Research on Social Planning in Foreign New Town Planning

Abstract:Because of the particular social structure and complex social problems of new towns, social planning has been an important process in foreign new town planning. In recent China, based on the intention of regional cooperation, new town planning and construction has become the key agenda in most metropolitan spatial development strategies. Thus the paper tries to give a brief introduction of the relative researches on social planning in foreign new town planning, so as to provide some helpful references and suggestions for the balance of social and economic development in new town planning in China.
