Abstract:A recent trend in the iterative methods for constructing fixed points of nonlinear mappings is to use the viscosity approximation technique. The advantage of this technique is that one can find a particular solution to the associated problems, and in most cases this particular solution solves some variational inequality. In this paper, we try to extend this technique to find a particular common fixed point of a finite family of asymptotically nonexpansive mappings in a Banach space which is reflexive and has a weakly continuous duality map. Both implicit and explicit viscosity approximation schemes are proposed and their strong convergence to a solution to a variational inequality is proved.

Abstract:Let X be a uniformly convex Banach space, and S, T be pair of mean nonexpansive mappings.Some necessary and sufficient conditions are given for Ishikawa iterative sequence converge to common fixed points, and we prove that the sequence of Ishikawa iterations associated with S and T converges to the common fixed point of S and T .This generalizes former results proved by Z. Gu and Y. Li [4].

Abstract:In this paper, we first introduced a new class of generalized non-expansive mappings, which was larger than the class satisfying the condition $ B_{\gamma, \mu } $. Also, we proposed a new iterative process to approximate the fixed point of the mapping we introduced in this work, then we prove convergence theorems for these mappings by using our iteration process. Lastly, a numerical example was given to show the efficiency of this new iteration process. Our results were the extension and generalization of many known results in the literature in fixed point theory.

Abstract:The purpose of this article is to prove some approximation theorems of common fixed points for countable families of total quasi-ϕ-asymptotically nonexpansive mappings which contain several kinds of mappings as its special cases in Banach spaces. Abstract:The aim of the paper is to construct an iterative method for finding the fixed points of nonexpansive mappings. We introduce a general implicit iterative scheme for finding an element of the set of fixed points of a nonexpansive mapping defined on a nonempty closed convex subset of a real Hilbert space. The strong convergence theorem for the proposed iterative scheme is proved under certain assumptions imposed on the sequence of parameters. Our results extend and improve the results given by Ke and Ma [Y. Ke, C. Ma, Fixed Point Theory Appl., 2015 (2015), 21 pages], Xu et al. [H. K. Xu, M. A. Alghamdi, N. Abstract:Consider a nonexpansive self-mapping T of a bounded closed convex subset of a Banach space. Banach's contraction principle guarantees the existence of approximating fixed point sequences for T. However such sequences may not be strongly convergent, in general, even in a Hilbert space. It is shown in this paper that in a real smooth and uniformly convex Banach space, appropriately constructed approximating fixed point sequences can be strongly convergent.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce and study the new m-step iterative procedure for a system of fuzzy strongly pseudo-contrastive mappings in Banach spaces. By using Petryshyn's inequality and the property of the uniformly smooth Banach space, we prove the convergence of the new rn-step iterative procedure for approximating the unique common fixed point, of a system of fuzzy strongly pseudo-contrastive mappings under some suitable conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, a new iterative algorithm involving nonexpansive mapping in Hilbert space is proposed and proved to be strongly convergent to a point which is simultaneously a fixed point of a nonexpansive mapping and a solution of an equilibrium problem. The results of the paper extend previous results, see, for instance, Takahashi and Takahashi (J Math Anal Appl 331:506–515, 2007), and other results in this field. Moreover, this algorithm is applied to find zeros of a maximal monotone operator and solve an optimization problem.
