Abstract:Through literature analysis, questionnaire survey and field interviews, this paper statistically analyzes the professional data of six institutions containing engineering majors in Tangshan City, and then thoroughly analyzes the characteristic reform and innovation methods of four institutions, namely, North China University of Science and Technology, Tangshan Polytechnic College, Tangshan College and Tangshan Normal College, to explore how to cultivate high-caliber talents under the background of the new engineering discipline. The study finds that the cultivation of high-quality talents needs to highlight the following innovations: (1) Deepen the cultivation of students' comprehensive quality, strengthen the practical teaching link, and enhance the quality of talent cultivation, including professional knowledge, practical ability, and humanistic literacy, etc.; (2) "Project-based" drive students' independent innovation, including entrepreneurial plans, experimental development, and competitions, etc., to improve students' practical ability and innovation consciousness; (3) Parallel enterprise feedback to expand the boundaries of employment services, including explaining employment policies, analyzing the employment situation, teaching career choice skills and other ways. The research in this paper has certain reference significance for the cultivation of talents in colleges and universities under the background of new engineering disciplines, which is conducive to better cultivating high-quality talents in line with the needs of the society.

Abstract:To foster innovation and entrepreneurship education, Zhanjiang University of Science and Technology aims to integrate it with professional education, discipline competitions, scientific and technological innovation, ideological and political education, as well as labor education. This integration will create a distinctive 'Five Innovation and Integration' model for talent development that enhances students' comprehensive abilities in innovation and entrepreneurship. This paper combines the concepts of ' the integration of specialty and innovation ' along with ' the integration of competition and innovation' through the establishment of a practical teaching base to facilitate the training of applied innovation and entrepreneurship talents[1]. The construction objectives of Zhanjiang University of Science and Technology-Xingyang Industry practical teaching base are introduced, along with its operational framework encompassing curriculum internship, graduation internship, and discipline competitions. Finally, this paper summarizes the achievements made in constructing the practical teaching base while aiming to provide a solid foundation for cultivating applied innovation and entrepreneurship talents at our institution.

Abstract:Over the past decade, the elements of innovative wisdom are not only a business organization to survive in the dangerous environment, school organizations to enhance the quality of education to meet the needs of the community. For the succession challenge in the continuous impact, an innovation level of a top university covered the administration, curriculum, teaching, equipment, environment and so on is quite extensive. This paper overviews a novel curriculum at Peking University, called Innovation Product Engineering Process, established by six interdisciplinary teachers for school students in various professional fields. The curriculum aims at inspiring students to break through professional limitations for experiencing the innovation process from idea into product. The students are self-organized as a team and construct a prototype collaboratively. Instructors from industrial give a practical perspective lesson and provide market information, funding and technical support. Students in the course are fostered six expected abilities, including creativity, practical, engineering process, team-working, communication and expressiveness. Ideas from students become the topic of a project after competing in three eliminating rounds. All competitions are graded and ranked by the participators (teachers, students, instructors from academic and industry). Finally, six ideas having the opportunity to become prototypes are developed successfully with various properties. Most of students indicated that the curriculum provided them a new training experience, interesting learning style and useful content of courses. ? Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014.

Abstract:With the rapid development of electrical engineering at home and abroad, it is in urgent need to foster talents with innovative spirit. The paper analyses the necessity and importance of cultivating outstanding innovative talents and further discusses the mode and measures for engineering subject. The paper puts forward some effective methods of cultivating innovative talents, such as adopting new mechanism to select talented person. The innovative talents can be divided into four categories: fantasy thinking talents, excellent SRT talents, professional talents, comprehensive talents.It also analyses some typical cases and primary results of these methods. The author hopes that the paper has certain reference meaning to the cultivating outstanding innovative talents of engineering subject.
