Abstract:Objective To investigate the knowledge and attitude towards AIDS among policemen from a female prison,and to probe the relevant influencing factors.Methods An anonymous questionnaire survey was conducted and the questionnaires were filled in by the surveyed policemen. Results The correct answer rate of the knowledge about AIDS ranged from 64.5% to 100.0% among the policemen.About 70% considered the propaganda on the use of condoms wasn't enough.The discrimination against HIV-carriers was still serious.1/4 believed the HIV-carriers should be made known to protect other people.The proportions of those who would not like to work with the families of the HIV-positive and those who would find ways to transfer the HIV-carriers from their supervision were 1/4 respectively.Around 40% of the surveyed policemen expressed that they wouldn't like to work with the HIV-carriers.Conclusion The education programs about HIV among the policemen is effective in the recent years.More attention should still be paid to the information about non-transmitting route.
