Abstract:In connection with the design of Single Plane hard bearing dynamic balancing measurement ma-chine, a series of theoretical analysis was done, including the dynamics analysis of the machine, analyzing the factors influencing permanent calibration error and presenting a stiffness principle of spring board, sensor and preloaded spring. After this, the experiments of testing and minimum achievable residual unbalance are done with a prototype designed by the design scheme. The result demonstrates that the prototype has high measurement precision.

Abstract:Brake valve springs, such as 104 and F8 valve springs, are essential components in a braking system of a passenger train. Their maintenance quality has a direct impact on the vehicle operation security. In this paper, a new kind of testing system was developed for springs used in brake valves. This system overcame several shortcomings of existing ones and could meet the requirements of new standard. Firstly, technical specifications and overall design of this system were put forward on the basis of current passenger train maintenance standard. Secondly, its control system consisting of a microcontroller and a CPLD chip as the master controller, as well as its peripheral hardware circuit were designed. Then, a stepper motor is used to achieve accurate measurement of the spring parameters, including free height, assembly load and work load. After that, a computer software was coded by using VC++ platform. Finally, the relationship between the force loaded onto the weighting sensor and its corresponding deformation was obtained. Based on this relationship, the error caused by the deformation during the load measurement was compensated, and the performance specifications of the testing system were also verified.
Optimization design of elastic bearing mechanism with cross leaf spring

Abstract:First of all this paper established a mathematical model of the key parts of a contact typed step measuring instrument a lever mechanism with cross leaf spring support —— and carried on a preliminary design of this mechanism. The stress finite dement analysis of straight leaf spring shows that the stress distribution of this structure is quite uneven. The designing parameters of varying sectioned leaf spring was obtained by means of optimal design of leaf spring parameters. Under the action of 0.2N external loading, a simulation experiment was carried out respectively on varying sectioned leaf spring by adopting the Algor finite dement software. The testing results show that the ratio of maximum stress and minimum stress was reduced to 7.7 from 31.4 of the straight leaf spring. The torsional stiffness was 0.06 N/m and its changing rate of measuring force was 36.6 N/m, thus the mechanic properties of this mechanism was improved to a great extent.

Abstract:The longitudinal drawbar and the lateral stabilizer bar of straddle-type monorail vehicle with the single-axle bogies have relatively long structure size. The multibar system leads to deformation during the driving process due to impact loads, even leads to influence on the dynamic characteristic of the hauling mechanism as well as the riding comfort of the whole vehicle. To evaluate the dynamic behavior of straddle-type monorail vehicle with single-axle bogies accurately, a full-scale rigid-flexible coupling multibody dynamics method is proposed based on multibody dynamics and finite element (FE) theory. The modal synthesis method is adopted to establish flexible multibody dynamics of the single-axle bogies. And then rigid-flexible coupling dynamic model of the straddle-type monorail vehicle is established with the ADAMS software. The validity of the full-scale model is verified. Finally, the influences of vehicle velocity, passenger mass, curve radius and the number of axles on dynamic characteristics are discussed.

Abstract:A kind of spring energy accumulation typed stretchable mechanism used in aerobat was designed.According to its special working environment and technical parameters,the special stretchable mechanism that possesses properties of spring driving,mechanical joint moving and elastic locking was determined.Optimization design was carried out on the rigidity coefficient of its key component——torsional spring by means of ADAMS software.Test and analysis have been made on the developed principle prototype,and the function of the stretchable mechanism was verified.

Abstract:Aims at making the stiffness measuring instrument which is newly manufactured well used in high-accuracy stiffness measuring of spring-tube of electro-hydraulic.Based on the analysis of stress deformation in traditional stiffness measuring of spring-tube,in which the weights are manually hanged to exert force and the deformation is observed by microscope,the relational expression between moment-angular stiffness of spring-tube as well as the relational expression of linear displacement observed by microscope is deduced.Then several spring-tubes are selected for the comparative experiment of two measuring methods.The experimental data is analyzed and compared with the theoretical formula to modify the expression,so the correction coefficient of transformation between two measuring methods and the corresponding expression are presented,which can be used in practical producing.Hereby,the old stiffness measuring method of spring-tube can be transformed to new stiffness measuring method by use of stiffness measuring instrument.

Abstract:By employing the modal synthesis technique,a rigid-flexible multi-body dynamics model for 4100QB diesel engine was built in the ADAMS software.By comparing the simulation results under different main bearing load,the effect of the coupling flange,the mounting stiffness and the elasticity of shaft coupling on main bearing load were discussed.The results show that the coupling flange and engine connecting method play an important role in main bearing load calculation;under the condition of flexible connection,the difference of main bearing load caused by the change of mounting stiffness is very small and it can be ignored when the accuracy is not strictly demanded;the influence of elastic shaft coupling on bearing load can be ignored in main bearing load simulated.The simulated result was validated by measuring vibration acceleration.

Abstract:In improving the comfort of vehicles, air spring suspension has obvious advantages, but under the action of transient impact load, the damping effect of air spring suspension is not ideal due to the hysteresis phenomenon of air spring stiffness regulation. In order to analyze the mechanism of the above problems, the dynamic mathematical model and simulation model of air spring suspension are established. And the nonlinear characteristic of the elastic characteristics of the suspension is expounded theoretically. The simulation results show that the stiffness of the air spring increases with the increase of the transient impact load, and the peak value of the transfer function increases and moves to high frequency near the natural frequency of the body. And the peak value and the peak frequency of the transfer function only change slightly near the natural frequency of the wheel. There are bifurcations and secondary shocks at the wave crest of the acceleration curve under impact loads of 30 mm and 50 mm. The type of research can provide theoretical basis and reference for the design, analysis and optimization of air suspension.

