Abstract:Two new species of the genus Aalatettix Zheng & Mao, 2002, namely Aalatettix yangi sp. nov. and Aalatettix xiai sp. nov. are described and illustrated. The new species Aalatettix yangi sp. nov. is allied to Aalatettix gibbosa Zheng, Cao & Chen, 2011, but upper margin of pronotum waved in lateral view, width of frontal ridge narrower than width of basal joint of antennae, hind tibiae dark brown, base not pale. The new species Aalatettix xiai sp. nov. is allied to Aalatettix yangi sp. nov., but length of pronotum shorter, not reaching epiproct, width of vertex 1.5 times diameter of eye, lateral carinae of pronotum contracted backward distinctly, posterior apex of lower margin angular on lateral lobe of pronotum, lower margin of median femur waved, antennae placed under lower margin of eyes. The type specimens are deposited in the National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan, China.

Abstract:Seven trichodorid species including a new one (Trichodorus hangzhouensissp. nov., T. nanjingensis, T. pakistanensis, T. cedarus, Paratrichodorus porosus, Nanidorus renifer and N. minor) were recovered from the rhizosphere of different hosts in 13 provinces of China. Each of the recovered species was characterized based on morphology and molecular data using rRNA gene sequences. Trichodorus hangzhouensissp. nov. is characterized by its males having medium-sized onchiostyle (46–49 µm) and three ventromedian cervical papillae (CP) anterior to the secretory-excretory (S-E) pore, CP1 located opposite the anterior part of isthmus, S-E pore opposite the isthmus or anterior end of pharyngeal bulb, spicules slightly ventrally curved, relatively small, 33.2 (32.0–34.5) µm long, wider slightly marked capitulum, lamina partially striated without bristles at striation; and females having rounded triangular sclerotized vaginal pieces with tips directed towards vulva, 1.5–2.0 µm sized, at about 1 µm apart, vulva pore-like in ventral view. Phylogenetic analysis based on D2-D3 28S rRNA gene sequences differentiated the new species among Trichodorus species from Europe, Asia and USA which formed a large clade. A review of the distribution of Trichodorus, Nanidorus and Paratrichodorus species revealed that T. cedarus, T. nanjingensis, T. pakistanensis and P. porosus are the most widespread species recorded from different provinces of China. This is the first extensive study of trichodorid species occurring in China.

Abstract:During our studying of the fauna of Tibet, China, many specimens of the subfamily Tachininae ( Diptera , Tachinidae ) were collected and examined. Three species are described here as new to science, Leskia latisurstyla sp. nov. , Trichoformosomyia cuonaensis sp. nov. , and Tachina jilongensis sp. nov. , and two species, Nemoraea javana (Brauer & Bergenstamm, 1894) and N. echinata Mesnil, 1953, are newly recorded from Tibet. In addition to their descriptions, illustrations, and diagnoses, three identification keys are provided. The specimens in this study are kept in the Insect Collection of Shenyang Normal University, China ( SYNU ).

Abstract:Two new species of the genus Mongolotettix Rehn, 1928 from China, i.e. Mongolotettix wulingyuanensis sp. nov. and Mongolotettix. shaanxiensis sp. nov. are described herein. M. wulingyuanensis sp. nov. is similar to M. angustiseptus Wan, Ren & Zhang, 1998, but differs from the latter by body larger, length of body ♂ 25.6 mm, ♀ 39.1mm; tegmina of male without a white stripe on the fore margin at base; subgenital plate of male conical, sides concave, apex acute; both outer sides of epiphallus without acute projection in the middle. M. shaanxiensis sp. nov. is similar to M. anomopterus (Caudell, 1921), but differs from the latter by tegmina of male longer, reaching the end of epiproct, without a white stripe on the fore margin at base, tegmina of female longer, reaching the middle of 2nd abdominal tergum, width of epiphallus larger than height, upper ovipositor valve slender, length 3.8 times its maximum width. A key to all nine known species of the genus from China is given. Type specimens are deposited in the Northwest Plateau Institute of Biology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xining, 810001, China.

