Abstract:In order to resolve the problems of large area,complicated routing and high power in decoding low-density parity-check codes(LDPC),this work presented a LDPC decoding approach,which is specified with parity check matrices based on circulant matrices,with structured memory and a corresponding partial parallel decoding architecture.By studying the structured parity matrix,the characteristic of the message passing between bit nodes and check nodes was indicated,and then a predetermined scheme of message storing with high flexibility and efficiency was proposed.Based on this scheme,a partial parallel decoding architecture was provided which significantly reduced the power and critical paths.Simulation of the LDPC in Chinese digital terrestrial television broadcasting standard on FPGA platform showed that the proposed decoding approach over AWGN channel achieved good performance,and suffered negligible performance loss compared with the double precision while effectively reducing the operation complexity.

Abstract:Aimed at the problem of axial angle encoder have great influence on the result of change of traditional decoder circuit,a new method of decode and its hardware circuit implement is presented.A full digital scheme is used in this method of encoder to obtain the original information.The key parameters can be changed adaptively and environmental variation can be compensated.An intelligent filter is used for disposing coarse signal,to get best performance of filter and make the parameters of filter changed with encoder's speed.Practice has shown that the workload of translating-circuit's debugging and photoelectrical encoder's installation is reduced greatly.The encoder is reliable in severe environment.
Improved Decoding Approach of Low-Density Parity-Check Codes with Finite Precision

Abstract:An improved parallel decoding approach of sum-product algorithm for low-density parity-check codes(LDPC) was presented in order to solve the problem of divergence in decoding iteration with finite precision,.In addition,the reason for improving the convergence speed was discussed detailedly and the pipeline structure was provided.By eliminating the unexpected state in which operation data didn't satisfy input rules due to the finite precision effect thus could not be preceded correctly,the iteration convergence was improved efficiently and led to decoding with no error.Compared with the original parallel approach,this improvement don't involve too much control logic and computational complexity.Simulation shows that the proposed decoding approach over additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) channel achieves good performance,especially at high code rate,it suffers negligible performance loss compared with the forward-backward approach while reducing the operation complexity effectively.

Abstract:A photoelectric signal, output by a photoelectric receiver, may detrimentally change after the photoelectric encoder is used for a period of time or when the environment changes; this will directly affect the accuracy of the encoder and lead to fatal errors in the encoder. To maintain its high accuracy, we propose an encoder that can work in a variety of environments and that adopts full digital processing. A signal current that travels from the receiver of a photoelectric encoder is converted into a voltage signal via current limiting resistance. All signals are directly processed in the data processor component of the system. The encoder converts all the signals into its normalized counterpart. Then, the angle of the encoder is calculated using the normalized value. The calculated encoder angle compensates for any error. The final encoder angle is obtained, and the encoder angle is output accordingly. Experiments show that this method can greatly reduce the encoder’s volume. This method also reduces the encoder error from 167 arcseconds to 53 arcseconds. The encoder can still maintain a high accuracy during environmental changes, especially in harsh environments where there are higher accuracy requirements.

Abstract:This paper presents a novel architecture of MPEG audio decoder, the input audio stream will not be serialized before decoding. Barrel shift register is used to fetch data from input buffer, which improves the efficiency of decoding process substantially. Dedicated hardware is designed to deal with input and degroup. In this scheme, the computation amount of bottleneck module can be reduced to one-fourths of the original one, and the memory storage requires half of the standard synthesis filter bank. This decoder can be used in DVB and DAB source decoding and etc.

Abstract:To improve the feedback precision of the photoelectric encoder and remove the disturbance of the rectangular waveform,a photoelectric encoder measuring system based on complex programmable logic device(CPLD) was offered,which had the ability of frequency multiplication and filtering.The photoelectric encoder measurement principle was introduced.The system was divided into three modules,including filtering phase,frequency and the counter.These three modules were designed and simulated.The simulation results show that the design methods meet signal processing requirements of high-precision servo motor orthogonal coding.

Abstract:The majority of encoder signal process circuits only support one type of the specific photoelectric encoder, either absolute encoder or incremental encoder. In order to realize the compatibility for both two types of encoders simultaneously, a novel encoder signal process circuit based on FPGA is presented in this paper. Firstly, a series of universal functions are analyzed and demonstrated. On this basis, the approaches on multiplexing interfaces is designed and verified by simulation. Importantly, the compatibility is solved by multiplexing pins of the IC chip in terms of the hardware interface. As for the software interface, FPGA internal signal acquisition and processing programs deal with the different encoder protocols. Finally, two different types of encoders are concurrently connected to the circuit for system testing. The result indicates that the real-time angular position curve is smooth and the measured angle value is accurately displayed on the host computer. Consequently, the stability and compatibility are successfully proven. Besides, those expensive dedicated interface circuits could be replaced by the proposed circuit, as well as the costs can be significantly reduced. The circuit is ideal for applications requiring high resolution and fast data acquisition in industrial control fields.

Abstract:The paper introduces a photoelectric encoder circuit for performing sixty arithmetical operation of compressed BCD codes. Using VHDL in programming and simulation, the software is developed on the platform of Quartus 5.1, and the hardware is based on EPM1270T144C5 which is a CPLD of the Altera′s MAXⅡfamily. The acquired encoder circuit can make the photoelectric encoder do faster arithmetical operation to advance the dynamic performance level of a position detecting system. The paper introduces the principle and design of the encoder circuit and successfully make it work in the system. It also finds out several defects in the current system and proposes some suggestions to make an improvement.

