Abstract:Based on the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators we introduce the Fresnel operator for converting Caldirola-Kanai Hamiltonian into time-independent harmonic oscillator Hamiltonian. The Fresnel operator with the parameters A,B,C,D corresponds to classical optical Fresnel transformation, these parameters are the solution to a set of partial differential equations set up in the above mentioned converting process. In this way the exact wavefunction solution of the Schrödinger equation governed by the Caldirola-Kanai Hamiltonian is obtained, which represents a squeezed number state. The corresponding Wigner function is derived by virtue of the Weyl ordered form of the Wigner operator and the order-invariance of Weyl ordered operators under similar transformations. The method used here can be suitable for solving Schrödinger equation of other time-dependent oscillators.

Abstract:In this work, we investigate coupled space–time fractional nonlinear Schrödinger equation (FNSE) arising in physics. The FNSE can be utilized to explain non-relativistic quantum mechanical phenomena. With the aid of the conformable fractional derivative (CFD) and fractional complex transform (FCT), we implement the extensive direct algebraic approach (EDAA), the behaviors of some of the generated solutions are shown as 3D-graphics for various with different fractal orders. The optical soliton solutions that are bright periodic, kink bright and kink-bright periodic are among these precise solutions. The acquired results demonstrate the simplicity, effectiveness, and capacity to produce additional kinds of exact solutions of these proposed methods, which are useful in deciphering the intricate physical interpretation of space–time FNSE.

Abstract:A procedure is presented for solving the Fokker-Planck equation with constant diffusion but non-stationary drift. It is based on the correspondence between the Fokker-Planck equation and the non-stationary Schrödinger equation. The formalism of supersymmetric quantum mechanics is extended by applying the Darboux transformation directly to the non-stationary Schrödinger equation. From a solution of a Fokker-Planck equation a solution of the Darboux partner is obtained. For drift coefficients satisfying the condition of shape invariance, a supersymmetric hierarchy of Fokker-Planck equations with solutions related by the Darboux transformation is obtained.

Abstract:Nonlinear evolution equations of non-integer order have elaborately been taken place in the research field for their importance bearing the significant role to delineate the interior characteristics of nonlinear wonders belonging to the nature. In this present effort, the time and space fractional nonlinear modified Camassa–Holm equation and the Schrodinger equation are disclosed for diverse and innovative wave structures by formulating accurate solutions. Adopting a new wave variable alongside the conformable fractional derivative we attain ordinary differential equations from fractional orders. Thereupon, the execution of directed extended Riccati scheme has brought out further novel results of the supposed models which might be presented in the literature newly. Finally, several physical appearances of the constructed solutions are presented in three dimensional outlines such as kink type, ball shape, compacton, periodic, peakon etc. The recommended technique is appeared as competent, productive and concise, and claimed to be used for further research.

Abstract:The research objective of this paper is to improve the exp( − φ ( ξ )) expansion method and its application, and some novel D'Alembert wave solutions are derived by applying the Ansӓtze method. A (3 + 1)-dimensional generalized Calogero–Bogoyavlenskii–Schiff equation is used as the research model. With the help of the Ansӓtze method, some new types of D'Alembert wave solutions are derived, such as interaction solutions composed of W -shaped solutions and half periodic wave solutions, envelope solution, and the molecule consisting of kink and antikink. In addition, based on the exp(− φ ( ξ )) expansion method, a novel method called the multiple exp(− φ ( ξ )) expansion method is proposed to construct multiple solitary wave solutions and mixed periodic wave solutions, as well as complexiton solutions composed of hyperbolic functions, trigonometric functions, exponential functions, and rational functions. Furthermore, these complexiton solutions can explain new interaction phenomenas of nonlinear waves, such as the propagation of bright (dark) solitary waves on periodic wave background, as well as the evolution of bright–dark solitary waves. Therefore, compared to traveling wave solutions and periodic wave solutions derived from exp(− φ ( ξ )) expansion method, the complexiton solution obtained in this paper can interpret the interactions between various parts of nonlinear systems more effectively, which helps people better understand the inherent laws in natural science.

