A Study on the Stress and Stressors of Women with Twin Pregnancy

Abstract:Objective To assess the stress level and the main stressors in women with twin pregnancy.Methods The Pregnancy Stress Scale was used to assess the stress level and stressors in 56 women with twin pregnancy.Fifty six normal pregnant women served as the controls.Results The stress level of the twin pregnant women was higher than that of normal pregnant women(P 0.05).The concern about the health and safety of mother and fetus was the most frequent stressor for twin pregnant women;the concern about safe delivery was the most important stressor both for twin pregnant women and normal pregnant women.Conclusion Doctors should pay attention to the stress of the twin pregnant women and manage the stress effectively to maintain the health of the mother and fetus.
