Abstract:The thermal relativistic one-loop and two-loop self-energy corrections of atomic energy-levels induced by the blackbody radiation(BBR) are studied. We estimated the magnitude of BBR-shift of this results in the hydrogen-like atom. The order of magnitude indicated the two loop correction of the real photon is feeble, but that thermal relativistic one-loop self-energy correction and the thermal two-loop self-energy corrections induced by real and virtual photon are abnormal high, which may exceed the leading order correction of BBR in the hydrogen with high $Z$ or low $T$.

Abstract:The next-to-leading order black-body radiation(BBR) shift to atomic energy-levels, namely $ (Z\alpha)^2\alpha T^2/m $ correction, was studied by using the nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics(NRQED). We also estimate the one-loop contribution of quadrupole and the two-loop contributions of BBR-shift of the thermal(real) photon. These corrections have not been investigated before. The order of magnitude BBR-shift indicates the one-loop contribution of quadrupole is stronger than the previous result. And the two-loop contribution of BBR-shift of the thermal(real) photon is tiny, but this next-to-leading order BBR-shift may be as significant as the leading order in the multi-electron atoms or cold ones.

Abstract:Einstein’s equation could be interpreted as the first law of thermodynamics near the spherically symmetric horizon. Through recalling the Einstein gravity with a more general static spherical symmetric metric, we find that the entropy would have a correction in Einstein gravity. By using this method, we investigate the Eddington-inspired Born-Infeld (EiBI) gravity. Without matter field, we can also derive the first law in EiBI gravity. With an electromagnetic field, as the field equations have a more general spherically symmetric solution in EiBI gravity, we find that correction of the entropy could be generalized to EiBI gravity. Furthermore, we point out that the Einstein gravity and EiBI gravity might be equivalent on the event horizon. At last, under EiBI gravity with the electromagnetic field, a specific corrected entropy of black hole is given.

Abstract:Introductory physics and astronomy courses commonly use Wien's displacement law to explain the colors of blackbodies, including the Sun and other stars, in terms of their temperatures. We argue here that focusing on the peak of the blackbody spectrum is misleading for three reasons. First, the Planck curve is too broad for an individual spectral color to stand out. Second, the location of the peak of the Planck curve depends on the choice of the independent variable in the plot. And third, Wien's displacement law is seldom used in actual practice to find a temperature and direct fitting to the Planck function is preferable. We discuss these flaws and argue that, at the introductory level, presentation of blackbody radiation in terms of photon statistics would be more effective pedagogically. The average energy of the emitted photons would then be presented in place of Wien's displacement law, and discussion of the Stefan-Boltzmann law would include the total number of photons emitted per second. Finally, we suggest that the Planck spectrum is most appropriately plotted as a "spectral energy density per fractional bandwidth distribution," using a logarithmic scale for the wavelength or frequency.

The solution makes use of the widely known and easily implemented Fourier transform, and the expression is very simple and clear. This method is of major significance with respect not only to the numerical computation, but also to uniqueness or existence of this problem. Abstract:The thermal balance between the black hole and surrounding thermal radiation is an interesting topic. The primordial black hole is a type of black hole formed in the early universe, especially during the thermal radiation period of the early universe. Driven by gravity, thermal radiation will collapse to form a black hole. Because of the complexity of the actual situation, we use the simplest model for simulation under the premise of only considering the thermodynamic properties of the system: in the classic case, an isolated box full of thermal radiation, by adjusting the initial temperature within a reasonable range, the results show that the collapse of part of the thermal radiation to form a black hole and finally achieve thermal equilibrium is an inevitable result of the second law of thermodynamics. We then introduced the quantization of black holes and the number of microscopic states of thermal radiation into the thermal equilibrium system and came to a surprising conclusion: if both the quantization of black holes and the number of microscopic states of thermal radiation are considered at the same time, the fluctuation of thermodynamics is inevitable. When only one of them is considered, the law of conservation of energy and the second law of thermodynamics can be satisfied at the same time, and the fluctuation of thermodynamics can be avoided. This provides a new way of thinking for us to understand the microscopic origin of thermodynamic fluctuations.

Abstract:Recently, Hawking radiation of the black hole was studied by tunnel effect method. It was found that the radiation spectrum of the black hole is not a strictly pure thermal spectrum. How the deviation between the radiation spectrum from pure thermal spectrum affect the entropy is a very interesting problem. In this paper, we calculate the partition function using the energy spectrum derived by tunnel effect, then obtain the entropy of the black hole. When we take first order approximation, the logarithmic term of entropy correction is consistent with the one considering the generalized uncertainty relation. However, in our calculation, there is no uncertain factor. And the coefficient of logarithmic correction term is the same one after considering the correction to the black hole entropy due to the thermal fluctuation. There are no divergent terms in our result when the thermal capacity of the black hole is negative. So our discussion has universality.

Abstract:In this paper, we modify the action of spin field in Kerr-Sen curved space-time through Lorentz invariance violation (LIV). The tunneling radiation rate of Fermion in the Kerr-Sen black hole and the correction of the black hole entropy are studied. In the curved space-time of the Kerr-Sen black hole, by considering the inclusion of LIV correction terms in the action of a spinor field, the modified form of the fermion dynamics equation, the tunneling radiation rate and Bekenstein-Hawking entropy of the black hole are obtained. In this paper, we further consider the modification of the results obtained under quantum perturbation theory and discuss the significance of the results obtained. We have used quantum perturbation theory to perform a more accurate correction of the above results.