Abstract:The genus Aalatettix Zheng & Mao, 2002 (Orthoptera, Tetrigoidea, Tetrigidae) contains 9 valid species in China (Zheng & Mao, 2002; Zheng, Cao & Chen, 2011; Zheng, Lin & Zhang, 2013; Zheng, 2014a; Zheng, 2014b; Zheng & Lin, 2015; Zheng, Shi & Yin, 2015). During the identification of pygmy grasshopper specimens collected from Taiwan, China in 1998, a new species of the genus Aalatettix Zheng & Mao, 2002 was found and described below. A key to all known species of the genus is given in this paper. The type specimens are deposited in the National Museum of Natural Science, Taichung, Taiwan, China.

Abstract:A new species of the genus Formosatettix Tinkham, 1937, namely Formosatettix xiai sp. n. is described and illustrated. The new species is allied to Formosatettix wulaoshanensis Zheng & Xu, 2010, but differs from the latter by the apex of pronotum reaching distal 2/3 of hind femur, width of frontal ridge equal to that of basal segment of antennae, length of a segment of antennae in the middle 3 times its width, lower margin of fore and mid femora straight, pronotum dorsally with one black spot on each side. The new species is also allied to Formosatettix tianmushanensis Zheng & Li, 2001, but the apex of pronotum reaching distal 2/3 of hind femur, the width of frontal ridge equal to that of basal antennal segment, length of upper ovipositor valve 3 times its width, length of a segment in the middle of antennae 5.0 times its width and pronotum dorsally with one black spot on each side. The type specimens are deposited in the College of Life Sciences, Hebei University, Baoding, Hebei, China.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose one new genus with one new species from Hainan Province, namely, Neophlugiolopsis gen. nov. and N. longiprocera sp. nov. The differences between the new genus and allied genera in morphology are discussed, which can be distinguished by the shape of the posterior process of the tenth abdominal tergite and cerci in males. All specimens were deposited in Guangxi Normal University.

Abstract:The genus Deuterixys Mason, 1981 of the tribe Cotesiini (Hymenopteran, Braconidae, Microgastrinae) is recorded from China for the first time. Two new species, Deuterixys bifossalis Zeng & Chen, sp. n. and Deuterixys curticalcar Zeng & Chen, sp. n., are described and illustrated, and a key to the Old World species of Deuterixys is given. In addition, Wilkinsonellus paramplus Long & van Achterberg, 2003 is recorded from China for the first time and illustrated.

Abstract:We provide a key to mute Trigonidiinae species from China, and provide morphological features of some nondescript species in brown color. We established a new genus, Zilingxi He gen. nov. with two new species Z. danmai He sp. nov. and Z. dian He sp. nov. from China. The new genus possesses a black line above clypeus; pseudepiphallic paramere of male genitalia possessing 23 branches; ovipositor shorter than other genera. Two new species are very similar in morphology, but different in the color pattern in frontal rostrum, and the shape of male genitalia. The type specimens are deposited in Museum of Biology, East China Normal University (ECNU).

Abstract:The genus Mongolotettix Rehn, 1928 is a small genus of family Adrididae. It has nine species discovered from the Far Eastern Asian countries, including China, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, and Russia [Bolívar, 1898; Uvarov, 1914; Caudell, 1921; Chogsomzhav, 1974; Li et Lian, 1994; Wan, Ren et Zhang, 1998; Xie et Li, 2000, Kim et Kim 2005; Dong, et al, 2015; Shi et al, 2016; Storozhenko, 2016; Eades et al, 2017; Zhang et al, 2017]. In the present paper, we describe a new species of the genus from Hubei, China. Type specimens are deposited in the College of Plant Protection, Shandong Agricultural University, Taian, Shandong, China.
