Abstract:In this paper we study the existence of closed convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space Rn+1 such that a Weingarten curvature, regarded as a function of their unit normal, is equal to a given positive function on the unit sphere Sn. Two classical problems of this type, namely the Christoffel problem [6] and the Minkowski problem [16], which address respectively the cases of harmonic and Gauss curvature, were completely solved in the 1970’s [7,9,17]. Besides the harmonic and Gauss curvatures, the most interesting Weingarten curvatures are probably the mean curvature, or more generally the k-curvatures (1 ≤ k ≤ n)

Abstract:We consider the problem of deforming a one-parameter family of hypersurfaces immersed into closed Riemannian manifolds with positive curvature operator. The hypersurface in this family satisfies mean curvature flow while the ambient metric satisfying the normalized Ricci flow. We prove that if the initial background manifold is an approximation of a spherical space form and the initial hypersurface also satisfies a suitable pinching condition, then either the hypersurfaces shrink to a round point in finite time or converge to a totally geodesic sphere as the time tends to infinity.

Abstract:In this paper a flow of convex hypersurfaces in the Euclidean space by the linear combination of the mean curvature and the n-th root of the Gauss-Kronecker curvature is considered. It is proved that such deforming convex hypersurfaces converge to a round sphere in the Huisken's sense.

Abstract:Some geometric behaviours of complete solutions to mean curvature flow before the singularities occur are studied. The author obtains the estimates of the rate of the distance between two fixed points and the derivatives of the second fundamental form. By use of a new maximum principle, some geometric properties at infinity are obtained.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the stability of the volume preserving mean curvature flow of closed hypersurfaces in the hyperbolic space. We prove that an L-2-almost umbilical hypersurface will be deformed to a totally umbilical hypersurface along the flow. Our result removes the assumption on the mean curvature in the theorems of Huang-Lin-Zhang [Peking J. Math. (2023)] and Leng-Xu-Zhao [Int. J. Math. (2014)].

Abstract:Let M be an n-dimensional closed hypersurface with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in a unit sphere. Denote by H and S the mean curvature and the squared length of the second fundamental form. We prove that if a(n, H) <= S <= alpha( n, H)+ CnH2, where n >= 4 and H not equal 0, then S = alpha( n, H) and M is a Clifford torus Sn-1(r(1)) x S-1(r(2)). Here alpha(n, H) = n + n(3)/2(n -1) H-2 - n(n - 2)/2(n - 1) root n(2)H(4) + 4(n - 1) H-2, and C-n is a positive constant explicitly depending on n. The emphasis is that our gap theorem imposes no restriction on the range of mean curvature. Moreover, we obtain gap theorems for complete hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature and constant scalar curvature in space forms.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to investigate the convergence of the volume-preserving mean curvature flow of closed hypersurfaces in space forms. Assume that the initial hypersurface satisfies suitable integral curvature pinching conditions. We prove that along the volume-preserving mean curvature flow the initial hypersurface will be deformed to a totally umbilical sphere.

Abstract:We employ the harmonic mean curvature flow of strictly convex closed hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space to prove Alexandrov-Fenchel type inequalities relating quermassintegrals to the total curvature, which is the integral of Gaussian curvature on the hypersurface. The resulting inequality allows us to use the inverse mean curvature flow to prove Alexandrov-Fenchel inequalities between the total curvature and the area for strictly convex hypersurfaces. Finally, we apply the harmonic mean curvature flow to prove a new class of geometric inequalities for h-convex hypersurfaces in hyperbolic space.

Abstract:In the last 15 years, White and Huisken-Sinestrari developed a far-reaching structure theory for the mean curvature flow of mean convex hypersurfaces. Their papers provide a package of estimates and structural results that yield a precise description of singularities and of high curvature regions in a mean convex flow. In the present paper, we give a new treatment of the theory of mean convex (and k-convex) flows. This includes: (1) an estimate for derivatives of curvatures, (2) a convexity estimate, (3) a cylindrical estimate, (4) a global convergence theorem, (5) a structure theorem for ancient solutions, and (6) a partial regularity theorem. Our new proofs are both more elementary and substantially shorter than the original arguments. Our estimates are local and universal. A key ingredient in our new approach is the new non- collapsing result of Andrews. Some parts are also inspired by the work of Perelman. In a forthcoming paper, we will give a new construction of mean curvature flow with surgery based on the theorems established in the present paper.