Abstract:This research delves into a comprehensive exploration of exact solutions for the time-space fractional phi-four equation through the implementation of both the unified method and the modified Khater method. The Phi-four equation, rooted in the Klein-Gordon model, holds significance in diverse scientific realms, such as biological and nuclear physics, making it imperative to unravel its solutions. Leveraging a well-suited wave transformation, the governing equation is transformed into an ordinary differential equation, laying the groundwork for an in-depth analysis. The proposed methodologies yield a rich spectrum of solutions, encompassing trigonometric, hyperbolic, and rational forms. These solutions manifest as Kink, bright singular, dark, combo dark bright, periodic and singular periodic solutions, each characterized by explicit conditions defining their validity. The versatility and computational robustness of these methods establish a robust framework for soliton research. To provide a comprehensive assessment, a comparative analysis is conducted, contrasting the outcomes obtained through the proposed methodologies with those derived from earlier approaches. A key fact of this study is the visual representation of a subset of these solutions through carefully crafted graphical illustrations. Parameter values are judiciously selected to elucidate the nuanced characteristics of the solutions, enhancing our understanding of the model's physical behavior. It is noteworthy that all computations are meticulously executed with Mathematica software, underscoring the precision and computational efficiency integral to this research. The novelty of this paper lies in the identification of new solutions through the application of the unified and modified Khater methods. These solutions are not previously documented in existing literature. The visual depictions of dynamic behaviors through two and three-dimensional figures further contribute to the originality of our findings.

Abstract:In quantum mechanics courses, students often solve the Schrödinger equation for the harmonic oscillator with time-independent parameters. However, time-dependent quantum harmonic oscillators are relevant in modeling several problems as, for instance, the description of quantum motion of particles in traps, shortcuts to adiabaticity, as well as quantum scalar fields evolving in expanding universes. In the present paper, we discuss, with a pedagogical approach, the quantum harmonic oscillator with time-dependent frequency via the Lewis-Riesenfeld dynamical invariant method, revisiting the main steps to obtain the wave function associated with this model, and briefly discussing the relation between this oscillator and the generation of squeezed states. As examples of didactic applications of time-dependent harmonic oscillators and the Lewis-Riesenfeld method in quantum mechanics courses, we solve the following problems: the calculation of the transition probability associated with a harmonic oscillator which undergoes jumps in its frequency, and the analysis of the dynamics of a quantum particle in a Paul trap.

Abstract:Schrödinger's nonlinear equation is a fundamental model in fiber optics and many other areas of science. Using the Jacobi elliptic expansion function method, the time-fractional cubic-quartic nonlinear Schrödinger equation and cubic-quartic resonant nonlinear Schrödinger equation are investigated. By applying the effective Jacobi elliptic expansion function method, optical soliton solutions such as bright, dark, singular, periodic singular, exponential, and Jacobi elliptic function solutions have been obtained. The effect of the time-fractional derivative on the solutions is also revealed. Graphical representations are illustrated to showcase the physical properties of raised solutions, providing a comprehensive understanding of the solutions' functionality.

Abstract:The time-fractional unstable nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations capture the time evolution of disturbances within media, tailored for describing phenomena in unstable media to help model and understand the intricate dynamics of systems prone to instability, the behavior of disturbances in complex and unstable environments and many more. In this study, we investigate the exact and analytical solutions of time-fractional unstable nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equations with the time-fractional β -time derivative, a powerful technique known as the sine-Gordon expansion (SGE) method is used. Non-locality behaviors that cannot be modeled using classical calculus are included in this equation. It discusses the relationships between waves of different frequencies or the same frequency but with distinct polarizations having a diverse set of key applications in nonlinear optics. We begin by using a fixed-point argument to prove the existence and uniq ueness of solutions to the time-fractional problem under consideration. The partial differential equation of fractional order is transformed into an ordinary differential equation using the complex transformation. Numerous exact solutions are achieved with all the arbitrary parameters. The specific values of the obtained solutions' associated parameters are analyzed graphically with 3D plot as multiple soliton type of different wave solutions with the help of symbolic software. Understanding that the features of the solutions are far from intuitive because it is based on the parameter selection from the figures is difficult. The main objective of this paper is to investigates some fresh and further general solitary wave solution to the suggested equation that properly explain the above stated phenomena.

Abstract:In this work, the class of nonlinear complex fractional Kundu-Eckhaus equation is presented with a novel truncated M-fractional derivative. This model is significant and notable in quantum mechanics with good-natured physical characteristics. The motivation for this paper is to construct new solitary and kink wave solutions for the governing equation using the ansatz method. A complex-fractional transformation is applied to convert the fractional Kundu-Eckhaus equation into an ordinary differential equations system. The equilibria of the corresponding dynamical system will be presented to show the existence of traveling wave solutions for the governing model. A novel kink and solitary wave solutions of the governing model are realized by means of the proposed method. In order to gain insight into the underlying dynamics of the obtained solutions, some graphical representations are drawn. For more illustration, several numerical applications are given and analyzed graphically to demonstrate the ability and reliability of the method in dealing with various fractional engineering and physical problems.

