Abstract:Based on the Lax operator L and Orlov-Shulman’s M operator, the string equations of the q -KP hierarchy are established from the special additional symmetry flows, and the negative Virasoro constraint generators { L − n , n ≥ 1} of the 2-reduced q -KP hierarchy are also obtained.

Abstract:A method is proposed in this paper to construct a new extended q-deformed KP ($q$-KP) hiearchy and its Lax representation. This new extended $q$-KP hierarchy contains two types of q-deformed KP equation with self-consistent sources, and its two kinds of reductions give the q-deformed Gelfand-Dickey hierarchy with self-consistent sources and the constrained q-deformed KP hierarchy, which include two types of q-deformed KdV equation with sources and two types of q-deformed Boussinesq equation with sources. All of these results reduce to the classical ones when $q$ goes to 1. This provides a general way to construct (2+1)- and (1+1)-dimensional q-deformed soliton equations with sources and their Lax representations.

Abstract:Based on the study of quantum calculus, we construct a multicomponent q -KP hierarchy and its additional symmetries. The additional symmetries form a multifold W_1+∞ algebra and the generating operator of the additional symmetries can be shown to have a concise form in terms of wave functions. Furthermore, the string equation and the action of additional symmetries of the multicomponent q -KP hierarchy on the Grassmannian are considered. After quantization, we derive the corresponding quantum torus symmetry, whose flows constitute an interesting multifold quantum torus type Lie algebra.

Symmetry Integrability and Geometry Methods and Applications

Abstract:Using the determinant representation of gauge transformation operator, we have shown that the general form of tau function of the q-KP hierarchy is a q-deformed generalized Wronskian, which includes the q-deformed Wronskian as a special case. On the basis of these, we study the q-deformed constrained KP (q-cKP) hierarchy, i.e. l-constraints of q-KP hierarchy. Similar to the ordinary constrained KP (cKP) hierarchy, a large class of solutions of q-cKP hierarchy can be represented by q-deformed Wronskian determinant of functions satisfying a set of linear q-partial differential equations with constant coefficients. We obtained additional conditions for these functions imposed by the constraints. In particular, the effects of q-deformation (q-effects) in single q-soliton from the simplest tau function of the q-KP hierarchy and in multi-q-soliton from one-component q-cKP hierarchy, and their dependence of x and q, were also presented. Finally, we observe that q-soliton tends to the usual soliton of the KP equation when x -> 0 and q -> 1, simultaneously.

Abstract:In this paper, we construct Virasoro-type additional symmetry of the constrained multi-component q-deformed KP (q-KP) hierarchy, which is obtained as particular reduction imposed on the multi-component q-KP hierarchy. Then the investigation of the multi-component q-deformed modified KP (q-mKP) hierarchy and its additional symmetry is given as well. Furthermore, the Virasoro-type additional symmetry and the corresponding algebraic structure in the constrained case are also considered.

Abstract:In this paper, we study two generalized constrained integrable hierarchies, which are called the $c$-$k$ constrained KP and BKP hierarchies. The Fermionic picture of the $c$-$k$ constrained KP hierarchy is given. We give some solutions for the $c$-$k$ constrained KP hierarchy by using the free Fermion operators and define its additional symmetries. Its additional flows form a subalgebra of the Virasoro algebra. Furthermore, the additional flows acting on eigenfunctions $q_{i}(t)$ and adjoint eigenfunctions $r_{i}(t)$ of the $c$-$k$ constrained KP hierarchy are presented. Next, we define the $c$-$k$ constrained BKP hierarchy and obtain its bilinear identity and solutions. The algebra formed by the additional symmetric flow of the $c$-$k$ constrained BKP hierarchy that we defined is still a subalgebra of the Virasoro algebra and it is a subalgebra of the algebra formed by the additional flows of the $c$-$k$ constrained KP hierarchy.

Abstract:KLT relations almost factorize closed string amplitudes on $S_2$ by two open string tree amplitudes which correspond to the left- and the right- moving sectors. In this paper, we investigate string amplitudes on $D_2$ and $RP_2$. We find that KLT factorization relations do not hold in these two cases. The relations between closed and open string amplitudes have new forms. On $D_2$ and $RP_2$, the left- and the right- moving sectors are connected into a single sector. Then an amplitude with closed strings on $D_2$ or $RP_2$ can be given by one open string tree amplitude except for a phase factor. The relations depends on the topologies of the world-sheets.Under T-duality, the relations on $D_2$ and $RP_2$ give the amplitudes between closed strings scattering from D-brane and O-plane respectively by open string partial amplitudes.In the low energy limits of these two cases, the factorization relations for graviton amplitudes do not hold. The amplitudes for gravitons must be given by the new relations instead.

Abstract:It is quite basic in integrable systems to deriving Lax equations from bilinear equations. For multi--component KP theory, corresponding Lax structures are mainly constructed by matrix pseudo-differential operators for fixed discrete variables, or by matrix difference operators for even-component cases. Here we use Shiota method to construct Lax structure of 3-component KP hierarchy and its reduction by introducing two shift operators $\Lambda_1$ and $\Lambda_2$, where relations among different discrete variables can be easily found. We believe the results here are quite typical for general multi-component KP theory, which may be helpful for general cases.

