Abstract:To promote readers' reading properly, with the new media and the social reading platform users as the research object, the usage and the basic characteristics of the users were explored. Then, the use motivation, use attitude and use behavior of the social reading platform users were analyzed, and the relationship between the three was quantified. Based on the motivation demand theory, the use and gratification theory and the technology acceptance model, the literature analysis, in-depth interview, questionnaire survey and statistical analysis were adopted. The experiment results proved that the results obtained by the statistical analysis method were more objective. It is concluded that this study is intended to provide some reference for the development of the domestic social reading platform and to enrich the audience research in the communication of new media.

Abstract:At present, there are still some problems in reading promotion for college students, such as inadequate precision of the supporting theory, inaccurate orientation of the reading promotion target, and lack of cultural connotation. The concept of college-specific reading emphasizes that colleges shall make differentiated reading promotion activities according to the scope of disciplines, the level of management, colleges' mottos, their history, and the cities where the colleges are located. It considers macroscopically the need of reader groups in different types of colleges, and combines the ideas of "One College One Book" and "One City One Book" to further improve the fineness and accuracy of reading promotion to college students.

Abstract:University libraries use social networks to promote reading; however, there are challenges to increasing the use of these library platforms, such as poor promotion and low reader participation. Therefore, these libraries need to find ways of dealing with the behavior characteristics of social network readers. In this study, a simulation experiment was developed to explore the behaviors of readers seeking book reviews and opinions on social networks. The study draws on social network theory to find the causes of students’ behavior and how these affect their selection of information. Finally, it presents strategies for peer reading promotion in university libraries.

Abstract:Abstract With the rapid development of information technology and mobile Internet access, social media content has become extremely abundant and open, and users have become heavily dependent on social reading. As a result, users’ reading motivation has greatly changed from traditional reading to digital reading to social reading. Exploring the potential effects of social reading can contribute to providing strategies to accurately target high-quality reading content to help promote reading with social media. Drawing upon the use and gratifications theory and reading motivation scales, the current study examines the effectiveness of reading motivation to explore in depth the influencing mechanism of users’ reading on social media. Structural equation modeling is employed to empirically test the impact factor model. The results indicate that social media users’ reading motivation mainly includes entertainment, self-presentation, information acquisition, social promotion, and social interaction. Regarding the overall contribution, social motivation is the most important factor in social media reading activities, followed by intrinsic reading motivation and information reading motivation. The findings and their implications are discussed to provide suggestions for social media operators promoting high-quality reading.

Abstract:Reading English is required for high school students to gain language proficiency, enhance their cultural awareness, and broaden their global perspective. This study incorporates the theory of multimodal discourse analysis into English reading teaching for high school students based on the principles of social semiotics and systemic functional linguistics. The results indicate that utilizing multimodal discourse analysis theory in high school English reading enhances students' focus in class and boosts their English reading scores. Additionally, it facilitates their comprehension of text information and establishes a solid basis for developing multiple literacies. Abstract:Reading red classics is an important way of patriotism education in the new era. Guiding college students to read red classics is conducive to cultivating their red values and shaping their patriotic conduct. The development of intelligent media technology reshapes the way of thinking and behavior of college students, and also changes their reading methods to some extent. The progress of technology provides a new opportunity for the popularization of red classics. By analyzing the current situation of reading red classics among college students in the new situation, this paper sorts out the factors that affect reading promotion, including media space-time factors, content factors, scene factors and psychological factors. It is pointed out that the promotion of reading in colleges and universities needs to strengthen the construction of digital resources and brand of libraries, improve readers' digital literacy and ability, give full play to the role of reading promotion of red classics in colleges and universities, carry forward red culture and enhance the comprehensive quality of college students.

Abstract:Parent-child reading plays an important role in the development of children’s reading ability. From the perspective of sociocultural theory, the formation and development mechanism of parent-child reading community are studied, and cultural practice and identity transformation are considered as the core components. Parent-child reading promotion strategies in the U.K. and the U.S. are studied to explore the practical dimension construction of parent-child reading community. It is believed that strategies includes unified planning of stage and continuity, coordinated evolution of content and motivation dimension, efficient promotion of procedural rules, reducing parent-child identity transformation barriers, and avoiding the interruption of children’s reading ability development, which provides inspiration and experience for parent-child reading promotion in China.

Abstract:English has always been an essential part of junior high school curriculum. Improving students’ reading ability is not only the purpose of learning English for junior middle school students, but also an important means to acquire new knowledge. However, reading as one of the four basic skills required by the English course often keep students from getting high marks in the middle of the exam, although they took lots of time to read. This paper emphasizes the importance of English reading in junior middle school and analyzes the current situations and problems of students’ reading. It introduces the theories of reading and reading comprehension, discourse and discourse analysis, and the relationship between reading and discourse. The author puts forward some measures to improve the reading ability of students. There are many researches on discourse analysis about university, but the research is less involved in the secondary school, and the study of reading comprehension in junior middle school is even rarer. Therefore, the author thinks that it is very necessary to improve the discourse ability of junior high school students.

Abstract:Local digital documentation platforms refer to the online platforms that cater to the people’s needs of browsing through, reading and obtaining knowledge. Libraries create the platforms by collecting local literature, classics and related research results, among others, and then convert and process them with digital humanities technology, as assisted by the Internet dispatch system. As Internet technologies develop rapidly and local literature data grows exponentially, digital documentation platforms based on cloud computing, wireless transmission, sensor networks and reading terminals have become an important option for readers to obtain reading services. Local libraries should take full advantage of Internet technologies and contribute to the promotion of local reading and cultural development. This paper analyzed the current local digital documentation platforms and their reading promotion models. In combination with digital humanities technologies such as information statistics, data mining and semantic analysis, and drawing on Lasswell’s communication model, the author then explored the construction of and possible innovations in the reading promotion models for local digital platforms.
