Pretreatment of Textile Printing and Dyeing Wastewater with High Suspended Solids by Facultative Contact Oxidation Process

Abstract:The pretreatment of textile printing and dyeing wastewater with high suspended solids was conducted by a facultative contact process to determine its engineering feasibility. When the average influent COD,SS,HRT and DO were 956 mg/L,1 450 mg/L,10 h,and less than 0. 3 mg/L,respectively,the average removal rates of COD and SS were 54. 7% and 93. 7%,respectively. The process can tolerate high pH value and high organic load shocks,and is capable of reducing pH,degrading organic compounds,and decreasing sludge production.
