Study on Pre-oxidation Disinfection by Combination of Chloramine and PPC

Abstract:In order to reduce the plentiful disinfect by products and ensure drinking water's chemical safety.We looking for the more effective and the more safe methods to replace pre-oxidation by chlorine.This paper put more emphases on the study of controlling of the total count of bacteria and the total coliform group by the combination of PPC and chloramine and by either of them.The character of combination action was demonstrated by the mathematic method of Berenbaum.Results show that the combination disinfectant of PPC and chloramine is more effective than using either disinfectant alone.It can guarantee the drinking water's biologic safety and the chemical safety.So this method can be used to replace the method of pre-oxidation by chlorine.
