Abstract:OBJECTIVE: To study the ultrastructure of digestive organs, blood vessels, neural system, mucous membranes by means of electron microscope, so as to investigate the application of electron microscope in animals' digestive organs.DATA SOURCES: Chinese articles about the application of electron microscope in the ultrastructure of animals' digestive organs published between 1995 and 2005 were retrieved manually in the library of Jilin Medical College by using the of "electron microscope, digestive organs, blood vessels, nerve, mucous membranes, ultrastructure" in Chinese. STUDY SELECTION: The data were checked firstly, animal experiments were selected, and then the full-texts were looked through, and the involved contents were that the ultrastructures of digestive organs, blood vessels, neural system and mucous membranes, structure of inner wall mucous membranes, microvascular ultrastructure, ultrastructure of lymphatie vessels, ultrastructure of nerves and cellular structure infected by virus. Reviews and repetitive studies were excluded.DATA EXTRACTION: Totally 9 relevant journals were looked over, and 31 accorded articles were collected, including 14 correlated with the ultrastructures of digestive organs, blood vessels, neural system and mucous membranes, 5 correlated with the ultrastructure of lymphatie vessels, 4 about the microvascular ultrastructure, 2 about ultrastructure of nerves and 6 about the structure of inner wall mucous membranes.DATA SYNTHESIS: With the improvement of the resolving power and resolution of electron microscope, the studies of animal's digestive organs have developed from simple anatomic observation to the ultrastructural observation. Some digestive function of cells were observed in the cellular ultrastructural studies, indicating that the structure of digestive tract's mucous membrane developed from simple to complicated during the evolution of animal from water to earth. CONCLUSION: The investigative outcomes by ultrastructure have provide important evidence and scientific methods for the studies of histological anatomy, physiology and pathology, it will provide morphological, histological anatomical and taxological evidences for relevant studies in the future.
