Abstract:We formalize the notion of matrix coefficients for distributional vectors in a representation of a real reductive group, which consist of generalized functions on the group. As an application, we state and prove a Gelfand–Kazhdan criterion for a real reductive group in very general settings.

Abstract:Let G be a real reductive group, and let chi be a character of a reductive subgroup H of G. We construct chi-invariant linear functionals on certain cohomologically induced representations of G, and we show that these linear functionals do not vanish on the bottom layers. Applying this construction, we prove two Archimedean nonvanishing hypotheses which are vital to the arithmetic study of special values of certain L-functions via modular symbols.

Abstract: We prove Kazhdan's orthogonality conjecture for every real reductive group $G$ in Harish-Chandra's class, namely, the Euler-Poincar\'{e} pairing of two Harish-Chandra modules of $G$ agrees with the elliptic pairing of their corresponding global characters.

Abstract:Let G be a semisimple Lie group with a Cartan decomposition G = K exp($\mathfrak{p}$). For every finite-dimensional representation of G, there is an inner product on the representation space such that with respect to it, K acts as unitary operators, and exp($\mathfrak{p}$) acts as positive definite Hermitian operators. In this paper, we observe that similar phenomena appear for infinite-dimensional representations with real infinitesimal characters.

Abstract:Let G be a real reductive group with an involution σ on it. Let H be an open subgroup of Gσ with a character χ on it. Associated to a “theta stable”, “σ-split” parabolic subalgebra, and using the Zuckerman functor, we construct representations of G together with χ-equivariant linear functionals on them. We apply this construction to prove a non-vanishing hypothesis of H. Grobner and A. Raghuram in the study of algebraicity of critical L-values.
On Representations of Real Jacobi Groups

Abstract:We consider a category of continuous Hilbert space representations and a category of smooth Frechet representations, of a real Jacobi group $G$. By Mackey's theory, they are respectively equivalent to certain categories of representations of a real reductive group $\widetilde L$. Within these categories, we show that the two functors of taking smooth vectors for $G$, and for $\widetilde L$, are consistent with each other. By using Casselman-Wallach's theory of smooth representations of real reductive groups, we define matrix coefficients for distributional vectors of certain representations of $G$. We also formulate Gelfand-Kazhdan criteria for Jacobi groups which could be used to prove the multiplicity one theorem for Fourier-Jacobi models.
The Enough G-Pairs Property and Denominator Vectors of Cluster Algebras

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce the enough g-pairs property for principal coefficients cluster algebras, which can be understood as a strong version of the sign-coherence of the G-matrices. Then we prove that any skew-symmetrizable principal coefficients cluster algebra has the enough g-pairs property. As applications, we prove some long standing conjectures in cluster algebras, including a conjecture on denominator vectors and a conjecture on exchange graphs (see Conjectures 1, 2 below). In addition, we give a criterion to distinguish whether particular cluster variables belong to one common cluster for any skew-symmetrizable cluster algebra. As a corollary, we prove a conclusion which was conjectured by Fomin et al., cf. (Acta Math 201(1):83–146, 2008, Conjecture 5.5).

Abstract:In this article, by studying the Bernstein degrees and Goldie rank polynomials, we establish a comparison between the irreducible representations of G = GL n （C） possessing the minimal Gelfand-Kirillov dimension and those induced from finite-dimensional representations of the maximal parabolic subgroup of G of type（n-1, 1）. We give the transition matrix between the two bases for the corresponding coherent families.

