Features of sediment and reservoir in middle base-level cycles of Chang 6 reservoir set in Panguliang Oilfield

Abstract:Aim To give scientific supports to the production by studying the features of strata and reservoir in middle base-level cycles of Chang 6 reservoir set in Panguliang Oilfield.Methods Guided by high-resolution sequence stratigraphy and sedimentology,on the basis of identification of multi-order base-level,recognition of stacking patterns of short-time cycles and correlation of multi-wells,Chang 6 reservoir can be classified into several middle-term base-level cycles,and the characteristic of strata and reservoir in different cycles are also studied.Results Seven middle-term base-level cycles can be divided in Chang 6 reservoir,and under control of the variation of ratio between containing space and sediment alimentation,the stacking patterns of short-time cycles;the faceis sequence and facies assemblage;the distribution of sandbody both in horizon and vertical;the physical properties and areal heterogeneity of the reservoir all exist in grading order in each middle-time base-level cycle.Conclusion The base-level sequence plays an important role in the sedimentary characteristic of the strata and properties of reservoir.
