Small-molecule Antagonists of Survivin: a New Strategy of Oncotherapy and Chemoprevention

Abstract:Survivin is a member of the inhibitors of apoptosis protein(IAP) family,which is expressed specifically in most of tumors and closely associated with tumor growth,prognosis and angiogenesis.Therefore surviving-targeted antitumor therapy,especially the small-molecule antagonists of survivin,as a new strategy of oncotherapy and chemoprevention,has become a hotspot in the field of pharmaceutical research.The structure-activity,function and tumor-specific expression of survivin were summarized.Based on the different mechanisms of action,the representative small-molecule antagonists of survivin were introduced.