Abstract:We discuss the Gelfand-Kazhdan criterion for covering groups with abelian covering tori and also investigate several aspects of the local coefficients matrix for genuine principal series representations of coverings of SL2. The goal is to carry out some preliminary study on some invariants attached to the local coefficients matrix, with a view toward a theory of gamma-factors and L-functions for genuine representations of covering groups.
Regularity of matrix coefficients of a compact symmetric pair of Lie groups

Abstract:We consider symmetric Gelfand pairs $(G,K)$ where $G$ is a compact Lie group and $K$ a subgroup of fixed point of an involutive automorphism. We study the regularity of $K$-bi-invariant matrix coefficients of $G$. The results rely on the analysis of the spherical functions of the Gelfand pair $(G,K)$. When the symmetric space $G/K$ is of rank $1$ or isomorphic to a Lie group, we find the optimal regularity of $K$-bi-invariant matrix coefficients. Furthermore, in rank $1$ we also show the optimal regularity of $K$-bi-invariant Herz-Schur multipliers of $S_p(L^2(G))$. We also give a lower bound for the optimal regularity in some families of higher rank symmetric spaces. From these results, we make a conjecture in the general case involving the root system of the symmetric space. Finally, we prove that if all $K$-bi-invariant matrix coefficients of $G$ have the same regularity, then so do all $K$-finite matrix coefficients.

Abstract:We prove a generalization of Harish-Chandra's character orthogonality relations for discrete series to arbitrary admissible representations for real reductive Lie groups. This result is an analogue of a conjecture by Kazhdan for p-adic reductive groups proved by Bezrukavnikov and by Schneider and Stuhler.
Special unipotent representations of real classical groups: counting and reduction

Abstract: Let $G$ be a real reductive group in Harish-Chandra's class. We derive some consequences of theory of coherent continuation representations to the counting of irreducible representations of $G$ with a given infinitesimal character and a given bound of the complex associated variety. When $G$ is a real classical group (including the real metaplectic group), we investigate the set of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$, in the sense of Arthur and Barbasch-Vogan. Here $\check{\mathcal O}$ is a nilpotent adjoint orbit in the Langlands dual of $G$ (or the metaplectic dual of $G$ when $G$ is a real metaplectic group). We give a precise count for the number of special unipotent representations of $G$ attached to $\check{ \mathcal O}$. We also reduce the problem of constructing special unipotent representations attached to $\check{\mathcal O}$ to the case when $\check{\mathcal O}$ is analytically even (equivalently for a real classical group, has good parity in the sense of M{\oe}glin). The paper is the first in a series of two papers on the classification of special unipotent representations of real classical groups.
A Conjecture on C-matrices of Cluster Algebras

Abstract:For a skew-symmetrizable cluster algebra ${\mathcal{A}}_{t_{0}}$ with principal coefficients at $t_{0}$, we prove that each seed $\unicode[STIX]{x1D6F4}_{t}$ of ${\mathcal{A}}_{t_{0}}$ is uniquely determined by its $C$-matrix, which was proposed by Fomin and Zelevinsky (Compos. Math. 143 (2007), 112–164) as a conjecture. Our proof is based on the fact that the positivity of cluster variables and sign coherence of $c$-vectors hold for ${\mathcal{A}}_{t_{0}}$, which was actually verified in Gross et al. (Canonical bases for cluster algebras, J. Amer. Math. Soc. 31(2) (2018), 497–608). Further discussion is provided in the sign-skew-symmetric case so as to obtain a weak version of the conjecture in this general case.

Abstract:Using the unfolding method given in Huang and Li (Adv. Math. 340 , 221–283 2018 ), we prove the conjectures on sign-coherence and a recurrence formula respectively of g -vectors for acyclic sign-skew-symmetric cluster algebras. As a (following) consequence, the conjecture is affirmed in the same case which states that the g -vectors of any cluster form a basis of ℤ^n . Also, the additive categorification of an acyclic sign-skew-symmetric cluster algebra 𝒜(Σ) is given, which is realized as (𝒞^Q,Γ) for a Frobenius 2-Calabi-Yau category 𝒞^Q constructed from an unfolding ( Q ,Γ) of the acyclic exchange matrix B of 𝒜(Σ) .
Regularity of K-finite matrix coefficients of semisimple Lie groups

Abstract:We consider $G$ a semisimple Lie group with finite center and $K$ a maximal compact subgroup of $G$. We study the regularity of $K$-finite matrix coefficients of unitary representations of $G$. More precisely, we find the optimal value $\kappa(G)$ such that all such coefficients are $\kappa(G)$-Hölder continuous. The proof relies on analysis of spherical functions of the symmetric Gelfand pair $(G,K)$, using stationary phase estimates from Duistermaat, Kolk and Varadarajan. If $U$ is a compact form of $G$, then $(U,K)$ is a compact symmetric pair. Using the same tools, we study the regularity of $K$-finite coefficients of unitary representations of $U$, improving on previous results obtained by the author.

