Abstract:We study the local structure of Lie bialgebroids at regular points. In particular, we classify all transitive Lie bialgebroids. In special cases, they are connected to classical dynamical r -matrices and matched pairs induced by Poisson group actions.

Differential Geometry and its Applications

Abstract:We prove that, for any transitive Lie bialgebroid (A, A∗), the differential associated to the Lie algebroid structure on A∗ has the form d∗=[Λ,⋅]A+Ω, where Λ is a section of ∧2A and Ω is a Lie algebroid 1-cocycle for the adjoint representation of A. Globally, for any transitive Poisson groupoid (Γ,Π), the Poisson structure has the form Π=Λ←−Λ→+ΠF, where ΠF is a bivector field on Γ associated to a Lie groupoid 1-cocycle.

Abstract:The PostLie algebra is an enriched structure of the Lie algebra that has recently arisen from operadic study. It is closely related to pre-Lie algebra, Rota-Baxter algebra, dendriform trialgebra, modified classical Yang-Baxter equations and integrable systems. We give a complete classification of PostLie algebra structures on the Lie algebra sl(2,C) up to isomorphism. We first reduce the classification problem to solving an equation of 3 x 3 matrices. To solve the latter problem, we make use of the classification of complex symmetric matrices up to the congruent action of orthogonal groups.
Local recognition of the point graphs of some Lie incidence geometries

Abstract:Given a finite Lie incidence geometry which is either a polar space of rank at least $3$ or a strong parapolar space of symplectic rank at least $4$ and diameter at most $4$, or the parapolar space arising from the line Grassmannian of a projective space of dimension at least $4$, we show that its point graph is determined by its local structure. This follows from a more general result which classifies graphs whose local structure can vary over all local structures of the point graphs of the aforementioned geometries. In particular, this characterises the strongly regular graphs arising from the line Grassmannian of a finite projective space, from the half spin geometry related to the quadric $Q^+(10,q)$ and from the exceptional group of type $\mathsf{E_6}(q)$ by their local structure.

Abstract:Groupoids provide a more appropriate framework for differential geometry than principal bundles. Synthetic differential geometry is the avant-garde branch of differential geometry, in which nilpotent infinitesimals are available in abundance. The principal objective in this paper is to show within our favorite framework of synthetic differential geometry that the tangent space of the group of bisections of a microlinear groupoid at its identity is naturally a Lie algebra. We give essentially distinct two proofs for its Jacobi identity.

Abstract:We show that every source connected Lie groupoid always has global bisections through any given point. This bisection can be chosen to be the multiplication of some exponentials as close as possible to a prescribed curve. The existence of bisections through more than one prescribed point is also discussed. We give some interesting applications of these results.

Abstract:For a transitive Lie algebroid A on a connected manifold M and its a representation on a vector bundle F, we study the localization map Y^1: H^1(A,F)-> H^1(L_x,F_x), where L_x is the adjoint algebra at x in M. The main result in this paper is that: Ker Y^1_x=Ker(p^{1*})=H^1_{deR}(M,F_0). Here p^{1*} is the lift of H^1(\huaA,F) to its counterpart over the universal covering space of M and H^1_{deR}(M,F_0) is the F_0=H^0(L,F)-coefficient deRham cohomology. We apply these results to study the associated vector bundles to principal fiber bundles and the structure of transitive Lie bialgebroids.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to establish a connection between various objects such as dynamical r-matrices, Lie bialgebroids, and Lagrangian subalgebras. Our method relies on the theory of Dirac structures and Courant algebroids. In particular, we give a new method of classifying dynamical r-matrices of simple Lie algebras g, and prove that dynamical r-matrices are in one-one correspondence with certain Lagrangian subalgebras of g circle plus g.

