Russo-Georgian Conflict and the SCO

Abstract:Changes brought about by Russo-Georgian conflicts to the international relations have made the SCO confronted with complicated international and regional environments.In addition to posing a severe challenge to future direction of the SCO as a result of those conflicts that have aggravated confrontation between the U.S.and Russia,foreign policies of Russia,its policy toward the former Soviet-dominated areas,especially Central Asia and its policy and attitude toward the SCO,will exert profound influences on the SCO.Under new situation,the SCO ought to make some breakthroughs in regional cooperation,and do something useful in regional security,and Afghan situation in particular,so as to retain good conditions and vitality of the Organization.
