Abstract:We consider a generalized model with SU(3)-invariant R-matrix, and review the nested Bethe Ansatz for constructing eigenvectors of the transfer matrix. A sum formula for the scalar product between generic Bethe vectors, originally obtained by Reshetikhin [11], is discussed. This formula depends on a certain partition function Z(\{\lambda\},\{\mu\}|\{w\},\{v\}), which we evaluate explicitly. In the limit when the variables \{\mu\} or \{v\} approach infinity, this object reduces to the domain wall partition function of the six-vertex model Z(\{\lambda\}|\{w\}). Using this fact, we obtain a new expression for the off-shell scalar product (between a generic Bethe vector and a Bethe eigenvector), in the case when one set of Bethe variables tends to infinity. The expression obtained is a product of determinants, one of which is the Slavnov determinant from SU(2) theory. It extends a result of Caetano [13].

Abstract:The method proposed for calculating the eigenvalues of the transfer matrix is based on some fundamental properties of the R matrix such as unitarity, cross symmetry, and special relations related to the structure of the degeneracy of the R matrix at certain points. One can therefore hope that it applies to a large class of models in which the complicated structure of the R matrix makes it impossible to construct n-particle eigenstates of the transfer matrix by the Bethe ansatz.

Abstract:A one-dimensional model for two-band SU(2) bosons with isospin exchange interaction is solved by means of the nested Bethe-ansatz method. The features of the ground state and low-lying excitation state are discussed explicitly by numerical and analytical method. The thermodynamics of the system is analyzed by means of the thermodynamic Bethe-ansatz method, and some physical quantities, such as magnetization, specific heat, etc. are obtained explicitly in some special cases.

Abstract:A complete canonical quantization of the SU(3) Skyrme model performed in the collective coordinate formalism in general irreducible representations. In the case of SU(3) the model differs qualitatively in different representations. The Wess-Zumino-Witten term vanishes in all self-adjoint representations in the collective coordinate method for separation of space and time variables. The canonical quantization generates representation dependent quantum mass corrections, which can stabilize the soliton solution. The standard symmetry breaking mass, which in general leads to representation mixing, degenerates to the SU(2) form in all self-adjoint representations.

We consider integrable models with a $\mathfrak{gl}_3$-invariant $R$-matrix as the basic example, however, we also describe possible generalizations. We give recursions and explicit formulas for the Bethe vectors. We also give a representation for the Bethe vectors in the form of a trace formula.

Abstract:The Lieb-Schultz-Mattis theorem is extended to generalized Heisenberg models related to unexceptional Lie algebras. It is shown that there are no energy gaps above the ground states for SO(4), Sp(2), and SU(4) Heisenberg models; but gaps are suspected to occur in SO(5) and SO(6) models. The nondegenerate ground state for these models is rigorously proven.

Abstract:We extend the inequality of Tomboulis and Yaffe in SU(2) lattice gauge theory (LGT) to SU(N) LGT and to general classical spin systems, by use of reflection positivity. Basically the inequalities guarantee that a system in a box that is sufficiently insensitive to boundary conditions has a non-zero mass gap. We explicitly illustrate the theorem in some solvable models. Strong coupling expansion is then utilized to discuss some aspects of the theorem. Finally a conjecture for exact expression to the off-axis mass gap of the triangular Ising model is presented. The validity of the conjecture is tested in multiple ways.

One Dimensional SU(3) Bosons with Δ Function Interaction

Abstract:In this paper, we solve one-dimensional SU(3) bosons with repulsive delta-function interaction using the Bethe ansatz method. The features of the ground and low-lying excited states are studied by both numerical and analytical methods. We show that the ground state is a SU(3) colour ferromagnetic state. The configurations of quantum numbers for the ground state are given explicitly. For a finite N system, the spectra of low-lying excitations and the dispersion relations of four possible elementary particles (holon, antiholon, sigma-coloron and omega-coloron) are obtained by solving the Bethe ansatz equation numerically. The thermodynamic equilibrium of the system at finite temperature is studied by using the strategy of the thermodynamic Bethe ansatz; we give a revised Gaudin-Takahashi equation which is useful for the numerical method. Thermodynamic quantities, such as specific heat, are obtained for some special cases. We find that the magnetic property of the model in the high-temperature regime is dominated by Curie's law, chi proportional to 1/T, and the system has Fermi-liquid-like specific heat in the strong coupling limit at low temperature.