Abstract:This paper extends the well-known fact that a Rota-Baxter operator of weight 0 on a Lie algebra induces a pre-Lie algebra, to the level of bialgebras. We first show that a nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form that is invariant on a Rota-Baxter Lie algebra of weight 0 gives such a form that is left-invariant on the induced pre-Lie algebra and thereby gives a special L-dendriform algebra. This fact is obtained as a special case of Rota-Baxter Lie algebras with an adjoint-admissible condition, for a representation of the Lie algebra to admit a representation of the Rota-Baxter Lie algebra on the dual space. This condition can also be naturally formulated for Manin triples of Rota-Baxter Lie algebras, which can in turn be characterized in terms of bialgebras, thereby extending the Manin triple approach to Lie bialgebras. In the case of weight 0, the resulting Rota-Baxter Lie bialgebras give rise to special L-dendriform bialgebras, lifting the aforementioned connection that a Rota-Baxter Lie algebra induces a pre-Lie algebra to the level of bialgebras. The relationship between these two classes of bialgebras is also studied in terms of the coboundary cases, classical Yang-Baxter equations and -operators.

Abstract:The main result of the paper is classification of topological Lie bialgebra structures on the Lie algebra , where is a finite-dimensional simple Lie algebra over an algebraically closed field F of characteristic 0. We introduce the notion of a topological Manin pair and present their classification by relating them to trace extensions of . Then we recall the classification of topological doubles of Lie bialgebra structures on and view it as a special case of the classification of Manin pairs. The classification of topological doubles states that up to an appropriate equivalence there are only three non-trivial doubles. It is proven that topological Lie bialgebra structures on are in bijection with certain Lagrangian Lie subalgebras of the corresponding doubles. We then attach algebro-geometric data to such Lagrangian subalgebras and, in this way, obtain a classification of all topological Lie bialgebra structures with non-trivial doubles. For the classification becomes explicit. Furthermore, this result enables us to classify formal solutions of the classical Yang–Baxter equation.

Abstract:The notion of a generalized Lie bialgebroid (a generalization of the notion of a Lie bialgebroid) is introduced in such a way that a Jacobi manifold has associated a canonical generalized Lie bialgebroid. As a kind of converse, we prove that a Jacobi structure can be defined on the base space of a generalized Lie bialgebroid. We also show that it is possible to construct a Lie bialgebroid from a generalized Lie bialgebroid and, as a consequence, we deduce a duality theorem. Finally, some special classes of generalized Lie bialgebroids are considered: triangular generalized Lie bialgebroids and generalized Lie bialgebras.

Abstract:In his study of Dirac structures, a notion which includes both Poisson structures and closed 2-forms, T. Courant introduced a bracket on the direct sum of vector fields and 1-forms. This bracket does not satisfy the Jacobi identity except on certain subspaces. In this paper we systematize the properties of this bracket in the definition of a Courant algebroid. This structure on a vector bundle E --> M, consists of an antisymmetric bracket on the sections of E whose "Jacobi anomaly" has an explicit expression in terms of a bundle map E --> TM and a field of symmetric bilinear forms on E. When M is a point, the definition reduces to that of a Lie algebra carrying an invariant nondegenerate symmetric bilinear form. For any Lie bialgebroid (A, A*) over M (a notion defined by Mackenzie and Xu), there is a natural Courant algebroid structure on A + A* which is the Drinfel'd double of a Lie bialgebra when M is a point. Conversely, if A and A* are complementary isotropic subbundles of a Courant algebroid E, closed under the bracket (such a bundle, with dimension half that of E, is called a Dirac structure), there is a natural Lie bialgebroid structure on (A, A*) whose double is isomorphic to E. The theory of Manin triples is thereby extended from Lie algebras to Lie algebroids. Our work gives a new approach to bihamiltonian structures and a new way of combining two Poisson structures to obtain a third one. We also take some tentative steps toward generalizing Drinfel'd's theory of Poisson homogeneous spaces from groups to groupoids.

Abstract:In this paper we generalize the main notions from the geometry of (almost) contact manifolds in the category of Lie algebroids. Also, using the framework of generalized geometry, we obtain an (almost) contact Riemannian Lie algebroid structure on a vertical Liouville distribution over the big-tangent manifold of a Riemannain manifold.
