Abstract:Based on a comparison of the education system and education philosophy in schools of electronic information in German and Chinese universities of science and engineering,the essay analyzes the difference of present education system in evaluation system,management system,practice and application.By making full use of the successful teaching experience in Germany,the present author puts forward some suggestions on teaching system,philosophy and other aspects,shedding light on domestic educational reform of the specialty,and a new educational system which takes students as the main body.

Abstract:The Imperial Examination(IE) and the Classical Academy(CA) had encountered the common fate that they were both denied completely in modern time in China,but they both have great historical values.The study of IE and the study of CA have the identical nature that they are both belonging to special subject in the field of the traditional Chinese culture.They both need theoretical construction.They can not only cross-reference for each other but also interact mutually.On the one hand,the study of IE provides important theoretical foundation for the study of CA;on the other hand,the latter enhances the study of the former.Both can offer the historical experience for the reform of contemporary examinations and school education.
Reflections upon the Centennial Abolition of the Imperial Examination System

Abstract:The imperial examination system in history was not so dark as what it is thought of by the modern people. Therefore, it is necessary to reappraise this system because of the incomplete and non-objective understanding and knowledge of it in the past. The prejudice today comes from the negative attitude towards it prevailing in the late Qinng Dynasty. In fact, many famous scholars in history, from the Sui and Tang Dynasties to the Ming and Qing Dynasties, praised this system, and many of them regarded this system as "the most fair" one. To redress this system has already become an ideological trend in the contemporary Chinese academia. A study of this system is beneficial for our better understanding of the characteristics of Chinese society and the destiny of Chinese traditional culture. At the same time, we can draw a historical lesson from it for the present examination reform.

Abstract:Cai Yuanpei and Walter Gropius,both educators,principals,and pioneers,had greatly influenced their own nations and even the world.Although their areas of academic research are different,they lived in the same historical period and shared a lot in terms of education theory and talents cultivation.Through a comparative study of their life experience,personal charm,and educational thought,the author of this paper advances that educational leaders should possess the spirit of the time and enterprise awareness.With their broad vision and knowledge,they should exert to construct an environment of academic independence and freedom of thought so that more talents with the spirit of the time,social responsibility,academic expertise,and professional skills will be produced.

Abstract:Humboldt,a passer-by in educational history who had not enjoyed a reputation of inci-siveness in thoughts and prominence in official status,nevertheless becomes the synonym of classical modern university as the founding father of the University of Berlin.Before Humboldt,Kant and Schleiermacher had looked in depth into the ideals of universities,and wide institutional renovations had been achieved in Halle University and Gottingen University.But it was Humboldt,combining the ide-als and the practices of institutional renovations,who had finally worked out the classical modern uni-versity in the context of Prussia society.China will benefit from learning both Humboldt and the insti-tutional renovations of German universities.

Abstract:Since the 21st century, Germany, relatively conservative in the field of teacher education, has made some reforms in succession, and the establishment of new patterns of teacher education organizations is just among them. This paper firstly analyzes the background of the establishment, then takes the“grass-root”Professional School of Education ( PSE) at the Humboldt University and the“official” Centre of Teacher Edu-cation ( CTE) at the Free University Berlin as examples to address mainly the following three issues:function, organizational structuring and staffing as well as operational mechanism, and also compares the two different types of organizations based on the above three dimensions. Finally, it argues that the PSE and CTE, as repre-sentatives of new patterns of teacher education organizations in Germany, have been a good try in teacher edu-cation reform. However, the effectiveness and achievement of this reform remains unclear, and it takes time to give a proper answer.

Abstract:There have been many reforms in university entrance examination since its renewal in 1977.Generally speaking,the reform related to examination technology is mostly easier to succeed,while the institutional reform is normally more complicated.The reform of university entrance examination should accord with Chinese national situation and the social development stages.Only when the reform conforms to the mainstream public opinion can university entrance examination gain the support of the people and have its long-term vitality.It is the reality that current university entrance examination reform should choose the mode adapting to the level of social material and civilization.The ultimate objective of the reform of university entrance examination is not to be changed into university's separate admission,or not likely to rely on the American mode of university admission examination,but to explore and establish the admission examination system suitable for the Chinese national situation with its own characteristics.

In accordance with the indicators put forward by Starfield of primary health care development in various countries, a comparative study was made on primary health care personnel, sources of funds and manners of payment, modes of services, and reform and development trends in both China and Germany. By means of analyzing primary health care and the system of general practitioners in Germany, the paper aims to explore channels for achieving ptimary health care in China so as to promote further reform in the domestic health system.

Abstract:In a certain sense,imperial examination(IE) was college entrance examination(CEE) in ancient China while CEE is IE in modern China.The tradition of IE pursuing fairness in terms of not only scholarship but also equal opportunity across regions has an impact on the regional distribution of modern universities and the practice of enrolment based on provincial quota and scoring classifications.It is argued that in the process of reform and improvement of CEE we should draw upon IE measures which had proved effective in preventing cheating and IE management practices with a view to strengthening current legislation for examination.The study of IE has important implications because it can provide valuable lessons and theoretical references for the current campaign of CEE reform.

Abstract:It is generally accepted that Cai Yuanpei's thoughts on university have been influ- enced by German University Ideology.But there is no evidence showing how Cai ac- quired his systematical knowledge of German university.Basing on the German ver- sion of Paulsen's book,the paper makes an analysis on Cai's translation of"The Fea- tures of German University"and comes to the following conclusions.First,Paulsen's work initiated Cai's comprehensive knowledge and perception of German university history.Second,features of German university in Paulsen's work,especially the ar- gumentation of university being the key to national destiny,have laid a foundation to Cai's thoughts on university.

Abstract:"Governmentalization" and "bureaucracy" in Chinese higher educational institutions have long been criticized. In order to overcome these disadvantages as well as improving efficiency and productivity, the administrative office-system of Chinese colleges and universities underwent sweeping reform during the 19992000 as a result of government initiatives. This paper uses published documents to review this reform and makes contrasts with the reform of the appointment and promotional policies for Peking University faculty in 2003. It explains the different effects of social influence and points out that the university administrative offices did not actually eliminate the tendency of governmentalization because of the role of legitimacy in this institutional reform.