Abstract:Given a positive function F on S-n which satisfies a convexity condition, for 1 <= r <= n, we define for hypersurfaces in Rn+1 the r-th anisotropic mean curvature function H-r(F), a generalization of the usual r-th mean curvature function. We prove that a compact embedded hypersurface without boundary in Rn+1 with H-r(F) constant is the Wulff shape, up to translations and homotheties. In the case r = 1, our result is the anisotropic version of Alexandrov's Theorem, which gives an affirmative answer to an open problem of E Morgan.

Abstract:We prove that the Inverse Mean Curvature Flow of a non-star-shaped, mean-convex embedded sphere in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$ with symmetry about an axis and sufficiently long, thick necks exists for all time and homothetically converges to a round sphere as $t \rightarrow \infty$. Our approach is based on a localized version of the parabolic maximum principle. We also present two applications of this result. The first is an extension of the Minkowski inequality to the corresponding non-star-shaped, mean-convex domains in $\mathbb{R}^{n+1}$. The second is a connection between IMCF and minimal surface theory. Based on previous work by Meeks and Yau and using foliations by IMCF, we establish embeddedness of the solution to Plateau's problem and a finiteness property of stable immersed minimal disks for certain Jordan curves in $\mathbb{R}^{3}$.

First, we investigate the existence of a closed hypersurface in Euclidean space with prescribed mixed quotient type Weingarten curvature. This result can be viewed as an improvement of the result of Chen-Tu-Xiang [12, Theorem 1.1]. Second, we study the homogeneous mixed Weingarten curvature problem and the convexity of the corresponding hypersurface.

Abstract:In this paper, we give the geometric meaning of hypersurfaces with constant mean curvature in a Finsler manifold by using volume preserving variation. Then we give the correspondence between principal curvatures of submanifolds by a homothetic navigation, which means that some geometric properties of submanifolds are the same. Finally, we deduce a Heintze-Karcher type inequality and prove an Alexandrov type theorem in special Finsler spaces.

Abstract:In this article, we will use inverse mean curvature flow to establish an optimal Sobolev-type inequality for hypersurfaces $$\Sigma $$ with nonnegative sectional curvature in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ . As an application, we prove the hyperbolic Alexandrov–Fenchel inequalities for hypersurfaces with nonnegative sectional curvature in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ : $$\begin{aligned} \int _{\Sigma } p_{2k}\ge \omega _{n-1}\left[ \left( \frac{|\Sigma |}{\omega _{n-1}}\right) ^\frac{1}{k} +\left( \frac{|\Sigma |}{\omega _{n-1}}\right) ^{\frac{1}{k}\frac{n-1-2k}{n-1}}\right] ^k, \end{aligned}$$ where $$p_i$$ is the normalized i-th mean curvature. Equality holds if and only if $$\Sigma $$ is a geodesic sphere in $$\mathbb {H}^n$$ . (J Differ Geom 98:237–260, 2014) under the stronger condition that $$\Sigma $$ is horospherical convex.
A New Version of Huisken's Convergence Theorem for Mean Curvature Flow in Spheres

Abstract:We prove that if the initial hypersurface of the mean curvature flow in spheres satisfies a sharp pinching condition, then the solution of the flow converges to a round point or a totally geodesic sphere. Our result improves the famous convergence theorem due to Huisken [9]. Moreover, we prove a convergence theorem under the weakly pinching condition. In particular, we obtain a classification theorem for weakly pinched hypersurfaces. It should be emphasized that our pinching condition implies that the Ricci curvature of the initial hypersurface is positive, but does not imply positivity of the sectional curvature.
