Abstract:W lbjective To study the chemical constituents from stems and leaves of Nauclea officinalis. jethods The chemical constituents from N. officinalis were separated and purified by silica gel, ODS, Sephadex LH-20 gel column chromatographies, and preparative HPLC. Their structures were identified by physicochemical properties, spectroscopic analysis, as well as comparisons with the data in literature. oesults Eighteen compounds were isolated from 85% ethanol extract from N. officinalis, and identified as dihydroactinidiolide (N), loliolide (O), 3,4,5-trimethoxyphenol (P), 4-hydroxy-3,5-dimethoxybenzaldehyde (Q), methyl-2,4-dihydroxy3,6-dimethyl-benzoate (R), p-methoxy cinnamic acid (S), caffeic acid methyl ester (T), ethyl caffeate (U), methyl isoferulate (9), ethyl ferulate (NM), secoxyloganin (NN), secologanoside (NO), 1H-indole-3-aldehyde (NP), 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronorharman-1-one (NQ), vinmajine I (NR), 19-O-methyl-3,14-dihydroangustoline (NS), naucleidinal (NT), and strictosamide (NU).
