Abstract:The safety of water quality in China's urban water supply has always been the focus of attention from all walks of life, and the study and analysis of strengthening the safety of water quality in the urban water supply are to ensure that the quality of life in China's cities and towns is improved as well as the safety of people's lives and health. At present, many cities and towns in China have water quality problems, bringing a great impact on people's lives. Therefore, this paper studies the safety of water quality in towns and cities firstly analyses the main factors affecting the safety of drinking water quality, and then proposes some corresponding measures to solve the current situation. It is hoped that the study of this paper can bring some degree of help to China's urban water supply management.

Abstract:Water quality evaluation is very important for the design and operation of water treatment and the security of water supply. As the urbanization and population increasing, three types of surface water are simultaneously applied for drinking water sources in Huzhou. Based on the continuous monitoring and data analysis from 2011 to 2015, water quality evaluation was carried out by nine water quality indexes, in order to investigate the pollution characteristics and temporal variation trends of drinking water sources. The results showed that these three types of surface water generally conformed to the water quality standards of drinking water sources, and the water quality decreased in order of reservoir, lake and river. The water quality of reservoir was good and stable, while the main problem of Tai Lake was the exceeding standards of total nitrogen and total phosphorus which might lead to the algae growth. In the rivers, the indexes exceeding the national standards were total nitrogen, iron and manganese, and water quality indexes including chemical oxygen demand, dissolved oxygen, ammonia nitrogen and total nitrogen exhibited seasonal variation. More attention should be paid to water eutrophication and seasonal accidental risk in Huzhou.

An Analysis on the Quality of Finished Water in Rural Waterworks

Abstract:Objective To uderstand the quality and the hygienic condition of finished water in rural waterworks of Zhejiang Province,and to provide the basis for improving the drinking water quality in rural areas.Methods An investigation with questionnaire on the drinking water purification plants was carried out in representative monitoring points.Samples of finished water from different waterworks with different purification processing modes and different sources were collected in wet and drought seasons.The water quality was analyzed and assessed according to the Hygienic Standards for Drinking water(GB 5749—2006).Results There were 37.82% rural waterworks with a complete main treatment process.The main source of water was surface water(80.14%).The qualification rates of composite index of finished water in wet and drought seasons were 93.25% and 91.53%,respectively.Conclusion The qualification rate of composite index in the finished water from rural waterworks is relatively low,which is related to imperfect of treatment process and irregular disinfection.

Abstract:The waterhead area of Shanghai has experienced the change which from Suzhou river to Huangpu river,from downtown to upstream of Huangpu river,and then to Songpu bridge utimately.At present,Yangtze river has been the second important water source of Shanghai.The water quality was detected to be worse and worse every year.Aimed at resolving the pollution of waterhead area in Shanghai currently,the causes for pollution were analysed separately,and then the measures of protection and security were proposed from the side of management,execute and technology.

Abstract:[Objective]To understand the health status of rural drinking water in Huairou district of Beijing,provide scientific basis for rural water improvement.[Methods]According to the status of monitoring point and result reports of water quality in the 2009 Beijing Technical Scheme for Health Monitoring of Rural Drinking Water Quality,the basic survey and sampling examination were performed,and the results were analyzed.[Results]The qualified rate of water quality in dry and wet season in Huairou district was 74.4% and 47.8% respectively,the qualified rate of finished water and tap water in dry season was 77.8% and 68.9% respectively,and the qualified rate of finished water and tap water in wet season was 53.3% and 42.2% respectively.The influencing factor of rural drinking water in Huairou district was microbial indicator.The water quality in dry season was better than that in and wet season,that of deep well was better than that of shallow well and spring water,and the differences were statistically significant.[Conclusion]The rural water improvement in Huairou district should be further improved.The disinfection process of rural drinking water was absolutely necessary.In the further,the health propaganda and monitoring frequency of drinking water should be strengthened,so as to ensure health and safety of rural drinking water in Huairou district.

Abstract:Based on thorough survey and systematic analysis of basic situation,water resource exploration and utilization and existing problem in Wuchuanhu village,the protection goal and indices were proposed.Aim at the main problems which exist during the water resource exploration and utilization in Wuchuanhu village,the main construction projects were pointed out to strengthen the protection of drinking water source,including general survey project on water quality of drinking water source,drinking water source area protection project,project for treatment of domestic sewage,project for treatment of domestic waste,and safeguard measures to smooth the implementation of these projects.Hope to reduce the potential danger of drinking water,secure the villager's drinking water security to make sure the villagers can drink the clean water by constructing and implementing these projects.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the quality and health status of rural scattered water supply in Zhejiang Province,and provide scientific basis for the government.Methods Representative monitoring spots were selected from 26 counties to be investigated with a questionnaire on the basic situation.Samples of scattered water supply from different points were collected in wet and dry water seasons.The water quality was analyzed and assessed according to the related standards and regulation.Results There are 251.9 thousand scattered water supply spots in the 26 counties,covering 16.70% of the rural population.The pass rate of the mechanical sampling,manual sampling and handlance pump sampling in wet and dry water seasons is 21.60%,31.03% and 14.81% and 15.04%,13.79% and 21.62%,respectively.Conclusion The pass rates of composite index of scattered water supply from rural areas are low,which is related to the contamination during the water intaking.

