Abstract:PDM (product data management) is a powerful tool, and by it the enterprises improve their own competitiveness. Combining the current domestic and foreign situation and the development trend of PDM, based on the international standard STEP, some deep researches on key technology of PDM are done, including product data model, extension of parts type, deformation configuration based on rules, deformation configuration, work flow model and integration. Each key technology integrates the new development trend and the design idea. The paper has instruction value for PDM research. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media.
