Abstract:In order to study the design strategy for rural green building which decrease energy consume and improve the environment quality,the rural buildings in Baisui Fang,Fengshui Town,Tonglu Xian,Zhejiang was especially selected as the research object.Based on the site investigation,and the statistics of questionnaires with the help of spss,living conditions & working-resting styles are analyzed in this paper.According to topography,climate,a design combined with local rural feature and energy-saving measures is put forward.With the verification of the software by ecotect sunshine,pkpm energy-saving,this design is proved to save energy by 78.6%,and be more suitable for living.
Energy saving effect of external thermal insulation of residential building under actual energy usage condition in hot summer and cold winter zone

Abstract:According to Design standard for energy efficiency of residential buildings in hot summer and cold winter zone (JGJ 134-2010),there is a great difference between continuous energy utilization and actual energy usage.Based on the large scale of questionnaire survey in Hangzhou,a typical city in hot summer and cold winter zone,obtains the basic air conditioning behavior of local residents,the tolerant temperature and the average set temperature.Analyses the energy saving effects of the exterior thermal insulation of the residential buildings under different energy usage modes using building energy consumption simulation software DeST.The results show that reasonably setting the design condition in energy saving design standards is an important premise for accurately evaluating the energy saving effect of the exterior thermal insulation.

Abstract:With the gradual development of the new rural construction, and the continuous improvement of the rural per capita living space, sustainable development of the rural living environment is becoming an increasingly urgent task. This paper selected three different terrain villages in the rural area of Hangzhou as a study object, which located in the Middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River. Firstly, the investigation, collection and analysis on the building status, energy data and residents' subjective feeling of the three villages had been done through basic research and sampling questionnaire. Secondly, it selected two typical housing in each village, separately carried on the measurement of the building physical environment and computer quantitative simulation of the ventilation, lighting, and energy consumption, along with the comprehensive evaluation with the simulation results. Finally, the major existing problems of the living environment in the rural areas have been found, according to which some operable implementation strategy and policy Suggestions have been put forward.

Abstract:There exists huge differences in climatic conditions and occupant energy-consuming behavior between Berlin and the "hot summer and cold winter zone of China" (HSCW), which implies that the building energy consumption compositions of two regions are completely different. In this paper, dynamic energy consumption simulation for passive houses with Design Builder software was performed. The results indicated that the improvement of building airtightness and exterior wall insulation can reduce annual heating and cooling load effectively, and more importantly the effect is much stronger on heating load than cooling load. Because of this, the paper proposed that the ratio of heating and cooling electricity consumption (r) should be adopted as an important index in energy efficiency evaluation of passive houses. It would contribute to the reasonable selection of ventilation modes and the exterior wall heat transfer coefficient, and benefit the healthy development of passive houses in HSCW.

Abstract:The Hot Summer-Cold Winter Zone is a highly developed and densely populated area in China. Like many parts of the world that suffer cold and hot climate variations, the adaptive thermal comfort range here is wider than the standards, and inhabitants are accustomed to intermittent opening windows for ventilation and intermittent heating and cooling as well. Standards for residential buildings in this area are based on 24h continuous air-conditioning, resulting in large deviations between predictive effects of energy-saving technologies and actual effects. In order to achieve the energy consumption goal of 20 kWh/m(2) set for the residential buildings in this area and more accurately predict the energy-saving effects of optimized envelopes under the actual operation mode, this paper analysed optimisation strategies packages of envelopes by dynamic simulation based on residents' thermal comfort demands and intermittent behavioural characteristics. The results show that 1) compared to intermittent operation modes, the result of performance improvements of envelopes based on continuous mode may inaccurate; 2) thermal regulation behaviour optimisation can significantly reduce energy consumption; and 3) in intermittent modes, improving airtightness can save energy by 9.6%-46.7%, while the figures for envelopes and interior walls and floors are 13.6%-37.3% and 6.0%-7.9%. Seven optimisation schemes are proposed to guide the residential energy-saving design in this area. These findings could provide information for updating standards.

