Abstract:The article discusses the existing types of deliberate distortions of financial statements and methods for their detection. Cash flows from various activities are the basis that generates income for the enterprise, which always arouses interest from the inspection authorities. In the course of a forensic accounting examination, on the basis of a cash flow statement, one can most often observe a deliberate distortion of the numerical indicators of the report, caused by a dishonest attitude to their duties of the company's employees, or in connection with the appropriation of the organization's assets by interested parties. The article establishes the stages of conducting a forensic accounting examination of cash flows in the context of various operations. Theoretically and empirically, the control ratios of the cash flow statement with other forms of financial statements, their reconciliation and interconnection have been confirmed. On the basis of the study, a list of additional items to the cash flow statement was compiled, which makes it possible to facilitate the procedure for conducting a forensic accounting examination, and a report was developed for the receipt of funds of the enterprise in the context of contracts and counterparties. The article presents a comparative description of cash flow reports prepared for accounting and management purposes. Based on the analysis of the cash flow statement compiled for external use and the management needs of the enterprise, the main differences are highlighted, such as the goals of formation, methods of compilation, the purpose of the reflected information for users, the scale of the data presented and the degree of openness of the information shown in them. Taking into account the study of the above grouping, options have been developed to optimize the receipt of data based on the cash flow statement for the purpose of conducting a forensic accounting examination.
