Abstract:The paper divides the development of thoughts of Modern Chinese Journalistic Liberalism into the following episodes: the cultural enlightenment of May Fourth Period, the Economic and professional appeals during the 1920s, saving the nation and war resistance against Japanese invasion from 1937 to 1945, of which period the liberalism was in the low tide, and the "third line" of political journalistic liberalism in the mid and late of the 1940s, of which period the liberalism reached its peak but quickly faded.