Abstract:The hot summer and cold winter zone in China plays a crucial part in both the population and economy of the nation. Such zone is characterized as hot and stuffy in summer, while cold and wet in winter. Due to such hostile climate conditions, many existing buildings in such zone suffer from poor thermal performance either in the envelope or indoor environment. With the advance of the social economy, there is an increasing demand for improving the indoor thermal environment. Hence an energy-efficient and low-cost retrofit of these buildings has become a priority in such zone. Due to the enormous types of buildings in this zone, it becomes highly important to identify standard buildings for each type, as to offer guidance for designing proper retrofit strategies correspondingly. To achieve that, this study develops a performance index system (PIS) based on architectural typology, demonstrated though examples of residential buildings. The PIS consists of construction year, plane form, floor area, building orientation, number of floors, building structure and the types of cold and heat sources. Three hundred and four residential buildings in an administrative region of Hangzhou were selected to collect relevant data of the index system. Through correlation and cluster analysis, the classification indexes of these residential buildings are calculated based on the influence of each performance index on the electricity energy consumption throughout the year, and six types of buildings are finally refined as representative standard types. The methodology of standard building selection through PIS proposed in this study is not restricted to residential buildings, and thus provides an efficient methodological support for the classification and retrofit of many types of existing buildings in the hot summer and cold winter zone in China.

Abstract:Aseries of questionnaire survey on condition of winter heating of residential building and field measure of typical cases were launched in Hangzhou. The characteristics of winter energy utilization in Hangzhou were found out through analyzed the survey data. In addition to air conditioning other heating devices are also important in Hangzhou which is a typical city in hot summer and cold winter zone. Moreover as high as 98%dwelling houses have air-conditions but in the winter the number of dwellinghouse did not open air-conditioning account for about 1/3-1/2. Combined with the analysis of the measured data of typical cases can concluded that winter air conditioning use rate and time lengthper day are not high. It also shows that in the hot summer and cold winter area air conditioning is more important for summer cooling.

Abstract:Hot summer and cold winter zone is a typical climate region in China with high temperatures and stuffiness in summer and low temperature and moisture in winter. The existing buildings bear of both poor thermal performance of building envelope and poor indoor thermal environment. With the development of social economy, increasing demand towards building indoor thermal environment is much more urgent than before, and hence energy consumption has rapidly risen. Energy efficiency retrofit with low cost has become a priority in this region. Universities and colleges are one of the typical energy consumers in this region, which are insufficient in research. Over all the campus buildings, research building occupies a large part in total campus energy use, and hence becomes the main retrofit objects. Research buildings have complicated functions of offices, scientific research and laboratories, and space heating and cooling behaviors have their own characteristics, which have the large effect on space heating and cooling use. However, there is little knowledge about adaptive thermal comfort and corresponding heating and conditioning energy-use behaviors. In view of this, in this paper, a typical research building located in Hangzhou was chosen and the measurements on indoor thermal environment heating and cooling behaviors, fenestration and energy consumption were carried out during July 2016 to October 2017. By the analysis on field investigation, delivered questionnaires and measured data, the typical space heating and cooling behaviors, fenestration and thermal environment are analyzed. On this base, energy efficiency optimization strategies in terms of building envelope thermal performance, sun shading, and adaptive space heating and cooling behavior are explored by the simulation. The study provides the technic support for energy saving retrofitting of campus buildings in this region.

Abstract:According to the climate characteristics in Hot Summer and Cold Winter (HSCW) zone, this study summarizes the special strategies for retrofitting the Existing Residential Buildings (ERB) in four aspects: envelop reformation, external environment improvement, energy saving behavior and renewable energy utilization. Then this study constructs the evaluation system frame of energy saving effect through 3 factors which are architecture design, construction and economic investment to comprehensively assess the practical effect of transforming. This research chooses a classical residential building in Huzhou as a case study and adopts the technologies to rebuild and uses the above evaluation system to figure out the most suitable reforming project. We hope our study about the reconstruction technologies and evaluation system can give some reference to renovation of existing residential buildings in other regions in China.
Anti-insulation Behavior for Exterior Wall External Insulation on Residential Buildings in Hot Summer and Cold Winter Zone

Abstract:The EnergyPlus simulation software was employed to analyze the energy saving effect of exterior wall external insulation in residential building of the hot summer and cold winter zone . Hangzhou was taken for an example to address the problem of the discrepancy between the actual air conditioning (AC) working conditions and design conditions in standards for residential building energy efficiency in this region .Results show that under the standard way of continuous AC operation method ,exterior insulation has good energy saving effect ;however ,under intermittent AC operation method ,external insulation can increase the annual cooling load .Based on daily meteorological data from 1971 to 2000 , the five days moving average method was adopted to obtain the recommended value of heating and cooling period ,which is more accordant with the actual situation of Hangzhou .After using the new heating and cooling period , the influence of anti-insulation behavior for exterior insulation on annual energy consumption is more significant ;the annual energy saving rate significantly reduced . Further research shows that for the window to wall ratio (WWR) and cooling set temperature ,there are a series of critical value for anti-insulation behavior in summer cooling (0 .3 for WWR and 26 ℃ for cooling set temperature) .When WWR and cooling set temperature are lower than the critical value ,external insulation saves energy ;when WWR and cooling set temperature are higher than the critical value ,total energy consumption increases .