Abstract:The demands placed on the quality of products and services within the realm of electronic technology have reached unprecedented heights. The utilization of electronic decoders has thus become incredibly extensive to meet these evolving needs. Among the integral components of electronic decoders, the absolute value detector holds a significant position. In our pursuit to enhance the efficiency of electronic decoders, this paper have identified substantial room for improvement within the currently prevalent absolute value detector designs. This paper introduces a novel absolute value detector design scheme that promises remarkable advancements. It is worth noting that the performance of this newly proposed absolute value detector far surpasses that of the traditional counterparts. Through rigorous calculations and testing, our absolute value detector exhibits an impressive performance profile, boasting a delay of 34.13FO4 (1V) and an energy consumption of 184.832Eu (1V). These results undoubtedly hold the potential to catalyze innovation in digital decoder technology, offering fresh insights into how we can elevate the overall quality of digital decoders. This contribution paves the way for product enhancements and serves as a valuable resource for those striving to stay at the forefront of electronic technology advancements in our fast-paced information-driven society.

Abstract:This study aims to design an optoelectronic integrated chip to read absolute code information. A detector array matching the code disk was designed to better realize high-speed low-light detection. For the pseudo-random code channel, the readout circuit adopted a linear array CMOS image sensor architecture, where each pixel corresponded to an independent readout unit, making the readout signal more advantageous in terms of both reading speed and noise. For the incremental code channel, the readout circuit followed a distributed arrangement design, and a two-stage pipelined amplifier architecture was adopted to eliminate the influence of even harmonics and ensure the quality of the read signal. Finally, a high-precision angular displacement sensor test platform based on an optical continuous closed-loop was built to test the encoder prototype equipped with the chip. The results show that an angular resolution of 22 bits and a subdivision accuracy of 5.64 ″ have been achieved.

Abstract:A virtual absolute optical encoder and decoder system is presented.It has advantages of high precision,compact structure and reliable output.The paper contains the characteristic of the encoder and coding theory,the stable electronic interpolation,and the achievement of high precision address by combining the INDEX signal and the interpolation result through ADC.Finally,it utilizes FPGA to build an embedded system,and achieves a reliable repeatable positioning system.The results show that the whole system can work well with stable and reliable outputs.

Abstract:In this paper,an encoder interface was designed,in which phase detection,enhancement of resolution and counting of encoder pulses were all implemented with simple hardware,and potential data error due to propagation time delay of the counter was removed.With the interface,a microcomputer or DSP can easily acquire the position data from the encoder through a parallel port.

Abstract:An advanced structure of a programmable digital video encoder and its implementation are presented. Structures of multi-standard compatibility and digital filter modules have been optimized. The chip is compatible to world-wide standards of NTSC/ PAL / PAL/M. And the I~2C protocol port has been used to write the inner ports. The device, which occupies a chip area of 2.98 mm × 2.97 mm and contains 38-k gates, is implemented in 0.35 μm CMOS technology. Test results show that the encoder can meet the requirement of encoding digital video code streams.

Abstract:Based on the rearranged Min-Sum decoding algorithm, a high speed partially parallel decoder architecture suited for quasi-cyclic low density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes is proposed. A log-barrel-shifter is designed to reduce complexity of interconnection. By introducing micro-code-instruction, the decoder becomes independent with certain code rate and its regularity. It can also support any code rate without any changes in hardware. To adaptively control the power consumption under different channel conditions, a dynamic power control unit is adopted. Based on proposed decoder architecture, a QC-LDPC decoder for Chinese digital television?multi-media broadcasting (DTMB) standard (GB20600—2006) system is implemented based on SMIC 0.18 μm process, its frequency can be reached up to 100 MHz at the cost of 620 k gates.

Abstract:With iterative decoding, most LDPC codes have a weakness known as error floor. In this work, we propose a fixed bits LDPC decoding scheme to improve the ability of LDPC transmission. The method is universal as it can be applied to any code/channel model/decoding algorithm and it improves performance greatly, without losing the code regularity, without changing the decoding algorithm. Simulation results show that the error floor performance also can be significantly improved with this decoding scheme.

Abstract:A novel decoder for synchronous optical CDMA using modified prime sequence codes is proposed. The performance of the proposed system is analyzed under the assumption of Poisson shot noise model for the receiver photodetector. The decoder technique is shown to be more effective to improve the bit error probability performance than the method using an optical hard-limiter.

Abstract:In response to the engineering, miniaturization, and high measurement accuracy requirements of encoders, this paper proposes a new type of absolute photoelectric encoder based on a position-sensitive detector (PSD). It breaks the traditional encoder's code track design and adopts a continuous and transparent code track design, which has the advantages of small volume, high angle measurement accuracy, and easy engineering. The research content of this article mainly includes the design of a new code disk, decoding circuit, linear light source, and calibration method. The experimental results show that the encoder designed in this article has achieved miniaturization, simple installation and adjustment, and easy engineering. The volume of the encoder is Φ50 mm × 30 mm; after calibration, the resolution is better than 18 bits, and the accuracy reaches 5.4′′, which further demonstrates the feasibility of the encoder's encoding and decoding scheme.