Abstract:Drinking water for Fuzhou urban district comes mainly from surface water. Water quality safety (WQS) status of each DW in 2006 is evaluated respectively by method recommended by Ministry of Water Resource (MWR) and method recommended by Ministry of Environmental Protection (MEP). The results show that all DW water quality belongs to safe level as a whole. By MWR method evaluation WQS of Aofeng zhou DW comes to the worst and belongs to unsafe level with some index (such as coliform) seriously exceeding criteria sometimes. By MEP method evaluation Yi-xu comes to the worst. Based on the investigation of water pollutant sources, the strategies of pollution treatment and environmental management are proposed.

Abstract:Objective To master the overview of drinking water in countryside and provide basis for changing potable water supply.Method Sampling and monitoring the produced water and network water of normal waterworks according to The 2009 monitoring projects for water quality of health in the countryside in Jiangsu province.Results In 24 township waterworks,qualified rate was 80.43% in dry season and 22.92% in wet period.In 142 village waterworks,qualified rate was 77.31% in dry season and 54.29% in wet period.Conclusions Health and safety of rural drinking water had been improved but there were still some deficiencies and need improve in the future.

Abstract:At present,there exists excessive fluoride in drinking water in China's rural areas.Through a worldwide comparative analysis,this paper analyzes the principles of all kinds of fluorine-containing water treatment,and summarizes their advantages and disadvantages.Based on the results and the special situation of China's rural areas,the authors recommend to the rural areas that while drinking high-fluorine-containing water,people use Coagulating Sedimentation Method as a proper treatment.Furthermore,this paper recommends PAC(Polyaluminium Chloride) which has a better effect of fluoride-reducing.

Abstract:As a result of the rapid development of China's economy, many surface and groundwater have become polluted. Assuring high quality drinking water, especially for the rural areas has recently received much attention. In this study, the drinking water quality in one centralized water supply network was evaluated by analyzing 28 pollutant indices at 35 sampling points. It was determined that the concentrations of most organoleptic and physical indices were stable in all the water samples. The large variation of turbidity in the tap water was likely a result of the sloughing off of corrosion scales as well as bio-films formed within the distribution system. Trace metal elements also showed high removal efficiencies as a result of purification and pipe scale adsorption. The average concentrations of Fe and Mn in the tap water were 39.8 and 2.4 mu g/L respectively, much lower than that in the untreated groundwater. Compared with organoleptic/physical indices and trace metal elements, the removal ratios of nitrate and microorganisms in purification were relatively low. Total bacteria counts could not meet the standard requirements in nearly all the tap water samples tested. To ensure future tap water quality, enhanced management in addition to upgrading the treatment process with a disinfection unit is suggested.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the quality of drinking water in the rural areas of Beijing,and to provide a scientific basis for health inspection and supervision.Methods A total of 11 samples of self-sponsored community water supplies and 208 samples of household water supplies were collected and tested in the rural areas of Beijing.Results Most of 11 self-sponsored community water supplies had sanitary license and water protection measures.Water disinfection system worked well.The sanitation condition was much better in self-sponsored community water supplies than in household supplies.76.71%(168/219),79.45%(174/219) and 95.43%(209/219) of water samples were qualified in general,for chemical contaminants and physical tests,and for microorganisms indicators.The general qualified rates of self-sponsored community supplies and household supplies were 54.55% and 77.88%,respectively.The major causes for poor water quality were turbidity,visible substance,the high level of water hardness and the high concentrations of fluoride,iron and etc.Chlorine had better water disinfection effect than ozone and UV did.Conclusion The quality of drinking water needs to be improved in the rural areas of Beijing.Efforts should be focused on the infrastructure construction of water supply system and the inspection of water quality.

Abstract:[Objective] To study the rural drinking water quality,water source sanitation and the sanitation protection status in Huairou District to strengthen the instruction on rural drinking water projects.[Methods]With a uniform questionnaire,carried on onsite investigation and water sample collection,made statistical analysis with the SPSS.[Results] The investigation involved 297 water sources of 274 administrative villages in Huairou District with the central and scattered water supply qualified rates of 86.7% and 61.0% respectively;the microorganism qualified rate of different water source types,including deep well,shallow water well, water seepage and river water was 92.8%,80.1%,68.1% and 33.3% respectively.The quality of central water supply is better than scattered water supply and ground water is better than surface water.Both statistical significant differences are found.[Conclusion]The drinking water health project in Huairou District must be extended to basic unit as village to enhance the holding rates of hygienic permit cards and the healthy cards;in the rural drinking water project;we should choose the ground water with priority as water resource,like deep well,shallow water well,etc.In the future,the progress of rural safe drinking water projects should be accelerated.We should do our best to improve the rural drinking water safety monitoring system,perform regular inspection on rural drinking water,report water quality testing results and guide farmers to drink sanitary and safe water.