Abstract:This work explores diverse novel soliton solutions of two fractional nonlinear models, namely the truncated time M-fractional Chafee-Infante (tM-fCI) and truncated time M-fractional Landau-Ginzburg-Higgs (tM-fLGH) models. The several soliton waves of time M-fractional Chafee-Infante model describe the stability of waves in a dispersive fashion, homogeneous medium and gas diffusion, and the solitary waves of time M-fractional Landau-Ginzburg-Higgs model are used to characterize the drift cyclotron movement for coherent ion-cyclotrons in a geometrically chaotic plasma. A confirmed unified technique exploits soliton solutions of considered fractional models. Under the conditions of the constraint, fruitful solutions are gained and verified with the use of the symbolic software Maple 18. Keeping special values of the constraint, this inquisition achieved kink shape, the collision of kink type and lump wave, the collision of lump and bell type, periodic lump wave, bell shape, some periodic soliton waves for time M-fractional Chafee-Infante and periodic lump, and some diverse periodic and solitary waves for time M-fractional Landau-Ginzburg-Higgs model successfully. The required solutions in this work have many constructive descriptions, and corporal behaviors have been incorporated through some abundant 3D figures with density plots. We compare the m-fractional derivative with the beta fractional derivative and the classical form of these models in two-dimensional plots. Comparisons with others’ results are given likewise.

Abstract:In this paper, the new optical wave solutions of truncated M-fractional perturbed Kundu–Eckhaus model with full non-linearity are obtained by utilizing the function technique and modified extended expansion function technique. The equation was independently introduced by Wiktor Eckhaus and by Anjan Kundu to model the propagation of waves in dispersive media. The model Kundu–Eckhaus equation is a general form of integrable system that is Gauge-equivalent to the mixed nonlinear Schrödinger equation. The solutions are in the form of dark soliton, bright soliton, singular solitons and other form of solutions. The gained solutions are helpful for the further development of concerned model. The obtained results have also been presented graphically in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional formats to discuss the dynamical features as well as the parametric dependence of the constructed solutions. The obtained solutions may be used for the propagation of the ultra-short femtosecond pulses and the rogue wave in an optical fiber. The study offers a highly spectacular and acceptable techniques to combine various intriguing wave demonstrations for more sophisticated models of the modern day.

Abstract:This study analyzes the Hirota–Satsuma–Ito equation, which discusses the propagation of unidirectional shallow‐water waves and the interactions between two long waves with different dispersion forms. For the proposed equation, the sine‐Gordon expansion method has been considered. This method is derived from the sine‐Gordon equation. Different types of solutions, namely, bright, periodic, and dark‐bright soliton solutions, are derived. When these solutions are compared to other previously published research, to our knowledge, the study concludes that they are innovative, and this method was not applied to this equation. The validation of the obtained solutions is verified and plotted as three‐dimensional figures to comprehend physical phenomena. With the proper parameter values, distinct graphs are created to convey the physical representation of specific solutions. The results of this paper show that the method effectively improves a system's nonlinear dynamical behavior. This study will be useful to a wide range of engineers who specialize in engineering models. The findings show that the computational approach is successful, simple, and even applicable to complex systems.

Abstract:Abstract. We consider a particular discretization of the harmonic oscillator which admits an orthogonal basis of eigenfunctions called Kravchuk functions possessing appealing properties from the numerical point of view. We analytically prove the almost second-order convergence of these discrete functions towards Hermite functions, uniformly for large numbers of modes. We then describe an efficient way to simulate these eigenfunctions and the corresponding transformation. We finally show some numerical experiments corroborating our different results.

Abstract:Based a spectral problem with an arbitrary parameter and Lenard operator pairs, we derive a generalized Kaup–Newell type hierarchy of nonlinear evolution equations, which is explicitly related to many important equations such as the Kundu equation, the Kaup–Newell (KN) equation, the Chen–Lee–Liu (CLL) equation, the Gerdjikov–Ivanov (GI) equation, the Burgers equation, the MKdV equation and the Sharma–Tasso–Olver equation. Furthermore, the separation of variables for x- and tm-constrained flows of the the generalized Kaup–Newell hierarchy is shown. Especially the Kundu, KN, CLL and GI equations are uniformly decomposed into systems of solvable ordinary differential equations. A hyperelliptic Riemann surface and Abel–Jacobi coordinates are introduced to straighten the associated flow, from which the algebro-geometric solutions of these equations are explicitly constructed in terms of the Riemann theta functions by standard Jacobi inversion technique.

Abstract:We present a full algebraic derivation of the wavefunctions of the simple harmonic oscillator in coordinate and momentum space. This derivation illustrates the abstract approach to the simple harmonic oscillator by completing the derivation of the representation-dependent wavefunctions from the representation-independent energy eigenfunctions. It is simple to incorporate into the undergraduate and graduate curricula. This new derivation begins with the standard approach that was first presented by Dirac in 1947 (and is modified slightly here in the spirit of the Schroedinger factorization method), and then supplements it by employing the translation (or boost) operator to determine the wavefunctions algebraically, without any derivatives. In addition, we provide a summary of the history of this approach, which seems to have been neglected by most historians of quantum mechanics, until now.