Abstract:In order to solve the problem that the low speed and driving fatigue of mine trucks caused by its poor buffer and damping of the suspension, the hydro-pneumatic independent suspension is adopted instead of the traditional leaf spring dependent suspension for the mine truck in this paper. On this basis, the mathematical model of the hydro-pneumatic spring is established; subsequently the kinetic models of the suspension are built in MATLAB/Simulink; then the comfort tests of the suspension for the leaf spring and hydro-pneumatic spring successively; The results show that the hydro-pneumatic spring can improve the comfort of the mine truck compared to the leaf spring, consequently enhances the truck speed and alleviates the driving fatigue.

Abstract:The multi-methods to calculate the stiffness of leaf springs are discussed.Using the line contact element provided by Nastran software to analyze the stiffness of a leaf spring.In addition,the influence of the friction characteristics on the stiffness is also involved.The load-deflection curves during loading and unloading process subjected to static and dynamic loads are presented.Compared with conventional method, the results of FEA are reasonable and FEA can provide more details of contact and friction between leafs. The method and conclusion in this paper can be used for the design and analysis of the similar products.

Abstract:Contact deformation between head of spring and hole of chucking affects the accuracy in stiffness measurement of spring. The contact model and error analysis model are established based on Hertzian contact theory. Firstly, the measurement principle of spring and the stress analysis in measurement process are discussed. Secondly, the contact force caused by measurement force is simplified to be symmetrically distributed along the contact line, and the contact model is built. Lastly, the quantized relationship between the measurement error and the contact deformation is given. Theoretical analysis and experiment show that deformation directly reduces the measurement accuracy and increases the non-repeated error of the measurement.

Abstract:In order to adapt to complex and changeable mechanical conditions and make the deformable mechanisms perform well statically and dynamically, variable stiffness joints have been studied extensively. The variable stiffness actuator is the key driving component to adjust stiffness of the joint. By inserting flexible elements between the driving and driven ends of rigid motion, the variable stiffness actuator makes the joint move precisely and allows humans to interact with machines safely. At present, many kinds of variable stiffness actuators have been applied, among which the way of changing the length of the force arm of leaf springs has obvious advantages. However, overall configuration design, accurate stiffness model, mechanical characteristics and safety analysis have not been studied in depth. This paper investigates a variable stiffness actuator based on leaf spring by design, model and mechanical analysis. The composition and configuration of the actuator is analyzed and optimized. Using the deflection theory of the beam, a new rotational stiffness model of the actuator is established, and a safe position criterion is set up upon the deformation constraint conditions. The variation law of stiffness and the influence of parameters on mechanical characteristics are studied. The finite element analysis method verified the rotational stiffness model, and static test proved that the actuator could effectively work in the joint.

Abstract:In this study,the rigid-flexible coupling and hydraulic system models are established for wheel loader mechanism using ADAMSTM.Based on three typical working conditions,the dynamic structure strength and system oil pressure are respectively tested.Bycomparing simulation results with testing data,it is proven that the hydraulic-mechanical coupling simulation is feasible.Moreover,the modeling and analysis method can be adapted to the design for similar hydraulic-mechanical coupling mechanisms.

Abstract:This paper analyzes stiffness characteristic of ideal suspension system and disadvantages of traditional rubber components.Furthermore,a mechanics model of assembled rubber suspension which can satisfy stiffness requirement is put forward in this paper.According to this mechanics model,the assembled rubber suspension is successfully designed which has variable stiffness characteristic in empty loading and full loading conditions.The test results show that this mechanics model has characteristic which can provide nonlinear and variable stiffness,and is particularly applicable to suspension system of heavy trucks.

Abstract:Based on the analyses on existing nonlinear models for hydraulic engine mounts and the effect of siphon loss coefficient of inertia track on the dynamic performance of engine mounts,a more accurate model is set up,which takes the siphon loss coefficient of inertia track into consideration.The corresponding test platform is built and the test and comparative analysis on the dynamic and static characteristics of hydraulic mount and its rubber spring are performed.The discrepancy between the results of simulation and testing is analyzed and the model is modified accordingly with the test data of rubber spring incorporated into the model.These make the simulation results better agree with that of testing.

Abstract:Based on a two-degree of freedom vehicle model, this paper investigates ride comfort for a heavy off-road vehicle mounted a nonlinear hydropneumatic spring, which is influenced by nonlinear stiffness and damping characteristics of the hydropneumatic spring. Especially, the damping force is derived by applying H. Blasius formula in modeling process according to the real physical structure of the hydropneumatic spring, and the established model of nonlinear stiffness characteristics have been validated by experiments. Furthermore, the effects of parameter variations of the hydropneumatic spring, such as initial charge pressure and damping coefficient, on body acceleration, suspension deflection and dynamic tire deflection are also investigated.

Engineering Failure Analysis

Abstract:The air spring bears complex multi-dimensional random load in the running of the vehicle, and its excellent performance plays a very important role in ensuring the safety and stability of the running of the rail vehicle and improving the comfort of the ride. Taking a certain type of air spring system capsule of Shanghai Metro as the research object, a composite rubber material failure and reliability analysis method based on the virtual joint simulation experimental platform of dynamics software, finite element simulation software and fatigue calculation software is proposed, considering the influence of the train load on track irregularity. The fatigue life assessment and internal damage mechanism analysis of the air spring system are realized by this virtual simulation technology, and reduce the dependence on the actual material test. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by comparing it with the actual failure of air springs. This method has an important reference value for the fatigue characteristics study of complex rubber parts with multi-physical field coupling characteristics. It can help urban rail vehicle maintenance units to more accurately understand the remaining service life of air springs, thus reducing safety hazards economic waste and other issues.
