Effect of crisis intervention on cognitive-behavior oriented and the influencing factors

Abstract:ObjectiveTo study the effect of a cognitive-behavior oriented crisis intervention (CI) and the effect-related factors. Methods126 employees under crisis were assessed by SCL-90, STAI, Index of Well-Being, Index of General Affect, and an indigenously developed personality scale before and after the CI was implemented. ResultsSCL-90 total score (t=4.196, P<0.001), somatization (t=2.518, P<0.013), interpersonal sensitivity (t=2.470, P=0.015), anxiety (t=8.215, P<0.001), phobic anxiety (t=3.686, P< 0.001), and state anxiety (t=2.621, P=0.011) showed significant decrease, whereas Index of Well-Being (t=-2.522, P<0.013) increased significantly; the magnitude of these variations were significantly correlated with some personality traits had significant regression relationship with some demographic and job-specific variables. ConclusionThe CI program is effective, and the effect is affected by some personality, demographic and job-specific variables.
