Abstract:This research shows that needy college students depend on assistance especially financially more than non-poor students,and poor students also receive more aids besides scholarships than non-poor students.However,still there are some needy students who cannot be funded,while some non-needy students are funded.The most needy students should be offered aids they need in order to improve efficiency of assistance.Hence,we should manage the qualification and access for needy students,pay attention to changing needs of these students,and establish a multiple supervision system.

Abstract:Based on the investigation of the current situation of the poverty-stricken students, the author makes a detailed study of the poverty-stricken students' problems existing in the life, psychology, study, communication, employment and so on. The growth assistance mode for the poverty-stricken students in colleges and universities is constructed, which mainly including six aspects of psychological quality improvement module, learning ability improvement module, interpersonal skills improvement module, professional practical ability improvement module, employment and entrepreneurship improvement module and social responsibility consciousness training module. The functions of each module are mainly realized by the active carrier, each module has its own independent feasibility, and there are inherent organic connections among the modules. It also provides an effective way for the growth of poverty-stricken students in colleges and universities.

Abstract:The article studied the demand and effectiveness of financial aid to health professional students in China by relying on descriptive analysis of data from a questionnaire survey in 29 higher medical education institutions.It was found that health professional students faced greater economic pressure than average and had high demand for financial aid.Furthermore,financial aid had positive effects in motivating health professional students to focus on study and participate in extracurricular activities.Nevertheless,only a minority of them were satisfied with the effectiveness of the existing financial aid system.The authors suggested that a financial aid system that addressed health professional students' demand should be improved and strengthened,more attention should be paid to students in common universities in order to promote the equity of financial aid,and the leverage role of financial aid should be better utilized in influencing health professional students' career preference for working in rural areas and primary care providers.

Abstract:The financial aid for university/college students is not only a strong guarantee to promote education equity,but also has an important impact on the quality of college students'employment and job satisfaction.This paper,relying on logistic model,shows that the national scholarships,state grants,and part-time jobs provided for students have significantly positive effects on their employment opportunities,starting salaries,position developments in the places of work as well as their job satis-factions.Under the normal conditions,the national loan program for university/college students has a positive effect on students who are from lower-income family backgrounds,however,the excessive pur-suit of the credit loans may lead to a negative effect.Steadily increasing the scale of investments on uni-versity/college students and appropriately avoiding the risks of excessive loans should attract the atten-tion of governments and universities.

Abstract:We employ the Chinese College Students Survey(CCSS) carried out in 2010 to examine the poverty on campus.In defining poverty line as the college-specific necessary expenditures for a college student to maintain the basic living standard on campus,we find that 22%of college students are in poverty.The ratio of necessary college expenditure over household income is 67%on average.Poverty is more severe among the students from rural or Western China.The college need-based aid program needs to be improved because the target count error is over 50%,and only reduce poverty rate by 2.6 percentage points.Lacking other income sources,poor students rely heavily on borrowing and working to finance their college education.

Abstract:Student financial assistance in Colleges and universities is an important part of the overall deployment of "targeted poverty alleviation". In order to understand the current situation of financial aid in Colleges and universities and put forward the corresponding countermeasures, a questionnaire was designed based on the identification of poor students, the form of financial aid, psychological assistance and the effect of financial aid. According to the results, using the thought of syndrome differentiation and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine, the concept of combination of disease and syndrome, three factors and so on is applied to the identification and funding of poor students, so as to promote the innovative development of funding education in colleges and universities.

Abstract:Since the mid-1980s, the country has carried out large-scale targeted poverty alleviation, and the poverty situation in rural areas has been getting better and better. From renovation of dilapidated buildings to self-built new buildings, from poverty relief to self-sufficiency, and from illiteracy to general understanding, it seems that the process is smooth, but in fact these prove the difficulty and danger of getting rid of poverty. In 2011, the state promulgated and implemented the Outline of China's Rural Poverty Alleviation and Development (2011-2020), which further accelerated the development of poverty-stricken areas, so as to ensure the realization of a well-off society in an all-round way by 2020. On this road of getting rid of poverty, education plays the role of "spiritual enlightenment" and leads people's thoughts to different realms. "Helping the poor first helps the mind, helping the poor must help the mind." When the villagers have scientific and cultural knowledge, they will have firmer ideals and beliefs. This situation will accelerate the narrowing of the gap between urban and rural areas and help the new countryside develop faster and higher.
A Multilevel Analysis of Determinants of Financial Aid for College Students

Abstract:Chinese financial aid system is a response to the reduced affordability of higher education and a way to improve the access of the disadvantaged groups to higher education.Based on a survey of 16,058 college students from 54 institutions in Beijing,this study made an empirical analysis of the influential factors of the financial aid for college students.The result indicates that the students from key universities receive more aid than students from other universities and the enrolment in key universities increases the probability of getting aid.In addition,female students,students with better educated fathers or from poor households,and CCP members receive more aid.Students with higher marks in college entrance examination,senior students and students in science related majors obtain significantly more aid.These findings provide empirical evidence for adjusting college financial aid policy in China.

Abstract:Objective:To compare and analyze the differences of mental health factors between the disadvantaged and the ordinary among college students.It can help provide the scientific evidence to improve the mental health of the disadvantaged groups.Method:200 students in Shaoxing University were investigated by the clinical symptom checklist(SCL-90)and other items.Results:There is significant difference in source of students,family income,relationship among families,mental stress and sources of stress between the disadvantaged and the ordinary.Conclusion:Close attention should be paid to the disadvantaged among college students,and our best should be tried to improve psychological health level of them.

Abstract:Educational research has emphasized the importance of help-seeking in learning and engagement. However, little is known about the impact that help-giving may potentially have on student engagement and academic achievement. There is also a lack of knowledge about the environmental factors that might facilitate help-giving. This study investigated how help-giving is associated with student engagement and academic achievement by drawing on the Chinese College Student Survey (CCSS), which involved data from 67,182 Chinese college students. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Results showed that students who experienced a positive social climate, particularly those who had positive social interactions with their peers, teachers, and university staff members were more likely to help their peers with schoolwork. In turn, these students who helped their peers were more cognitively, emotionally, and behaviorally engaged. They also had higher levels of academic achievement themselves. The results applied to students of different demographic characteristics and different school types. Theoretical and practical implications of the research are discussed.

Abstract:In this paper, the research results of characteristic project of practical education in colleges and universities in Hubei Province, “Soothe the spirits with a loving heart ” psychological assistance project (Project No. 2017SJJPD2002), has been reported. The project is a public benefit activity in which the undergraduate psychological service team of Wuhan Textile University goes to the orphanages to offer psychological assistance. Many psychological assistances were offered by students for the orphans and disabled children in orphanages through various forms such as companionship, lectures, group counseling and quality development, which not only promoted the formation of a good mentality for orphans and disabled children in orphanages, but also strengthened the mental quality and improved interpersonal communication skills of college students. What’s more, it created a practical platform for college students relying on social benefit services to develop a sense of responsibility and promote their personal self-realization.