Abstract:We correct a mistake in the analytical expression for the energy density given in Phys. Rev. C76, 021902 (2007) [arXiv:0704.3625 [hep-ph]]. The expression should be multiplied by 16. One question then arises; how could it be possible to explain this difference between the analytical and numerical results in the same model if both are correct? We find a subtle problem in the treatment of the randomness of the color source along the longitudinal direction and the treatment of the longitudinal extent of the color source.

Abstract:In this paper, we discuss leading-order corrections to the entropy of Kerr black hole due to thermal fluctuations in the finite cavity. Then temperature is constant, the solution of the black hole is obtained within a cavity, that is, the solution of the spacetime after considering the radiation of the black hole. Therefore, we derive that the location of the black hole horizon and specific heat are the functions of temperature and the radius of the cavity. Corrections to entropy also are related to the radius of the cavity. Through calculation, we obtain conditions of taking the value of the cavity's radius. We provide a new way for studying the corrections of complicated spacetimes.

Abstract:The radiation equilibrium temperature field in a gradient index semitransparent absorbing-emitting gray medium is analyzed. The medium is bounded by two semitransparent specular surfaces and possesses a refractive index varying spatially or dependent on temperature. By discretizing the medium into many sublayers and adopting a linear refractive index approximation for each sublayer, the curved ray tracing technique is developed to solve the radiation transfer in medium. The temperature field at radiation equilibrium is obtained based on the energy conservation. The influences of refractive index distribution and optical thickness on the temperature field as well as the coupled effect of temperature and refractive index are examined. The results display the significant influences of gradient index on radiation transfer and the temperature distribution.

Abstract:In the universality class of the critical point of QCD, the appearance of the inflection point in the equation of state (EoS) is associated with the second order phase transition. The high cumulants of conserved quantities near the critical point are corresponding to the high derivatives of the EoS near the inflection point. The critical behavior of high cumulants of conserved charge near the QCD critical point, in particular, the sign change, is closely related to the appearance of inflection point. We show in general how the times of sign change of high cumulants relate to the order of derivative. We also demonstrate that the character of inflection point of EoS is as visible as the sign change of high cumulants in 3 systems, i.e., the van der Waals equation of fluid, the energy of spin model and the baryon number density of QCD matter. Therefore, we propose that the EoS, or the mean of baryon number density, should be measured and studied together with its higher cumulants in exploring the QCD critical point in heavy ion collisions.

Abstract:In this paper, Wien’s displacement law as one of the most important laws of thermal radiation, for which Wien has won the Nobel Prize in Physics, is studied and derived from the perspective of phase transition by using catastrophe theory. This paper describes in detail how the control variable causes the phase transition of the system potential function and the main indexes for judging whether the phase transition occurs. By extending the control variable in the catastrophe theory affecting the thermal radiation into multi-parameters form, the function equilibrium curve of the blackbody radiation is solved, and then the two expressions of Wien’s displacement law including wavelength-temperature and wavelength-temperature are derived theoretically. Furthermore, a phase transition method is proposed to study the thermal radiation of blackbody. This not only provides a new perspective for the research of thermal radiation, but also provides a new idea for the study of other phase transitions.

Abstract:We point out that current textbooks of modern physics are a century out-of-date in their treatment of blackbody radiation within classical physics. Relativistic classical electrodynamics including classical electromagnetic zero-point radiation gives the Planck spectrum with zero-point radiation as the blackbody radiation spectrum. In contrast, nonrelativistic mechanics cannot support the idea of zero-point energy; therefore if nonrelativistic classical statistical mechanics or nonrelativistic mechanical scatterers are invoked for radiation equilibrium, one arrives at only the low-frequency Rayleigh-Jeans part of the spectrum which involves no zero-point energy, and does not include the high-frequency part of the spectrum involving relativistically-invariant classical zero-point radiation. Here we first discuss the correct understanding of blackbody radiation within relativistic classical physics, and then we review the historical treatment. Finally, we point out how the presence of Lorentz-invariant classical zero-point radiation and the use of relativistic particle interactions transform the previous historical arguments so as now to give the Planck spectrum including classical zero-point radiation. Within relativistic classical electromagnetic theory, Planck's constant h appears as the scale of source-free zero-point radiation.

Abstract:In this paper, taking into account a black hole solution of Finsler theory, we study the remnant and its phase transition close to the Planck scale. Based on the corrected Dirac equation, the quantum tunneling method is applied to derive a revised Hawking temperature-uncertainty relation. Further, with the generalized uncertainty principle(GUP), when the Finsler black hole reaches the Planck scale, the remnant after evaporation is calculated. Meanwhile, according to the phase transition and heat capacity, we analyze thermodynamic stability of the black hole remnant.

Abstract:We consider the modification of the formulas for black hole radiation, due to the self-gravitation of the radiation. This is done by truncating the coupled particle-hole system to a small set of modes, that are plausibly the most significant ones, and quantizing the reduced system. In this way we find that the particles no longer move along geodesics, nor is the action along the rays zero for a massless particle. The radiation is no longer thermal, but is corrected in a definite way that we calculate. Our methods can be extended in a straightforward manner to discuss correlations in the radiation, or between incoming particles and the radiation.
