Mutual Affection Between Qian Xuesen and Tsinghua University

Abstract:The author found many historical documents from the archives of Tsinghua University. These precious documents are related with one of the greatest scientists in China, QIAN Xuesen, who is called the father of China's aerospace technology. The documents include QIAN Xuesen's letter autographs to Tsinghua University around 1934 when he was selected by Tsinghua as an undergraduate student to be studying in the United States, the details that he established a research class of engineering mechanics and a training class of automation at Tsinghua University after his returning to China, and the proofs that he educated the first group of experts in engineering mechanics and automation and cultivated teachers for the development of China's aerospace technology, which illustrate a long-term relationship between QIAN Xuesen and Tsinghua University.
