Current Situation and Some Suggestion on Ecological Problems of Typical Cities in China

Abstract:In recent 20 years, with the rapid economic development and urbanization ecological problems have become more complex and serious. Nearly all large cities in East and Middle China are in haze in a long time, such as Beijing's hazy days being about 120 days a year, which mainly caused by coal smock pollution and tail gas from motor vehicles. Surface water, and coastal seawater are heavily eutrophic, ground water are heavily polluted. In water bodies, atmosphere, crops, animals, and even human bodies, organic pollution materials are large in quantity and kinds. The treatment rate of industrial and domestic waste, garbage and sewage are too low, directly drained into river, lake and sea, seriously deteriorating the function of regional ecosystem. Ground water are heavily over mined, causing ground subsidence forming large funnels' under some cities. The over sprawl of urban land endangers the safety of urban ecosystem. Water shortage and a low efficiency of water use constrains the sound development of cities. Traffic congestion are getting serious and heavily polluting the atmosphere and threatening the human health. Foods are heavily polluted, seriously influencing the quality of living. The ecological problems induced from urbanization mainly result from many reasons: such as, Polluting First and Controlling Second, Stressing on Economic Development and Looking down Ecological Protection and Construction, resources usage efficient low , shorting of urban ecological programming, urban ecological management mechanism imperfect, etc. So, it is suggested that regional ecological programming should be put and put in the first place in an urban planning, the development of a city group should accord with the support conditions of the regional ecosystem, the management on an urban ecosystem should be enhanced, and the insurance mechanism of the urban ecosystem should be set up.
