A Research Literature Review on the Debate about China-based Cultural Construction Since 1930S

Abstract:A paper entitled Declaration on China-based cultural construction by 10 professors during 1930s,triggered a debate toward the issue on Chinese culture,which still attracts constant attention of scholars until today. This paper is ready to do an elegant study of the research status since1930s. The research from 1930s to 1970s was not a systematic one,but scholars took the opportunity to express their own ideas on the East and West culture. In 1980s,particularly in the mainland academics,for this debate,in the unanimous recognition of its political,party of the background at the same time,researchers have already started to pay attention to the age and the social background of the controversy,from a non-political view. From 1990s to today,scholars have begun to transcend the ideological framework. By the introduction of a modern perspective,the significance of culture and modernization of this debate was begin to gradually highlight.
