Abstract:Microarc oxidation ceramic coatings on magnesium alloy are of high corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties.Recent advance on the research of the ceramic coating properties,such as corrosion resistance,hardness,friction,wear and tensile properties were reviewed in this article.The effects of electrolyte compositions and process parameters on the anticorrosion and mechanical properties of the coatings were summarized.The disadvantages of microarc oxidation technique for magnesium alloy were pointed out.
