［PR（95%CI）=1.89（1.84-1.94）, P<0.001］, eastern region［PR（95%CI）=1.94（1.88-2.00）, P<0.001］, middle region［PR（95%CI）=1.15（1.11-1.20）, P<0.001］, Exercise time ≥1 h/d［PR（95%CI）=1.41（1.37-1.45）, P<0.001］, parents support participation in sports activities after school［PR（95%CI）=1.10（1.06-1.15）, P<0.001］, TV time ≤1 h/d［PR（95%CI）=1.26（1.21-1.30）, P<0.001］, playing video games, watching videos or e-books ≤1 h/d［PR（95%CI）=1.05（1.02-1.09）, P<0.001］ were all related to the high prevalence of excellent and good physical fitness and health status. Conclusion: The prevalence of excellent and good physical fitness and health status among students aged 13 to 18 was changing between 1985 and 2014. Gender, age, area, physical exercise time, screen time for non-learning purposes, and parents' attitudes toward students' participation in physical activities were all related to the excellent and good physical fitness and health status of students.

Abstract:Using questionnaire method,the authors do a research on the distribution of sports value tendency of middle school students in Hainan under the background of new PE and health curriculum standard,the results show that recreation,fitness,social communication,reverse evaluation and psychology adjustment are the main sports value tendency distribution of middle school students of Hainan in this period.And in sports behaviour tendency,males and females are similar in selecting sports content,but are different in time-spending and place-selecting.
Comparative Study on Physical Constitution of Rural Students Between Li and Han Nationality

Abstract:Objective To compare the characteristics of morphology, physical constitution and motor indices of rural students between Li and Han nationalities,and to explore the efficient factors to promote students constitution development.Methods The indices of students' morphology, physical function, endurance, muscle power and flexibility were compared between two different nationalities by using the Chinese national survey on students' physical constitution in 2000.Results The morphological constitutions of Li nationality students were almost the same as Han nationality in rural areas of Hainan province, but they were slimmer and their level of vital capacity was lower than the Han nation nality students in rural.Compared with Han nationality,boy's chin-ups and girls' sit-ups were better.The older students of Li nationality performed better on flexibility,while Han students better on endurance in Hainan rural area.Conclusion Interventions on nutrition and physical exercise should be implemented to improve students' health according to the different characteristics of them.

Abstract:Objective To explore the physical fitness level among Chinese Han students aged 13-18 years in 2014 and physical fitness trend from 2010 to 2014,and to provide scientific reference for making intervention measures to improve students condition of physical fitness.Methods Students aged 13-18 were recruited from database of Chinese National Survey on Students Constitution and Health from 2010 to 2014.The collected data were tested to calculate combined scores and qualified rates based on the National Student Physical Health Standard modified in 2014.And t test and Chi-square test were used in the statistical analysis.Results The qualified rate of Chinese Han students aged 13-18 in 2014 was 83.9％.With the age increasing,the rate showed a downward tendency.The qualified rate of junior school students(86.5％) was higher than that of senior school students(81.3％) (x2=531.03,P＜0.05).Boys were revealed with a lower qualified rate(83.5％) than girls (84.3％)(x2=12.86,P＜0.05).The qualified rate of boys' health reduced from 85.8％ in 2010 to 83.5％ in 2014(x2 =110.25,P＜0.05).The qualified rate of girls increased from 83.4％ in 2014 to 84.3％ in 2014(x2 =15.86,P＜0.05).The changing trend of urban boys(-3.0％) and girls(1.0％) was higher than that of rural boys(-1.6％) and girls(0.8％) respectively.Conclusion Physical fitness of Chinese Han students aged 13-18 in 2014 is not optimistic,and there is a decline in students condition of physical fitness from 2010 to 2014.We should take targeted intervention measures to improve the physical fitness of students.

Abstract:Physical health is the foundation for the comprehensive development of college students, and with the development of social economy and changes in lifestyle, the physical health level of college students is facing various challenges and problems. Therefore, conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current situation of college students' physical health level and proposing corresponding improvement strategies has important theoretical and practical significance. Using various research methods such as literature review, mathematical statistics, and measurement, this study focuses on the physical health test data of students from Liaoning University of International Business and Economics from 2020 to 2022. The study aims to conduct statistical analysis on five aspects of students' grades, overall results, body shape, physical function, and physical fitness. The research results show that the body shape level of school girls shows a "two headed bias, and the middle is equivalent"; The overall respiratory system function of female students is slightly better than that of male students; The explosive strength and flexibility of male lower limbs are higher than the "pass or above" level specified in the National Student Physical Health Standards. Based on this, a causal analysis was conducted on the problems existing in students' physical health, and corresponding improvement measures were further proposed: to improve physical monitoring work and play the role of physical testing; Accelerate the reform of physical education teaching and implement the "four year consistent system" teaching; Strengthen extracurricular physical exercise and set up extracurricular physical education credits; Relying on sports associations to carry out various forms of sports activities; Guided by the construction of high-level sports teams, we aim to create a school sports brand.

