Abstract:Many automated system analysis techniques e.g., model checking, model-based testing rely on first obtaining a model of the system under analysis. System modeling is often done manually, which is often considered as a hindrance to adopt model-based system analysis and development techniques. To overcome this problem, researchers have proposed to automatically \"learn\" models based on sample system executions and shown that the learned models can be useful sometimes. There are however many questions to be answered. For instance, how much shall we generalize from the observed samples and how fast would learning converge? Or, would the analysis result based on the learned model be more accurate than the estimation we could have obtained by sampling many system executions within the same amount of time? In this work, we investigate existing algorithms for learning probabilistic models for model checking, propose an evolution-based approach for better controlling the degree of generalization and conduct an empirical study in order to answer the questions. One of our findings is that the effectiveness of learning may sometimes be limited.

Abstract:Probability theory and mathematical statistics are fundamental courses for various majors in science and engineering. In response to the current teaching situation, we should integrate theory with practice, implement teaching reform, and carry out teaching innovation. The article carries out blended teaching with deep integration of online and offline modes and within and outside of class, constructing innovative measures of “four integrations and four reshaping.” The article conducts diversified evaluations to stimulate learning motivation and help achieve talent cultivation goals. Through the close integration of probability theory and mathematical statistics course teaching with professional education and practical application, the “three-in-one” teaching goal of value shaping, ability cultivation, and knowledge exploration is achieved. The fundamental task of “cultivating morality and talents” is implemented.

Abstract:O-AMAS is an effective teaching model, which includes five links: teaching objective, activation, multi-learning, assessment and summary. This paper examines the issues critical to understanding and implementing O-AMAS teaching model in the course of Probability Theory and Mathematical Statistics. Four classes served as a control group to implement traditional teaching mode in 2022. Three classes served as an intervention group to implement O-AMAS teaching model in 2023. By comparison, the average score of final exam and the number of excellent students have increased, indicating that O-AMAS teaching model can improve the learning effect and student participation.

Abstract:China plays an important role in the global basic education of mathematics. Moreover, China has a lot of educational experience and methods and trains many excellent talents in the field of mathematics. However, there are still various disadvantages in the process of mathematics teaching. The traditional exam-oriented education makes the talent thought of mathematics education lack openness. Teachers also focus on difficult problems, partial questions, and exam questions during teaching. When teaching, teachers cannot contact students' daily life, which has low value. Mathematics teaching methods are too rigid and lack attraction. Most teachers focus on contents in textbooks while students cannot understand the value of mathematics in learning. This results in the decline of most students' interest in mathematics courses. To solve this problem, mathematical modeling teaching is put forward. China has a short application time in this field, and mathematical modeling is complex and systematic. When dealing with mathematical modeling problems, we must be able to skillfully use the basic knowledge learned and also involve the knowledge of other disciplines, so we must realize the integration of the knowledge of various disciplines. In addition, mathematical modeling teaching attaches great importance to students' communication ability, mathematical interpretation ability, and teamwork ability. Teachers can improve students' ability; however, our teachers' abilities in mathematical modeling teaching are uneven and there are no relevant standards. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an evaluation index system to accurately judge teachers' abilities. Based on this, this study uses the Delphi AHP method to construct the evaluation index system and selects four criteria level indexes and 12 index level indexes to judge teachers' mathematical modeling teaching ability.

Abstract:Abstract Mathematical application plays an irreplaceable role in various scientific fields, especially in engineering technology and economic management. Mathematics is the basic subject of nine-year compulsory education, which occupies a large proportion on quality education in China. Mathematics learning is undoubtedly very important for engineering college students. If the university mathematics teaching integrates the mathematical modeling thought, the student will be more convenient to study the abstruse mathematics question. This method can effectively improve the teaching efficiency and students’ interest. At the same time, with the development of science and technology, computer technology has provided a lot of convenience for our study work, and the active use of computer-assisted technology in teaching can greatly improve the efficiency of education. Based on this, this article discusses the function of mathematical modeling and uses computer-aided technology to analyze the existing problems in mathematical teaching. Finally, the paper puts forward the innovative reform method of mathematics teaching.

Abstract:According to the school observation in China, There are still fragmentation and superficiality problems in front-line teachers’ mathematics teaching method. The reason is that the general system theory has not been rooted in the mathematics teaching method. This study aims to develop Dick-Carey model of systematic design and used in the learning activity. Based on system analysis model, Dick-Carey model of systematic design, and the “Six Questions” cognitive concepts, this paper tries to construct a systematic plan of teaching mathematics. In order to restore the structure, improve the breadth, depth and openness of teaching plan and to promote the systematic model into better teaching method. At the same time, taking the design of "intersecting lines" as an example, this paper explores the effective strategies of systematic design in mathematics teaching.

Abstract:Abstract The teaching quality of higher mathematics courses plays a pivotal role in the cultivation of students’ quality and the improvement of their abilities. In this paper, information entropy is added to the hierarchical analysis method to improve it and then combined with the fuzzy synthesis method to construct a model for evaluating the quality of mathematics teaching. The higher mathematics teaching course at a university is selected as the research object, and the constructed model for evaluating the quality of higher mathematics teaching is applied to the teaching of higher mathematics in classrooms. The evaluation index system for higher mathematics teaching quality is established by combining relevant literature, and the improved AHP is used for weighting. Then, the index data is collected through questionnaires to analyze the differences and assess the teaching quality of different genders and majors and then to propose strategies to improve the teaching quality of higher mathematics. The significant effects of teaching methods (0.184), teaching effectiveness (0.176), and teaching content (0.170) on the teaching quality of higher mathematics were revealed. The quality of teaching higher mathematics in the sample universities is located at a good level with scores between 8 and 9 on each evaluation index, with the best performance of 8.934 for teaching content. The evaluation model for higher mathematics teaching quality established by the research has validity and feasibility.