Abstract:We consider Little String Theories (LSTs) that are engineered by N parallel M5-branes probing a transverse Z M geometry. By exploiting a dual description in terms of F-theory compactified on a toric Calabi-Yau threefold X N , M , we establish numerous symmetries that leave the BPS partition function Z N , M invariant. They furthemore act in a non-perturbative fashion from the point of view of the low energy quiver gauge theory associated with the LST. We present different group theoretical organisations of these symmetries, thereby generalising the results of [1] to the case of generic M ≥ 1. We also provide a Mathematica package that allows to represent them in terms of matrices that act linearly on the Kähler parameters of X N , M . From the perspective of dual realisations of the LSTs the symmetries found here act in highly nontrivial ways: as an example, we consider a formulation of Z N , M in terms of correlation functions of a vertex operator algebra, whose commutation relations are governed by an affine quiver algebra. We show the impact of the symmetry transformations on the latter and discuss invariance of Z N , M from this perspective for concrete examples.

A KP-mKP Hierarchy via Operators with Two Derivations

Abstract:By using pseudo-differential operators containing two derivations, we extend the Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) hierarchy to a certain KP-mKP hierarchy. For the KP-mKP hierarchy, we obtain its Bäcklund transformations, bilinear equations of Baker-Akhiezer functions and Hirota equations of tau functions. Moreover, we show that this hierarchy is equivalent to a subhierarchy of the dispersive Whitham hierarchy associated to the Riemann sphere with its infinity point and one movable point marked.

Abstract:We give a unified description of our recent results on the the inter-relationship between the integrable infinite KP hierarchy, nonlinear $\hat{W}_{\infty}$ current algebra and conformal noncompact $SL(2,R)/U(1)$ coset model both at the classical and quantum levels. In particular, we present the construction of a quantum version of the KP hierarchy by deforming the second KP Hamiltonian structure through quantizing the $SL(2,R)_k/U(1)$ model and constructing an infinite set of commuting quantum $\hat{W}_{\infty}$ charges (at least at $k$=1).

Abstract:The additional symmetries of the constrained CKP (cCKP) and BKP (cBKP) hierarchies are given by their actions on the Lax operators, and their actions on the eigenfunction and adjoint eigenfunction {Φ i , Ψ i } are presented explicitly. Furthermore, we show that acting on the space of the wave operator, ∂ k * forms new centerless W 1=∞ cC and W 1+∞ cB W 1+∞ cB -subalgebra of centerless W 1+∞ respectively. In order to define above symmetry flows ∂ k * of the cCKP and cBKP hierarchies, two vital operators Y k are introduced to revise the additional symmetry flows of the CKP and BKP hierarchies.

Abstract:In the recent paper [Stud. App. Math. 147 (2021) 752], squared eigenfunction symmetry constraint of the differential-difference modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (D$\Delta$mKP) hierarchy converts the D$\Delta$mKP system to the relativistic Toda spectral problem and its hierarchy. In this paper we introduce a new formulation of independent variables in the squared eigenfunction symmetry constraint, under which the D$\Delta$mKP system gives rise to the discrete spectral problem and a hierarchy of the differential-difference derivative nonlinear Schrödinger equation of the Chen-Lee-Liu type. In addition, by introducing nonisospectral flows, two sets of symmetries of the D$\Delta$mKP hierarchy and their algebraic structure are obtained. We then present a unified continuum limit scheme, by which we achieve the correspondence of the mKP and the D$\Delta$mKP hierarchies and their integrable structures.

Abstract:By principal representation of toroidal Lie algebra , we construct an integrable system: Bogoyavlensky–modified KdV (B–mKdV) hierarchy, which is -dimensional generalization of modified KdV hierarchy. Firstly, bilinear equations of B–mKdV hierarchy are obtained by fermionic representation of and boson–fermion correspondence, which are rewritten into Hirota bilinear forms. Also Fay-like identities of B–mKdV hierarchy are derived. Then from B–mKdV bilinear equations, we investigate Lax structure, which is another equivalent formulation of B–mKdV hierarchy. Conversely, we also derive B–mKdV bilinear equations from Lax structure. Other equivalent formulations of wave functions and dressing operator are needed when discussing bilinear equations and Lax structure. After that, Miura links between Bogoyavlensky–KdV hierarchy and B–mKdV hierarchy are discussed. Finally, we construct soliton solutions of B–mKdV hierarchy.

Abstract:Solutions of a generalized constrained discrete KP (gcdKP) hierarchy with constraint on Lax operator $L^k=(L^k)_{\geq m}+\sum_{i=1}^lq_i\Delta^{-1}\Lambda^mr_i$, are invesitigated by Darboux transformations $T_D(f)=f^{[1]}\cdot\Delta\cdot f^{-1}$ and $T_I(g)=(g^{[-1]})^{-1}\cdot\Delta^{-1}\cdot g$. Due to this special constraint on Lax operator, it is showed that the generating functions $f$ and $g$ of the corresponding Darboux transformations, can only be chosen from (adjoint) wave functions or $(L^k)_{<m}=\sum_{i=1}^lq_i\Delta^{-1}\Lambda^mr_i$. Then successive applications of Darboux transformations for gcdKP hierarchy are discussed. Finally based upon above, solutions of gcdKP hierarchy are obtained from $L^{\{0\}}=\Lambda$ by Darboux transformations.