Abstract:We study Bethe vectors of integrable models based on the super-Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$. Starting from the super-trace formula, we exhibit recursion relations for these vectors in the case of $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(2|1))$ and $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(1|2))$. These recursion relations allow to get explicit expressions for the Bethe vectors. Using an antimorphism of the super-Yangian $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$, we also construct a super-trace formula for dual Bethe vectors, and, for $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(2|1))$ and $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(1|2))$ super-Yangians, show recursion relations for them. Again, the latter allow us to get explicit expressions for dual Bethe vectors.

Abstract:Using the contraction of the SU(3) algebra to the algebra of the rigid rotator in the large boson number limit of the Interacting Boson Approximation (IBA) model, a line is found inside the symmetry triangle of the IBA, along which the SU(3) symmetry is preserved. The line extends from the SU(3) vertex to near the critical line of the first order shape/phase transition separating the spherical and prolate deformed phases, and lies within the Alhassid--Whelan arc of regularity, the unique valley of regularity connecting the SU(3) and U(5) vertices amidst chaotic regions. In addition to providing an explanation for the existence of the arc of regularity, the present line represents the first example of an analytically determined approximate symmetry in the interior of the symmetry triangle of the IBA. The method is applicable to algebraic models possessing subalgebras amenable to contraction. This condition is equivalent to algebras in which the equilibrium ground state (and its rotational band) become energetically isolated from intrinsic excitations, as typified by deformed solutions to the IBA for large numbers of valence nucleons.

Bethe vectors and recurrence relations for twisted Yangian based models

Abstract:We study Olshanski twisted Yangian based models, known as one-dimensional "soliton non-preserving" open spin chains, by means of algebraic Bethe ansatz. The even case, when the bulk symmetry is $\mathfrak{gl}_{2n}$ and the boundary symmetry is $\mathfrak{sp}_{2n}$ or $\mathfrak{gl}_{2n}$, was studied in <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="1710.08409" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/1710.08409">arXiv:1710.08409</a>. In the present work, we focus on the odd case, when the bulk symmetry is $\mathfrak{gl}_{2n+1}$ and the boundary symmetry is $\mathfrak{so}_{2n+1}$. We explicitly construct Bethe vectors and present a more symmetric form of the trace formula. We use the composite model approach and $Y(\mathfrak{gl}_n)$-type recurrence relations to obtain recurrence relations for twisted Yangian based Bethe vectors, for both even and odd cases.

Abstract:We find Bethe vectors for quantum integrable models associated with the supersymmetric Yangians $Y(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n)$ in terms of the current generators of the Yangian double $DY(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$. More specifically, we use the method of projections onto intersections of different type Borel subalgebras in this infinite dimensional algebra to construct the Bethe vectors. Calculating these projection the supersymmetric Bethe vectors can be expressed through matrix elements of the universal monodromy matrix elements. Using two different but isomorphic current realizations of the Yangian double $DY(\mathfrak{gl}(m|n))$ we obtain two different presentations for the Bethe vectors. These Bethe vectors are also shown to obey some recursion relations which prove their equivalence.

Abstract:A possible form of the Lipkin model obeying the su(6)-algebra is presented. It is a natural generalization from the idea for the su(4)-algebra recently proposed by the present authors. All the relation appearing in the present form can be expressed in terms of the spherical tensors in the su(2)-algebras. For specifying the linearly independent basis completely, twenty parameters are introduced. It is concluded that, in these parameters, the ten denote the quantum numbers coming from the eigenvalues of some hermitian operators. The five in these ten determine the minimum weight state.

Abstract:An orthogonal basis of the Hilbert space for the quantum spin chain associated with the su(3) algebra is introduced. Such kind of basis could be treated as a nested generalization of separation of variables (SoV) basis for high-rank quantum integrable models. It is found that all the monodromy-matrix elements acting on a basis vector take simple forms. With the help of the basis, we construct eigenstates of the su(3) inhomogeneous spin torus (the trigonometric su(3) spin chain with antiperiodic boundary condition) from its spectrum obtained via the off-diagonal Bethe Ansatz (ODBA). Based on small sites (i.e. N=2) check, it is conjectured that the homogeneous limit of the eigenstates exists, which gives rise to the corresponding eigenstates of the homogenous model.

Abstract:Integrability of N=1 supersymmetric Ruijsenaars-Schneider three-body models based upon the potentials W(x)=2/x, W(x)=2/sin(x), and W(x)=2/sinh(x) is proven. The problem of constructing an algebraically resolvable set of Grassmann-odd constants of motion is reduced to finding a triplet of vectors such that all their scalar products can be expressed in terms of the original bosonic first integrals. The supersymmetric generalizations are used to build novel integrable (iso)spin extensions of the respective Ruijsenaars-Schneider three-body systems.