Abstract:Objective To observe the growth changes of the Chinese urban students from 1985 to 2005 and to provide evidence for the intervention measurements.Methods Based on the re-organization of the sampling structure,of the Chinese National Survey on Students' Physical Fitness and Constitution,three new groups named the "coast metropolis",the "other provincial capitals" and the "moderate/small cities" were set up.Means of height and BMI in each of the sex-age groups for all those aged 7 through 18 years were calculated and compared between 1985 and 2005,in order to show the growth changes in this period.Results An overall positive and swift trend was found in all these three populations.The increments of 7-year-old's height were 4.2,5.0 and 4.8 cm for male groups,and 4.3,5.0 and 4.0 cm for female groups,respectively.Strong evidence showed the advancement of puberty.For the means of adult height,the increasing rates were 1.5,1.1 and 1.3 cm/decade and 1.1,1.0 and 0.8 cm/decade,for the three populations of males and females respectively.Conclusion The physical growth of the Chinese urban students has overall entered the complete secular growth trend.More effective intervention measures should be taken to reduce the imbalance of growth levels among populations,and to prevent the swift epidemic of childhood overweight and obesity.

Abstract:Objective To know the cognition of the adolescents as well as the source of relative information on health and finess,to provide reference for developing related policy,and to promote the further supervision and management.Methods Combining qualitative and quantitative methods and by stratified sampling,students of five high schools were chosen,and making focus group interviews and questionnaire investigation.Results The cognition of the adolescents on health and fitness was not comprehensive though they could realize some of their own health problems,and strongly longed for improving their health and fitness,and obtain health-relation information in various ways.The students of key high school more concerned about their own health and fitness.Conclusion Family,school and the society should pay attention to adolescents' health and physical fitness.Schools should be appropriate to reduce the learning burdens of students and to mediate family and community,guide the students to establish a correct conception of health with families,enhance health awareness and cultivate a good habit.

Abstract:Objective To compare the level of growth and development of children and adolescents of Jiangxi Province and Shanghai Municipality, and to figure out the influencing factors.Methods Using the Chinese national survey on students' physical fitness and health in 2000 to analyze and test the difference on students' stature (cm), body weight (kg), Body Mass Index (kg/m 2) and vital capacity/body weight (ml/kg) between Jiangxi and Shanghai. Results The physical growth level of students in Shanghai is significantly higher than that of Jiangxi students. The maximum differences on stature are 7 6cm and 10 7cm for urban and rural boys respectively, and 5 7cm and 8 0cm for urban and rural girls respectively Analysis on BMI showed that the body of students in Shanghai was much stronger than that of Jiangxi students (except for the females aged above 18); while the level of vital capacity/body weight among students in Shanghai is much lower than that of Jiangxi students. Conclusion Growth spurt appeared earlier in students in Shanghai with greater extent and longer duration than those in Jiangxi, while the former should enhance physical practice to improve their vital capa- city.

Abstract:In recent years, although the overall physical health of Chinese students has shown an upward trend, the substantial decline in student physical fitness has been basically curbed. Most of the physical health indicators of students are steadily improving, but there are still many problems that need to be vigilant. In order to solve the problem of the decline of the physical health of primary school students, it is very important to construct a teaching system based on big data and artificial intelligence to promote the physical health of primary school students. This article aims to study from the actual situation and find scientific and reasonable methods to improve the physical health of primary school students. This article uses the literature method, questionnaire survey method, mathematical statistics method, and other research methods to analyze and study the current physical condition of the interviewed students and the actual influencing factors by taking students from 5 domestic primary schools as the research object. It is concluded that more than 90% of primary school students in Haidian District, Beijing, have good physique and physical development. The development level of strength and flexibility is gradually improved, but the speed and endurance quality are on the decline, especially the endurance quality of primary school boys has declined the most. Lack of good exercise habits, insufficient exercise time and exercise efficiency, and lack of appropriate exercise volume and necessary exercise intensity are currently the most important factors affecting the physical health of primary school students. The physical problems of primary school students are not caused by a single factor, but the result of multiple factors. This article puts forward a number of suggestions for the above situation and problems to be solved urgently.