On Kazhdan-Yom Din asymptotic Schur orthogonality for K-finite matrix coefficients

Abstract:In a recent article, D. Kazhdan and A. Yom Din conjectured the validity of an asymptotic form of Schur's orthogonality for tempered irreducible unitary representations of semisimple groups defined over local fields. In the non-Archimedean case, they established such an orthogonality for $K$-finite matrix coefficients. Building on their work, and exploiting the admissibility of irreducible unitary representations, we prove the analogous result in the Archimedean case.

Abstract:L. Klebanov proved the following theorem. Let $\xi_1, \dots, \xi_n$ be independent random variables. Consider linear forms $L_1=a_1\xi_1+\cdots+a_n\xi_n,$ $L_2=b_1\xi_1+\cdots+b_n\xi_n,$ $L_3=c_1\xi_1+\cdots+c_n\xi_n,$ $L_4=d_1\xi_1+\cdots+d_n\xi_n,$ where the coefficients $a_j, b_j, c_j, d_j$ are real numbers. If the random vectors $(L_1,L_2)$ and $(L_3,L_4)$ are identically distributed, then all $\xi_i$ for which $a_id_j-b_ic_j\neq 0$ for all $j=\overline{1,n}$ are Gaussian random variables. The present article is devoted to an analog of the Klebanov theorem in the case when random variables take values in a locally compact Abelian group and the coefficients of the linear forms are integers.

The Gelfand-Tsetlin basis for irreducible representations of an infinite-dimensional general linear group

Abstract:We consider the problem of constructing a Gelfand--Tsetlin basis in irreducible representations of an infinite-dimensional general linear group. For a finite-dimensional irreducible representation of a general linear group, all elements of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis are parameterized by Gelfand--Tsetlin schemes. We extend this definition to infinite Gelfand--Tsetlin schemes, which in turn parameterize elements of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis of an irreducible representation of an infinite-dimensional complete linear group. Using the properties of colimits of representations with the highest weight, we present an explicit form of the Gelfand--Tsetlin basis.

Abstract:We consider an n n -fold Brylinski–Deligne cover of a reductive group over a p p -adic field. Since the space of Whittaker functionals of an irreducible genuine representation of such a cover is not one-dimensional, one can consider a local coefficients matrix arising from an intertwining operator, which is the natural analogue of the local coefficients in the linear case. In this paper, we concentrate on genuine principal series representations and establish some fundamental properties of such a local coefficients matrix, including the investigation of its arithmetic invariants. As a consequence, we prove a form of the Casselman–Shalika formula which could be viewed as a natural analogue for linear algebraic groups. We also investigate in some depth the behaviour of the local coefficients matrix with respect to the restriction of genuine principal series from covers of G L 2 GL_2 to S L 2 SL_2 . In particular, some further relations are unveiled between local coefficients matrices and gamma factors or metaplectic-gamma factors.

Abstract:We give a generalization of Gelfand's criterion on the commutativity of Hecke algebras for Gelfand pairs and multiplicity-free triples over algebraically closed fields of arbitrary characteristic. Using more lenient versions of projectivity and injectivity for modules, we prove a general multiplicity-freeness theorem for finitely-generated modules with commutative endomorphism rings. For representations of finite and profinite groups, Gelfand pairs over the complex numbers are therefore also Gelfand pairs over the algebraic closure of any finite field. Applications include the uniqueness of Whittaker models of modular Gelfand-Graev representations and the uniqueness of modular trilinear forms on irreducible representations of quaternion division algebras over local fields.
