Abstract:The academic thought in Chinese and Western learning both originates from their classic tradition.Nevertheless,there is a different value orientation between Chinese classics and Western classics.The former is based on Chinese philology and historical documents rather than the value of humanistic thoughts. The latter,though also based on ancient philology,pays more attention to interpreting humanistic thought of ancient Greece and Rome.The contemporary study of Chinese classics should interpret the core value of humanistic traditions in the Pre-Qin times according to ancient Chinese philology.Constructing the spirit of the civilization should be regarded as a main task of our classic hermeneutics.

Abstract:The Chinese pre-Qin Confucianism puts forward the concept of “Harmony,” covering “Balanced Harmony,” “External Harmony,” and “Internal Harmony,” etc. “Balanced Harmony” refers to the harmonious state of balance at both ends. “External Harmony” indicates the harmonious relationship with others, with society and with nature. “Internal Harmony” reveals the harmonious state within oneself between body and mind. “Balanced Harmony” is the ideal pursuit of Harmony, “External Harmony” and “Internal Harmony” are the two basic contents of Harmony, the trinity of which constitute a systematic concept of valuing “Harmony.” The golden mean is the fundamental criterion for achieving “Balanced Harmony,” while “Benevolent people love others” and “Seeking from the heart” are the two basic requirements for achieving “External Harmony” and “Internal Harmony” specifically, and together they constitute a systematic methodology of valuing “Harmony.” As one of the backbones of traditional Chinese culture, the Chinese pre-Qin Confucian thought of “Harmony” not only has had a far-reaching impact on the temperament, mental state, cognitive style, and moral character of the Chinese nation in history but also provides insights for public mental health in modern times globally, containing a great deal of useful information for mental health issues from which Western public mental health could profit.

Abstract:″Harmony″ is not only one of the most important values in traditional Chinese culture,but also a trend of development in modern Chinese society.However,studies about harmony are very limited and lacking of reliably empirical process.This research reviewed recent studies about interpersonal harmony,and tried to propose an exploratory model of organizational interpersonal harmony.Through qualitative and quantitative studies,the paper proposed that organizational interpersonal harmony has three dimensions:peers harmony,leader-member harmony,and overall harmony.The Organizational Interpersonal Harmony Scale(OIHS) developed by the study has also been proved to be reliable and valid for future researches.

Abstract:The notions,harmony of man and nature(tian ren he yi) and to value justice above material gains(zhong yi qing li),have been widely practiced and studied.From the perspective of political science and political psychology,these two notions actually reflect the cognition of and the attitude toward man and material world among traditional Chinese people,and in turn have regulative influence on Chinese people feelings and attitude orientations about authority,state and political system.As the social environment has greatly changed,these two notions and their implications need to be redefined and understood in the new context so as to provide ethical and political value support for the reshaping of the political psychology of the Chinees people and the building of modern social harmony that is different from classical harmony.

Abstract:Abstract As the mainstream ideology, Confucian harmony deeply influences ways of thinking and social life in the East. Contemporary China has experienced quite a radical change since the Xīnhài Revolution in 1911. It also marked the re-examination of Confucianism, i.e. the development of New Confucianism. New Confucianism needs to encourage China to fit the modern and global context. Therefore, the revival of Confucian harmony must remake itself to fit the modern world. A certain degree of convergence between Confucian harmony and liberalism, the mainstream ideology in the West, is necessary. Personal improvement is a hotly disputed idea among Chinese Confucians and Western liberals because transformation of public ethics is closely related to transformations of the self. This paper argues the importance of integration between harmony and liberalism. What is important is to explore how each tradition can shed light on theoretical and practical issues regarding harmony between the individual and the community, rather than individual sovereignty over communal claims in ideological studies.

Abstract:In the 21st century,the post-modern literature and art have witnessed their prevalence.They clear value and lose their value judgment and have been called mess art.How can Chinese culture and art gradually step out of marginalized crisis,put them in a proper position and hence meet their own splendor?