Abstract:According to the climate features and the energy consumption characteristics of public buildings in the hot summer and cold winter regions,in order to reduce the energy consumption for air-conditioning and lighting systems some energy saving schemes are designed.Since the energy consumption of air-conditioning system is the most important part in total building energy consumption,the energy saving methods for building envelope,which is closely related to the energy consumption of air-conditioning system,including the design of outer wall,forms,and exterior shadings are emphatically analyzed;the heat recovery technology of new air system is briefly described;and a scheme with LED technology instead of existing energy-saving lamps is proposed.The results of energy consumption analysis after renovation show that the proposed energy saving schemes have high pertinence and tremendous promotion action on the energy saving of the public buildings in hot summer and cold winter regions,which further stress the importance of energy saving idea.

Abstract:A hospital building features a number of different functional areas. The equipment and systems that serve the building and its medical needs are complex and require various forms of energy, including electricity, gas, steam, hot water and chilled water. Domestic and foreign research data show that the energy consumption per unit area of hospital buildings is twice that of general public buildings. This article selects a typical comprehensive hospital in the hot summer and cold winter area as a case, analyzes the actual energy demand of the hospital building through the measured data, and puts forward reasonable suggestions on the energy consumption mode and system improvement plan of the hospital in combination with the operating conditions.

Abstract:With EnergyPlus,the simulation model of new energy-efficient apartment and traditional apartment were built to analyse air conditioning load and annual power consumption of the two apartments,and the energy saving effect of heat recovery ventilation(HRV).Simulation results showed that,in climate condition of Shanghai(hot summer and cold winter zone),the air conditioning load of new energy-efficient apartment with insulation building envelope was much lower than that of traditional apartment.Compared with traditional apartment,the annual power consumption of new energy-efficient apartment was reduced by 16.3%.And compared with normal ventilation,the annual energy saving rate by HRV was 16.2%,while more energy was saved during winter than summer.

Abstract:Along with the rapid urbanization and economic growth of China over the past decades, the thermal comfort needs of the people in this region have risen dramatically, and at the same time, promoting building energy efficiency is cited as part of the major projects in the 14th five-year plan for energy efficiency improvement. In addition, the outbreak of the COVID-19 epidemic has plunged people into long-term panic, and promoted the entire construction industry to think about a healthier and more sustainable living environment. To respond to the imbalance between energy supply and demand, an optimization analysis based on energy use is developed, assessing the energy efficiency of the window-to-wall ratio (WWR) design and calculating the energy consumption of three different types of residential buildings for both cooling and heating loads as well as for year-round loads. Owing to its harsh climate and huge energy consumption, in this study, the Hot-summer and Cold-winter (HSCW) zone of China was chosen as the experimental setting for the optimization analysis of WWR. Then, in the three main types of residential buildings, including detached houses, multi-story dwellings and high-rise dwellings, a correlation between WWRS and energy consumption in the cooling season, heating season and year-round was built. The comparisons between the WWRS and energy consumption for different types of residential buildings are presented. The design optimization recommendation for WWRS are proposed. It has significant positive meanings for the development of green and sustainably designed residential buildings that offer high levels of thermal comfort and energy efficiency.

HVAC system is an important system of civil buildings, and its design level will have a direct impact on the internal air environment and comfort of buildings. The power consumption of HVAC system is very obvious. Under the sustainable development strategy, effective energy-saving design must be adopted to solve the problem of high power consumption. Based on the principle of save energy & cut emissions, this paper aims to provide users with a comfortable and healthy environment. Through the use of renewable resources and clean energy, combined with the shortcomings of the current air-conditioning energy-saving design and design standards, it proposes new energy-saving technologies to optimize heating and cooling. Energy-saving design strategies of ventilation and air-conditioning, increasing the promotion of energy-saving HVAC, etc., hope to contribute to the progress and development of energy-saving design of HVAC in civil buildings.
