Shame and Indignation: in the Perspective of Phenomenological Ethics

Abstract:This paper attempts to make sure of the determination of nature in shame, so that morality can be based on the naturalist ethics or natural ethics. The conclusion drawn from the observation and analysis is that it is a natural tendency for human to feel shameful. Second, factors learned are found in shame. Third, sense of compassion and sense of shame and indignation are two major sources of moral consciousness. The former relates itself to the real moral ability, and the latter to the potential moral ability.
