Abstract:We propose a new method to measure motor speed by Fourier transform.The speed of a motor is obtained by perform a Fourier transform on the modulated signal from a toothed disc that is mounted on the motor.This method is validated by experimental results from an optical chopper.The measured results are agreement with the actual motor speed of the chopper in the range of 100～6000r/m.
