Abstract:Based on the data of the science and research activities of higher institutions in each province in China provided by Comprehensive Statistics on College S&T Resource(2006-2008)and China Education Statistical Yearbook,this paper employs the method of extended knowledge production function to explore the crucial influencing factors of science and technology innovation ability of provincial higher education institutions Then,it employs the methods of multi linear regression to figure out the science and technology innovation ability index of higher education institutions of each province in china.Besides,it makes the provincial comparison of the development trend of science and technology innovation ability of the higher education institutions according to the index.Finally,it provides countermeasures to optimize the resource collocation to improve the science and technology innovation ability.
